For reference, this is my third time here, and the experience has been the same every time. I'm giving it a 5 bc I want it to succeed, this place could be the best cafe in the Boro, but for now it's a 4. The food is awesome: desserts, sandwiches, coffee, soups, salads. It's all tasty and quality, you can tell they care a great deal about their product being great. The shop is cute as well. I only have two recommendations. The first is minor and didn't affect my rating but this place needs some music of some kind to contribute to the atmosphere, even if it's just light background music. My second recommendation, which is the reason I give it a 4 star rating, is that the staff isn't all that welcoming. You do feel like a bit of an inconvenience. They weren't rude to me at all, and I'm sure they're very nice people, but there's definitely a difference btw the service here and the service at a place like Chick-fil-a. Overall though, it's a great place and I would highly recommend it, we need places like this in the Boro!! read more

Murfreesboro is such a cute town! Why do I not come here more? It's really not that far from Nashville so I'm telling you people, get out here. I found myself in Murfreesboro for a meeting on a very rainy and cold day. We needed a place to sit down and chat, uninterrupted, so we found Simply Pure Sweets on Yelp. First warning, the GPS will bring you about a block down from the actual coffee shop. Normally this would be ok but it was raining so hard and I didn't have an umbrella. Not the shops fault, just a warning in case you feel lost. Parking is street parking. Simply Pure Sweets is in an old brick building and definitely has a hang out relaxed feel. It reminds me of most small town coffee shops/bakeries. I dig it. The menu is pretty big for both drinks and food. They have a lot of baked goods that all looked delicious. I had my eye on the huge cinnamon roll but decided I needed something a little more filling. I was frozen so I ordered a chai latte. This is usually my go-to drink in the winter. I was almost tempted to get a yummy italian soda, but I couldn't feel my hands. An iced drink was not the way to good. All of the sandwiches and paninis sounded great so I just went with a classic favorite: turkey bacon melt. What I really noticed and appreciated about this place were the prices. Paying $5-6 +tip for a chai latte in Nashville is getting a little ridiculous. The prices here are very fair. I believe my chai was a little under $3.50 for a medium. The large was still under $4.00. There were a few people in the shop but we were able to find a big table to get some work done. My drink was out quickly and the food soon followed. The drink was hot and yummy. Warmed me up right away. The panini was also really good. It was crispy and hot with turkey, bacon, melted cheddar and gouda cheese, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo. Yum. I highly suggest this panini. I'm kicking myself for not getting dessert while there. I will be making a drive back to Murfreesboro just to try something from their bakery. I have gotten breakfast here before as they have quiche, frittatas, etc. those were always very tasty. I had never gotten the lunch until today. We recently moved closer so it was an easy walk over. I was debating between and turkey and roast beef wrap, any sandwich can be made a wrap. I went with the roast beef, so good! It had a lot of ingredients which I liked. What an absolute delight of a bakery. First off, the aesthetic of the place is great - very trendy and an enjoyable atmosphere. This is the type of place you can chill at for a few hours while cranking out a paper or working from your laptop. Between my boyfriend and myself, we ordered an iced vanilla latte, a quiche and three macarons. My latte was average and not sweet enough despite being loaded up with vanilla syrup. My oh my! I sought out this little gem based on yelp reviews and I am so glad i did! The modest storefront hides the serendipity that awaits once you step inside. You don't walk in and see cases and cases of cookie-cutter pastries, rather small displays of a handful of various delights, sweet and savory. These treats are baked in small batches, so no matter when you hit em up, the selection is fresh w a capital F! Love this little small town gem! We live outside of Murfreesboro so I wasn't even away there was a downtown. My kids were taking a class a few miles away so I hit up Yelp to find a coffee shop with good reviews nearby. Not only does this place have great coffee, it also has delicious pastries and breakfast quiches. Prices are excellent as well. I can get a large coffee and three pastries for $11. I showed my husband this place the other day, online, as a place to get a good healthy lunch on days he doesn't bring it. He stopped by this morning and brought me home a blueberry muffin for a morning snack. Oh WOW. It had more blueberries than muffin, and they were ripe and huge. It was the best blueberry muffin I have ever had. He also brought some macaroons that I haven't tried yet. He said the staff were really friendly and that they recommended those sweets to him. I came in around 830am on a Thursday after I dropped my car off across the street to get the oil changed. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant. The guy was very nice and warmed it for me and brought it to my seat, it was super yummy I also got a cinnamon roll to take home , haven't eaten it yet but it sure looks yummy. It was very quiet while I was there, although people came in while I was there and ordered food to go. I'm ok with that. Love the decor, it's kind of industrial with wood accents. This bakery is a welcome addition to the downtown area of Murfreesboro! We tried an assortment of baked goods and were impressed with all the goodies we chose. The carrot cupcake was my favorite-not too sweet, but full of spice. The Oatmeal Creme Pie was amazing! The cookie had a ginger surprise that was a nice twist on a classic, and the Creme to cookie ratio was just right! If you are debating which macaroon to chose, just do yourself a favor and get them all! You won't regret it! We haven't had the breakfast or lunch items yet, (yes we just went for desserts-don't judge me!) but the menu looked incredibly tempting for both! The prices are lower than I would expect to pay for this type of bakery, so that is a nice bonus. The only downside is parking, but that is the case with any restaurant in the downtown area. Excellent desserts. The pumpkin roll was soft and moist covered in sweet icing so big so yummy. The chocolate chocolate chip cookies were thick and just crunchy enough without being hard. My husband says the coffee was made for engineers very strong. I added a little extra cream and sugar so I could drink it. The atmosphere is awesome. There is a kids small play area on one side and a living room couch and chairs on the other end with plenty of tables in between. I got yelp just so I could rate this place. First of all, the coffee is SUPER cheap, and tastes great. Their pastries, sandwiches, basically all their food is delicious. My personal favorite is the molasses cookie and the loaded sausage and cheddar biscuit. Anytime me or my roommate have a bad day, I come here to buy a biscuit and a latte to cheer us up. Everything is well priced and you get way more for what you pay for than you would anywhere else. The staff is also very sweet, and know exactly what I'm gonna order as soon as I walk in. I've eaten here sooo many times and have never had a bad experience. They've never messed up my order, and the food has always been delicious. The inside is kinda like a warehouse, but looks really rustic. It's a great place to study or grab coffee with friends. It's almost always quiet and peaceful. The ham and swiss croissants and bacon and pepperjack loaded biscuits were delicious. My husband liked his croissant so much that he got a second to go. The macaroons are also outstanding. Giving it 3 stars because I wish I could get my breakfast at the same place as my coffee. I've tried their food on several occasions and have not been thoroughly impressed with them.
