The main benefits of staying here are lower room prices and free parking. The hotel is located on the main strip and is near many restaurants and there is a large, popular mall within walking distance. The hotel itself is quite modern and spacious. It has an indoor pool and a restaurant located inside the hotel where you get a hot breakfast free with your stay. The only negative is the lack of a microwave in your room, although there is one located in the laundry room of the hotel. If you are visiting Montreal, I highly suggest you consider staying at this hotel.

Heartwarming place when we come in. Restaurant is good. Suite is huge! Bed comfortable. Halls looks nice and modern. Suite had two bathrooms, including one with a standup shower and a bubble bath. The bad: Only had one luggage carrier. They had to bring out a second luggage carrier (broken) from the back for our needs. Breakfast menu is VERY limited. No prices on menu. Parking can be extremely confusing (it is next to a Burger King, and you have no idea if you are parking at the restaurant or hotel). The Suite had a BIG carpet spot right in front of the bathroom door. Aside from the bad, the service was top notch, which made me give this place five stars. They were very accommodating and we had a great two nights.

Breakfast is included and it's decent: toast, scrambled eggs and sausage plus coffee/tea, yogurt, waffles and cereal - buffet style. The room itself was nice, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean with good water pressure. The room had a king bed, sofa, work station, mini fridge and microwave. What we were not happy with was that we asked for a quiet room and we are next to a construction site-I mean literally we open our curtains and its right there staring at us Also in the bathroom we could see old holes and cracks in the wall. That wasn't a deal breaker but the construction site very is disappointing

Luckily I was wrong. On the outside the hotel looks like nothing to write home about but the inside is nicely done. We checked in pretty late and there were two young men working at the desk and had us checked in in minutes. Both spoke English well. He knew we booked our room with free points but did not skimp and give us a trashy room. We got exactly the room we had reserved, top floor corner with double beds. Most importantly, they listened to my request and did not spray the room with air freshener. Our room was a decent size. The TV worked well and the room did not smell like smoke, thankfully. It was quiet for the most part but late at night we could hear one of the neighbors TV loudly. My biggest complaint would be the shower. The pressure was extremely low and made it hard to rinse my hair. What impressed me the most was the complimentary breakfast. They had make your own waffles just like we have in the states and they came in original and blueberry flavors. Their breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had. Other items included oatmeal, cereal (fruit loops, Rice Krispies, raisin bran) bread, peanut butter and jelly, yogurt, etc. the room was nicely done and the lady who worked their stocked up finished items in a timely fashion. On a weekday the breakfast ran until 9:30am. A few things you should beware of: the first floor rooms all have a patio door. This means you can walk directly from your car to your room. Personally, it would make me feel scared for my safety but some may like it. There are no elevators and the hotel employees did not offer to help us with our many bags. They allow dogs for an extra $25 per stay. The hotel is located about 25 minutes outside of Montreal and we did hit some traffic from the construction going in and out of the city. It's located near a ton of chain stores, grocery stores and food establishments. Mall Champlain is a few minutes away from the hotel. I did not feel unsafe in the neighborhood. I liked the hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again next tim I go to Montreal.

Have always stayed Econoldge and have never experienced a problem, except in Brossard…read more During what was supposed to be a relaxing break from all the driving, we were quickly awakened as my parents experienced rampant and extreme itching and blood-stained pillows. Upon getting up, several bed bugs; both huge adults and their offspring were crawling all over the wall near the headboard and all over the pillows. Housekeeper transferred us to another room in another building. We then spoke with a woman, who appeared to be the hotel manager; she simply dismissed our claims stating that there were "no problems" with the previous visitors in our room "last week" and that they will send someone to "check the room." After re-settling in the other building, we were dismayed to find that the room was much smaller and although possessed a standard-sized fridge instead of a mini-fridge; the fridge was dirty with crumbs and stray hairs. The bathroom was much smaller and dirty and had contained stray hairs on the floor and shower as well. The sink was very small and right against the corner wall and we had trouble trying not to splash and soak the floor whenever we used it. The next morning upon check out, we informed the manager (the same woman we spoke to the day before) that we will not be staying anymore not only due to the bed bugs in our original room, but due to the unkemptness of our new room as well and that we would greatly appreciate it if she could offer at least a partial discount due to all the trouble. The manager then stated that she would not deduct due to us already using AAA membership, after my parents were forced to present her with their bites; the manager relented and only gave a barely 10 % discount. Apparently to reviews this place used to be a very good Days Inn, but went beyond downhill after becoming an Econolodge. People have complained of roaches and dirty dirty dirty rooms. There were other Econolodges in the area, but they were full and we were tired and desperate for a room, needless to say-DO NOT STAY HERE. Do not let the nice lion-statued/flower adorned outside lie to you, inside are filthy (not-so) secrets.

C H E C K - I N It was relatively easy for check in and they do speak both French and English which is helpful. But if you're not used to Québécois French, it might be a little hard to understand as my bf is fluent in French but he had a hard time understanding to the point the person at the desk switched to English. They will clean your room once so decide when you'd like to get it cleaned. We ended up not wanting to get our room cleaned and just asked for more toilet paper and towels when we needed it. E L E V A T O R I appreciated the hand sanitizer near the elevator. Due to COVID, one family or folks staying in one room can be in the elevator at any given time. So no mixing groups in the elevator which is great and helpful during these challenging times. The elevators are quite responsive and quick! R O O M The room is pretty spacious with a bathroom area, kitchenette area with a microwave and fridge, a sitting area and the bed. The bed was a nice king sized bed with comfortable bedding. I slept well :) The only thing is the heating situation, we couldn't figure out how to set it to a high enough temperature where it would stop turning on and off too often as we are a bit light sleepers. We eventually figured out a sweet spot after a couple days where we weren't disrupted too often or way too hot or cold in the middle of the night. The bathroom situation was a little interesting. They had a frosted area with a graphic for the shower area so you can actually see the person showering inside. So it may be a bit awkward if you go with someone you're not that close to. The toilet also didn't have a fan for any number 2 situations so again unless you're super comfortable with the person you may be traveling with, then this might be a little awkward. Maybe bring some poopouri. The toilet paper was a bit thin which is typical of hotels. The towels smelled normal instead of your over bleached towel situation. The TV has a few channels in both French and English which was nice. I spent my time watching news or Christmas movies while we were there. They had several areas with normal plugs and also USB charging which was nice. O V E R A L L It was definitely a nice room, but the heating/AC system was a bit challenging. The bathroom situation can be a bit awkward if you're sharing the room. Other than that, it's great to be near the DIX30 shopping area as it's convenient to walk around, park, as well as get food or shop! The staff was quite helpful and they even gave us a do-it-yourself hot cocoa inside a clear ball ornament. Will definitely consider this place again if we visit in the future.

Not only that, but because 2 of our 3 dogs are certified therapy dogs, they waived the pet fee. We also had 2 stainless steel dog bowls in the room and a nice dog bed. How great is that? Room was very nice with a mini fridge, small desk and a very strange chair in the corner. It may have looked cool, but I tried it but it was hardly comfortable! The dogs used it for looking out the windows. The bathroom was spacious with a wooden spa bench for getting dressed, plus plenty of high quality towels. Bonus points for a make up mirror! The lounge is a mix of comfortable chairs/couches and nice for a glass of wine. The front desk will happily make you a latte and there are a selection of menu items for a light breakfast or lunch. While there are no microwaves in the room, you can use the one in the lobby. Free parking was also a huge reason to stay in Broussard vs. Montreal. There were plenty of stores/restaurants within walking distance. For the dogs, there is a section of grass & trees directly to the right of the entrance, along with a poop bag dispenser. The location is very convenient to get to downtown Montreal by going over a nearby bridge. All in all, a very pleasant and stress free stay.

We wanted to spend as little on accommodation without compromising minimum essentials as possible,…read moreand this family operated motel fit the bill on our first visit to MTL. As adequate and pleasant as the multi-might stay was, some things must be mentioned which should be improved and prevented regardless of whether we will ever return: - There was no "do not disturb" sign available, so room service did basic housekeeping every day we were there, which we generally do not want. To make matters worse, they must have tossed our entire snack box of recently bought cookies, chips, and cups because they were there one morning and nowhere to be found that same evening upon our return. - The bulb on one side of the headboard burnt out, so we removed the bulb and asked front desk for replacement, but at the time of checkout 5 days later, it still had not been addressed. - The A/C was ancient and hard to work with for optimal, comfortable temp in the room. In fact, I woke up in the middle of the night one morning shivering, and most other times or was difficult to get the room temp down. On the other hand, we appreciated the quietness although I'm sure the noise from the A/C played a big part. The room was well appointed with everything we need for sleep and recovery, and for once the tp want like a sandpaper. Plus, I always have a soft spot for family businesses (which I assume this is). I hope they continue to improve and do well.

Hours later, a family member wanted to hop in the bed and opened the sheets to see there were stains and the bed was soaked. I read some of these reviews and it gave me pause but I took a chance and I'm glad I did…read more We drove in and although GPS brought us to the very spot, it is SO easy to miss. Look for the flags. They hang over the entrance. There is a small portico to drive into by the front door. It's a tight squeeze. Staff let us know to unload the car before we park in the garage. Pro-tip: That's a tight squeeze too. My SO checked in while I stayed in the car so not sure how that went, but all my interactions with the staff were fine (with one exception - that young man needs to relax, but maybe he's new) and our housekeeper was a delight! Even the breakfast room staff were lovely with a 'good morning' or 'Bonjour' when you arrive. The lobby is two stories high with a lovely old chandelier that is covered with a huge lamp shade. Trying to update the décor I believe. Both the old chandelier, and the new shade have a lot to offer in their own way. Several comfy seating areas and a fireplace round out the lobby. A business center and ATM are located behind the hotel marketplace where you can get water, soda, and snacks. Breakfast is served on the mezzanine overlooking the lobby. Two luggage carts are available near the elevators so be sure to bring them back for other guests! Our room was at the end of the hall. Lovely, no noise from folks running past the room. There are big picture windows by the elevators overlooking the Old Port and Ferris Wheel. Nice view. The hallways are carpeted nicely and kept vacuumed. The room key cards are not needed for the elevator. Our King room did not have a safe, which was disappointing as I planned to use it! But other than that, it had all the amenities: hangers, luggage rack, extra blanket, iron & board, microwave, fridge, sink, glasses, coffee maker w/mugs, sofa, chair, desk w/a comfortable seat, bedside lamps, overhead fan on a light switch, tub/shower combo, single sink in the bathroom (not in the room). Plenty of space to 'spread out' at the end of a long day of being of tourist. I *always* check the bed first thing for bug before doing *anything* and not only was this bed clean it had a full mattress enclosure and a top mattress cover under the sheet. The mattress was very comfortable. Firm, but not hard, very comfortable with a variety of pillows so whatever your preference, it was probably available. They have face clothes which I wasn't sure about as some hotels do not offer those, and it was a nice surprise. The shower items - shampoo, conditioner and body wash - are in multi-use containers. We had one bar of soap at the sink throughout our four night stay. No skin cream, shower cap, etc. The hotel offers daily light housekeeping, which not all hotels offer anymore and I was very happy to learn. I asked on our first day for the shower curtain liner to be replaced as it was looking a bit dirty at the hem. We came back to the room for a quick minute around lunch time and it had already been changed. I left a tip (and some snacks) and a thank you note for our housekeeper for being so attentive and she took excellent care of us throughout our stay. If we bumped into each other in the hallway she would light up and we'd have a little chat. I hope the hotel values this excellent representative of their hotel. The room looks like much has been updated. For example the bathroom floors and tub surround are new while the tub was older. It looked like the 'built in' non-skid bottom was dirty, but I felt it and the tub was scrupulously clean. Having an old cast iron tub w/built in non-skid pattern myself, I understand how impossible it is to make them 'disappear'. That tub is clean. Ignore all those photos of 'dirty tubs'. That's the nature of the materials, not a sign of neglect. One rainy day, our room did have a bit of an 'off' smell, but other wise, the room was fine. I don't know if it's just the city that has that smell, if it's old plumbing or just the old building. Chalk it up to staying in the 'Old City' and part of the ambiance? :D And may I say, those sheets are *so* soft! I don't know where they get their sheets, but I want them! The duvet is encased in top sheets above and below. Everything in the room was clean, even if a couple of things showed wear. Breakfast offered eggs and meat in chaffing dishes daily. Yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese and butter are in a refrigerator, Plenty of bread products like English muffins, bagels, muffins, etc., cereals and a big pot of oatmeal with nuts, raisins and other add-ins. I'm sure there was more, but that's as far as I got. Of course there was coffee, tea, and cocoa. Staff come around and bus tables. There are restrooms off the dining area near the staircase, opposite the elevator. Parking is thirty five dollars a day. We parked and didn't move. The city has public transit and if you are a walker, is easily walkable. The location is excellent with immediate access to Rue St-Paul and the old port.
