I was told it's a great place to eat if your in the area. Its located in one of the busiest parts of Elk Country, near Benezette PA. During leaf peeping time-this place was crazy busy but we took our chances. Being very loud... I pointed to the item on the menu, simple chicken tenders and a side salad. She asked what dressing I would like ect. I got 4 chicken nuggets and no salad. She said it would take a while for a side salad, and charged for the side of ranch dressing? My sister, another simple order, chicken tender dinner that came w fries. she asked to upgrade the fries to add chili, waitress say ok. She got her chili on a separate side of fries which she was charged for Next, a bowl of chili- he got a bowl of cream of Broccoli- The only thing that came out right was a cheeseburger! I swear no one is trained right And I'm not sorry for saying this, but if you know that it's the busiest weekend at the end of summer, GET SOME REAL HELP! PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE ORDERING! Besides the gripe, they said the food was good but the service was terrible, at the bar at least.

The waitress had a sense of humor and helped us with suggestions for breakfast in town the next day. The owner saw us looking out the window at some large birds and he swiftly showed up at our table not only with our tasty pierogi appetizer but with a portable telescope so we could watch the baby eagles across the river learning how to fish with their parents. We had the wings (good inventive flavors!) and the special (smoked chicken, mashed potatoes and lemon zested peas with gravy) that tasted like a fresh pan sauce and was flavorful and definitely homemade tasting. What kind of tavern takes the time to add lemon zest to vegetables? A place that cares about the food they serve! And did I mention the beer was very affordable? We really enjoyed our dinner here and think the folks who live nearby are lucky to have a spot like this.

Rock Bottom is a seriously local, family owned establishment outside Lock Haven, PA. This charming…read morelocal pub has nice views of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and exceedingly friendly staff. I first visited Rock Bottom with friends several years ago--shortly after it changed ownership. It was a pleasant stop, but things have continued to improve. The owner has improved the river view by carefully tending a riverfront lot across the street and keeping large windows. There's also a side deck with river views. Thus family-owned establishment has great service and a friendly clientele who are welcoming to all. The tap system is currently offline but Rock Bottom has a nice selection of domestic bottled beers. Four stars only because we didn't have a chance to try the food; bar service was great If you're in the Lock Haven area definitely check out this local jewel. You'll have a good time and probably make some new friends.

UN BE LIEVABLE…read more The food, the service, the value, the staff! Hard to put into words how cool this night was at the bar as a solo dude here in PA on business. They had cheese, chicken and steak options on their quesadillas. I asked if they could do grilled shrimp instead. "YEP" It was the largest, chunkiest, tastiest quesadilla I've ever had! They tossed in sour cream, salsa and pico without batting an eye or adding cost to it. I asked the gal that emerged from the kitchen if she was the chef. She was indeed the saint who made my quesadilla, so I was able to let her know I had just consumed the nectar of the Tex/Mex gods in her offering. The bartender/my server was the nicest, most easy going person ever. He could be selling airplanes for Boeing but somehow he's here doing his craft. I've traveled the US and have gone to literally hundreds of sports bars/restaurants etc. It's hard to describe when you don't encounter a negative person or scene in any conversation or request. If I lived around here I'd sleep in the parking lot so I don't miss a meal or drink oppo. If there were 10 stars I'd give it. I've left some harsh reviews so I don't type the above lightly. To the owners of this patch of golden humanity..... THANK YOU! Why? For finding and hiring great people who care about their work, products and guests.
