This place is a nice alternative is the teeny-tiny Clements across the road (although their Rice Krispie squares aren't quite so good...!) It's quite big inside and there are loads of sofas, so it's a very cosy place to sit in and have a chat. You have to order at the counter, but the food and drink is brought to you, which is nice. Also, they do that thing where they shake cocoa on the top of you latte in shapes (leaves, hearts, stars and whatnot). That might not be that exciting, but it just gives it that bit of personalisation and makes you feel that the staff aren't just robots pressing buttons on a coffee machine. There's wi-fi in the place and two desktops at the back of the cafe, which is useful when you get into a discussion over which one was the red turtle and you simply HAVE to know! It was Raphael by the way.

Their coffee has a whole lotta heart...

Despite this particular coffee shop already having three reviews, I felt I had to add my tuppence worth, and inform the readers of my experience, and namely the waffles. Mmmmm. I'd never actually been to Sinnamon in my puff before, so I was delighted when my friend suggested it be the location for a long overdue catch-up. Despite us arriving there (with a third friend) before noon, we each decided to buy lunch - my first friend ordering the soup of the day, my second friend ordering the chicken caesar salad, and I ordering the pizza panini. With a slight twist of course...being my fussy self, I swapped the pepperoni for chicken, and apologised for being a pain in the process. The barista just laughed at said that my fussiness was nothing compared to some. Phew. Panini was fair enough...nothing too exciting, and it wasn't particularly big, so I was left with a little gap in my tummy. Eyeing the dessert board, I spotted 'Waffles' for £2.50, with your choice of topping for additional sum of money (everything from strawberries and ice-cream to smoked salmon). Well, I didn't even hesitate to consider whether or not I'd actually be able to down an entire waffle. Nope, that wasn't even an option. Waffles have been a huge love of mine since I went to Belgium two years ago, yet the interesting thing is, I don't think I've bought one since I got back. Mmm. Ordering it with chocolate sauce on top, I paid the £3.00 some-odds, and happily sat and waited for my delicious dessert to arrive. I wasn't quite expecting such a huge waffle - I mean it really was massive. A sort of elongated oval shape, covered in warm chocolate sauce. Hmmm. It was sweeeeeet. And yes, I couldn't finish it. But I didn't care. I'd gotten to eat a waffle in Northern Ireland, and that was all that mattered. My life was now complete...

Sinnamon is a great coffee shop on stranmillis offering delicious coffee, yummy desserts and great lunches. The cafe has a really nice relaxing non pretentious atmosphere and the staff are really great too. Bringing your order down to you so you can chill out and get a seat, on the sofa if you're lucky! They offer wifi which is great for people on the go and have two computers at the back if you need to do some surfing. The danishes, are actually, amazing!! They're so delicious they should be illegal! And they make a really good cuppa tea too which is a rareity! Great place for a catch up or to chill with a book or magazine!

Ahh yes, the usual Belfast coffee shop. As I have said in other reviews, I'm not a big coffee fan, and I'm even less of a fan of coffee shops, particularly ones that are a bit pretentious. I guess they're a nice place to go get a cuppa or what not but what is the point really? The food is always overpriced in these place and I don't care what you say, putting a few McCoys on the side of a plate does not constitute a proper lunch. As far as this place goes, its a pretty good pretentious coffee shop. The stuff is nice enough, particularly the waffles, and the staff are dead on and friendly. They deliver a solid enough service without it being spectacular. Other people will love this place, I just disagree with it in principle.

Blue sky in Belfast! Nice to sit outside in the sun...

Sinnamon is a nice wee coffee shop. Good coffee and bakes. It has the benefit of outside seating in leafy Stranmillis. If I could fault it on anything it would be that it's one of a multitude of similar types of coffee shop that are are everywhere in Belfast. Good enough but nothing different...

Whilst I adore good coffee and pour an absolutely astounding amount of it down my neck, there are not very many coffee shops that I like very much. Shops that I favour are generally fuss-free, sell great whopping big mugs of good quality stuff, and don't have a hoity-toity clientele. So I don't like Sinnamon very much. It has a rubbish name, the other customers look all scrubbed up and shiny (not unlike their annoying laptops), the shop itself is more reminiscent of an operating theatre, the overpriced (and not particularly good) takeaway coffee is presented in a piddly little cup with an artistic little milk swirl in the shape of a feather on top. I suppose this is Stranmillis, but there isn't really a fine line between being highly pretentious, and just doing a simple thing well.

Good selection of teas and traybakes. A nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Tried the green tea and mint!

Nice big comfy sofas that really invite ya in. I enjoyed a cappuccino with a shot of vanilla however my fifteen traybake was solid as a rock on top..I fear its been out all week. I ate it none the less as it was soft in the middle and i was craving something sugary.

Great coffee shop in stranmillis, great at weekends for brunch or lunch. The yoghurt, with oats and berries is declines as our the pancakes.

We got there first and we really only had a double espresso and croissant each. Both were very good indeed. Our companions arrived and ordered coffees too. They surprised us as we went to pay - they picked up the tab, decent of them so I can't report the cost. It's quite a large place once inside, and as we walked in at a front counter we were right next to a display of their rather expensive pastries and they looked delicious. The seats were comfy and the staff were a friendly bunch and they were super efficient. This place is on Belfast's Lisburn road, and although we had arrived just before 11am on a Monday morning we found on street pay car parking space very challenging to find indeed. I keep reminding myself that we are supposed to be in austerity yet the coffee bars are full and on street parking is at an expensive premium - seems austerity is only for the poorest and hammering down on our public services like the NHS, education and on and on. Think I'd rather pay fair taxation. It's become a much crazier world. As I write I hear Mr Trump on the radio claim he hasn't a racist bone in his body. I never thought I'd agree with him; he hasn't. The racism is evidently in his brain alone.

So I got a pre-packed sandwich instead which they heated on site. Still tasted great but I will have to go to botanic if I want to make up my own salad or sandwich for takeaway. Decided to try here and sit in this time (for lunch). Decor is lovely and the restaurant is more spacious than the other store. They have a small menu but also offer daily specials and separate vegetarian menu. One of the specials offered was a rare beef sourdough sandwich served with fries and hot sauce. Although the sandwich was tasty and a lite messy due to the coleslaw and rocket the beef was not rare. There was also quite a bit of fat around the edges of the beef. Opted for a watercess, feta, beetroot and quinoa Salad as a side order. For 3.50 this salad was huge but a bit salty. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert but took a look at all the lovely treats on offer for future reference. Great to see they are licensed as well, I will be back to try out the dinner menu along with some cocktails.

At £24 for two this really is a steal. Sandwiches of your choice, scones (with the usual accompaniments) and some yummy traybakes. This is more like non pretentious, Northern Irish style afternoon tea. With the tray bakes including mini fifteens and malteaser squares. If you are looking for something cutesy, scrumptious and not breaking the bank then look no further! Will definitely be back. Tea rooms attached to a garden centre, tend not to have the most out there reputation. I'm glad to say my scepticism was blown out of the water. This place is definitely a little gem of Belfast. The actual tea rooms/restaurant are an elegantly appointed building with stunning views of the countryside. You feel like you are in the great hall of some stately Victorian home. Sumptuous décor and a varied and delicious sounding menu. As we were there during the week we availed of the two courses for £9.99 (I think that was the price so apologies if I got this wrong, my mum was paying) We both ordered the soup for starter, Butternut Squash, chilli and coconut. Very tasty and a huge portion, I couldn't finish mine because I wanted to leave room for the main. My mother ordered slow cooked beef brisket, Mash and roast root veg while I had the smoked haddock, creamy bacon and leek sauce and the same sides. I cannot fault the food, it was delicious. My only tipple would have been that a selection of different sides for the fish may have been a little better, Maybe some samphire and potato croquets or some such. We also caught a glimpse of their cram tea on another table which looked stunning (I think the Waitress said it was £20/25 per head) Overall an amazing place for lunch, but it doesn't end there. They also offer a dinner menu Thursday to Saturday and it is BYO so definitely cannot be doing wrong there. I highly recommend this place for lunch or for dinner! If you go for dinner though I think you have to book as this place is making its mark on the map and seems to be getting ever more popular!
