In addition to this, it was soon discovered that her niece had a rare form of cancer, and soon after passed away. I am on Oahu and was able to call Maui Green Gardens and was able to speak with the owner, Quirino Hipoloti. Over the phone I ordered a Puakenikeni tree from his nursery to commemorate my friends niece and he hand delivered it to her doorstep. FINALLY a local horticulture shop that is well-stocked with quality products and EXCELLENT customer…read moreservice! After driving to our two big corporate box store nurseries, unable to procure a pretty common product, or any kind of customer service regarding availability, ordering, or the like, I felt pretty disillusioned, and more than frustrated. Pulling out my trusty Yelp app, I was able to locate Ohana Greenhouse and Garden Supply within several miles of my then-current location. Tucked into a long strip of warehouse's in Kahului's industrial area, behind a local fish market, I found a helpful worker who immediately offered me the assistance I was looking for and that is severely lacking elsewhere. Not only did they have the product I was looking for, but a quick look revealed a very nice assortment of amendments, potting supplies, and other items for the back yard horticulturist. I almost don't want to give away this secret reveal and keep it to myself, but they definitely deserve a shout out and two big (green) thumbs up!

If you're a genuine farmer, you plan ahead as much as you can (especially on an island who is at ther mercy of shipping containers & companies). I suggest reading the reviews with a grain of salt and just know that when you go in, you'll find all sorts of supplies, but like any store here in Hawaii, not one is going to have the exact thing you need in stock 24/7, 365. It's just not. You get used to it and get resourceful when you need. Again, just grateful to have Del's as an option for farmers here on Maui! Mahalo!

When you arrive to the store they tell you, "oh I don't know, the manager sells it, I don't know what time the manager arrives, he sells a little bit at a time." If that's the case, why does this store advertise on the website "available to purchase in store" if they're going to discriminate and decide who they want to sell to? I actually come here because within the store, you'll find a whole array of kitchen items and gadgets tucked away in a little corner. Growing up, I remember it used to be stocked with THE cutest Christmas items and decorations. I can't remember when the transition to kitchen goods happened, but adult me thinks it's great, lol. There are small appliances, high-quality knife selections, wooden utensils and plating, pots, pans, decorations and basically all the essentials that you would need for your home kitchen! You can also find some things here that you wouldn't normally find in other stores like an Ooni pizza oven, Japanese knives, and pretty tea sets. The ladies behind the counter are always so nice and helpful. On my last visit I was looking for items for an event and while I didn't find everything I needed, I found some cute bamboo tongs that were priced very reasonably. Other than the hardware, definitely stop in here sometime if you're looking for some kitchen goods too or maybe insulated Yeti bottles which line the wall at the entrance.
