This place was rad. The actors were great and the props really set the stage for creepy clown vibes! I think the spot is new and they're working out a few kinks but overall I would absolutely recommend! Thanks for the scare!!

Parking is easy and only $10, the lot is at the back of the fairgrounds and a short walk to the entrance of the event. When you walk up to the event you do not see a lot other than the ticket booth, a few food vendors and some picnic style bench seating. There was no signage directing us where to go to actual enter the event. I saw a sort of laser graphic going on thru a doorway and of course had to go check it out. Do not walk through the doorway if a false moving tunnel is not your thing. We made our way through the tunnel only to find line after line with no real rhyme or reason. Lines were however filtered so that you hit one House after another. While the family stood in line I went up to the ticket booth just to inquire about the VIP option and was able to snag 4 VIP passes (at an additional $10 per ticket). We hopped in the first line which led to "The Passage" with the VIP we walked right up. I am not sure what this was supposed to be but I would not want to do it every again. No direction, just a bunch of black walls and strobes lights throughout and you had to walk through till you found your way out. It was pure mayhem, large groups of people (mainly teenagers running amuck screaming and pushing). Just as we were going to hop out one of the emergency exits one of the employees directed us to the actual exit. No scares here, just walked out with a headache. Once you exit you are dumped directly into the Hell-Billy Hootenanny que. There was no specified VIP entrance for this House but the wait was about 5-10 minutes. This House was better than the first for sure. The set dressing was nice but there was some confusion on the theme. About a quarter of the way in both my kids turned around and said there is so much going on what is the theme supposed to be? A few good scares and way more manageable and less nauseating than the first house. Scareators were on point and no matter what the theme was they did a good job of making you feel like part of the House. Last but not least and by far our favorite was the Haunted Hayride. There were two lines, one for general admission and another for VIP. The general admission line wait was around 45 minutes while the VIP was about 15 minutes. Everyone hopped up on the hay filled tractor bed. There were several scenes throughout the hayride (including everyone's favorite Circus/Clown theme). There was a good distraction of set dressing and items to help distract you so the scareators could actually scare multiple people. All in all the Haunted Hayride lasted about 20 minutes and was really fun. Lines were fairly backed up and those who had a timed entry of 7:30 ended up standing over and a half in line before even getting through the first House. I cannot say whether it is worth it or not to spend the extra on the VIP admission. I guess a better statement would be is how much you value your time. This was my first time to the live event (we had been previously during Covid where they set-up a full drive thru haunt experience). I went in with an open mind, I did not want to compare the Scare Zone to other Haunts we have been through. I am glad we experienced once and while this event might be scary and fun for some, but I doubt it will be on my Haunt visit list in the future.

It was pretty sweet then and every bit as fun now that it is down in Mission Valley. I purchased tickets online (VIP for my son and I) tickets for this event were $40 each. We arrived around 8:30 and while it was busy there wasn't really huge lines. Since it is Halloween weekend I'm thinking it will be a lot more crowded. I do recommend buying tickets online prior to heading down as they do sell out. Each night there are a limited amount of regular tickets available at the entrance booth as well as VIP upgrades (you just pay the difference). There were three walk through experiences, each one better than the other. Lots of familiar scenes from your favorite scary movies. They also let small groups through at a time so there are plenty of scares to share with everyone. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and make the experience that much better. The scareators both inside the experiences as well as wander through the event were all on point.  There was also a bar and a live band playing Friday night. You can even go axe throwing right in the parking lot. Plenty to keep everyone busy. Make sure you stop at the zombie photo op outside the mazes, they have plenty of props and even a fog machine setup where they will take a picture (or a few) with your cell phone for you. A pretty awesome momento to take with you. Whole experience took us about 30-45 minutes to walk through.

At the Entrance, I was already jumped scared by PEGGY the CLOWN ;). I don't go inside their scary attractions and I'm just always the person who waits on the Bench and is just there to pay for everything they need. But these MONSTERS around this DISTURBANCE are making their job well by not leaving me Alone ;). So I just ended up going to my car and waiting for them if they need to buy something or anything they want to buy. I went back again inside the DISTURBANCE, my son, my husband, and his friends were still inside the mazes and I continued to be chased by the Monsters while waiting for my group. We like the place , at least something for a change this year. Plus my son said their Mazes are very interactive.

We waited for maybe half an hour, but you can skip the line for an extra $10. The set and props are so detailed and the actors are amazing. Can't believe we have been missing out all these years (I believe this is their 15th year) We had VIP entry for 7pm and at 1st I thought I could have saved some money and gone general entry but ended up the extra cost was well worth the money. The general entry line wasn't super long at 1st but for sure it started getting packed. We were 1st in line and eager to check everything out and get some good scares. The trial is a bit uneven but is well lit and actually not too bad to walk. The scareators were amazing, the props as well and the staff superb! The scares are enhanced knowing you are literally walking through the buildings and area of the old amusement park. We were in the first group to enter and what I liked not is we were spaced out. Even though there were roughly 8 of us we all got a chance to get scared. There was no overcrowding or trying to fit too many people through at once. It was perfect. Parking is free and easy in and out (dirt lot but we'll maintained). Depending on the time and date you go might help factor in which ticket option you want. There are three options, general line, fast pass, and VIP. Each allow you to stand in or bypass the line. Later in the season I would for sure go with fast pass at least. I can picture this haunt getting busier. Overall a great local haunt, well priced, easy to get to and awesome people. Can't wait to go back!
