We felt like the angels had arrived when Carrie came to the apartment to meet us and make a plan. She was so friendly, supportive and so capable. We liked her immediately. She worked with us to make a schedule for disposing of furniture and clothing locally and for packing and moving items to our homes, which were out-of-state. She found a moving company that would move a small load across the country, something many movers will not do. She coordinated with the moving company and with two other people who helped us dispose of furniture and clothing. She packed our mother's special belongings that were important to us, so we were confident that they would arrive at our homes safely and unbroken. And they did. In 2018, We were moving from an apartment to a house which was only an 8 mile trip. I called and a representative came to our apartment for an assessment. We were in the middle of packing so items were not quite move ready. The gentleman asked me where I worked which was none of his business mind you, and in red flag territory, but I was focused on getting this move done, so I let that go. He also asked if the woman present ( my wife ) was my mother, yes another red flag that we chose to ignore. He stepped out of the apartment called the office I presume and came back with a quote which was a little high, and then left. But because we were in a serious time crunch, the company had favorable reviews, and I like to support local family owned businesses, I called and left a voicemail accepting the quote. I lost three valuable days waiting for a call back that never came. We called back but never spoke to a human. I don't know why we were ghosted, and it might be possible that the high quote was to scare us off instead being straight with us out of some concern that I could not pay them, or simply of telling us they were fully booked or maybe the the third floor apartment was a concern. But that is only speculation. I do hold out the possibility that perhaps something serous like a family emergency might be a factor, but I still should have received a callback. I eventually called another company (ATHENS which I already left a yelp review for), they moved us without issue and they got my money because I did have a job. They even picked up new appliances we purchased on the way to our new home. I hope my experience with Taylor is the exception and not the norm.

It caused us some inconvenience when they said they won't be able to unload and unpack same day. So we spent the night without any furniture, clothes, or anything for the kitchen. As it was all stored overnight in their truck. The crew of 6 were friendly, did their work and hustled. They were responsive to our needs and always polite. We appreciated that. However what didn't work well for us is that we lost a cabinet in the move that they dropped and it got damaged! Post the move we also spotted a few prominent damages to our furniture like a full chip off our brand new mango wood breakfast table, a rip near the leg of our living room loveseat. Chips off night stands. And skid marks near the door trimming and hardwood Floors. The prominent one was the sliding door new closet cabinet that we just cannot use because of the crack and breakage at the top and back entirely. They need to take better care with the move especially when the crew changes hands to finish the job. And if you're considering them make sure you double check and verify how long will it take and cost upfront. We were told one thing and what ended up happening was different.

When I called and booked, I gave a description of what I had for furniture (2 beds, 2 tvs, couch, coffee table, 2 end tables, a small desk and boxes & bins. I was told that it sounded like It would be a couple hour move. The distance between locations is only three minutes. They arrived at my prior address at 8:30, and got started at 8:45. They did not finish unloading at the new address until 3:30. The two guys were nice enough, but I should have known from the minute they started, that there would be issues. One of the guys was complaining right off the bat about his job, his boss, etc. And would also just start conversations instead of loading up the truck. The other guy, had a bad back. So I can understand going a little slow, but how does that become my issue and having to pay more because they were going slow? They didn't seem to start picking up the pace Until I started to ask how much longer they were going to be. Another thing, one of them used the bathroom and didn't even flush. And a bigger issue, Was that I had a stepstool go missing. It was with all of the stuff to be loaded onto the truck, and it never made it to my new address. Which is really disappointing. I did end up tipping both of them, because it was hot, but honestly, I kind of regret that. The move cost me $1300. I will never recommend this company. This move should've taken half the time that it did. Really disappointed. Never again.
