The carpet seemed in need of redoing with the amount of foot traffic it has seen. We were there for the IMAX screening of the Blue Angels documentary. It's a true IMAX dome theater. It was immaculately clean in the theater and the seats looked brand new. The movie gave me the same feeling I get whenever I have worn the 3D glasses they give you in the AMC theaters, so be forewarned I did get dizzy a few times during the movie. For 2 tickets the price came out to $21.90. I would definitely come again for the right movie, but need a break from the dizziness I got.

I saw a comedian perform at the Lyric last night, and I really enjoyed the venue. The views of the stage were good from multiple vantage points as I walked around to explore. My seat was in the balcony and also had a good view of the entire stage. The acoustics were good. The entire setting was intimate, which made for great people-watching. The seats are small, but that is to be expected from a historic venue. The staff were universally friendly and helpful. The security personnel were courteous and professional. The bathrooms were clean. Bar service was quick. Lots of paid parking lots within an easy walk of the theater (most seems to be about $10), and if you get there early enough, street parking too (e-meters paid through ParkMobile app Monday-Friday 8a-6p only). I will happily return to the Lyric for future shows.

So in December I decided one item on my "want to do in 2018" would be dance lessons. The first class I went to was line dance. Jo, our instructor, is wonderful!! The beginner class is 30 minutes long and costs $5! We learned several line dances and had the best time. Once you feel ready you can graduate yourself to novice class which starts right after the beginnners where you can learn a little harder dances. Once every 3 weeks they have a Friday night dance at the studio! So excited!!! The studio is large and open- inviting and big enough to hold a good sized group. My next class will be west coast swing! Can't wait to try that one too!!! I think all the Yelp family needs to come join me :-)

As for the hunted experience, you will definitely get your money worth if you scare easily. I'm not gonna describe the details of the attraction since I don't want to spoil anything, but just be careful inside. The actors themselves take their jobs seriously in scaring the heck out of their victims. Would definitely recommend Atrox for anyone that's looking for a thrill and 1st time experience.

Theatre Downtown might be for you if you're downtown and you like Theatre!…read more I really had a great time viewing the production of "Bob: A Life in Five Acts" here at this venue. If nobody told you about it, I'm really not sure how you'd know it's here. It's tucked away in the upper level of an antique store. Sounds really random, and it is, but it somewhat adds to what this place is offering! Before the show starts and during intermissions, you'll be able to tour the upstairs of the antique store... which is large btw! Real character, this place has. There's popcorn and candy for purchase before entering the theater. It's pretty much a black box with stadium seating, a short platform stage and everything from sound to lights seemed somewhat rigged but fully functioning of course! You don't have to go Broadway to see a good theater performance and this Birmingham locale is the perfect example of such! This ecclectic theater atmosphere just may suit your fancy for a new evening activity in the city!

The first night of each show is "hobo night" where you can pay whatever you want to see the show. Theatre can get expensive, so I appreciate this option. I'm not sure if there is an age-limit to the shows here, but I'm going to assume that most aren't kid friendly as there have been pretty adult themes (language, particularly) in the shows that I've seen.
