Beautiful succulent nursery tucked away in Kula. Google maps isn't updated yet so here are the correct directions as they just moved recently: - turn onto Haleakala Highway - left at Omaopio Rd. (where the Waipuna Chapel is on the corner) - left at Lower Kula Rd (it is a T end so you can only turn left or right) - left at 1st paved culdesac (new gray concrete road with no street sign). - drive all the way down and on the left side, down an unpaved path, is 3rd Day Nursery. There is a tree and a built up kerb for you to drive onto the property. - park at the top on the grass (do not park in culdesac) - say hello to the 2 boxer dogs who will give you a friendly welcome Derek and his staff are full of info, his plants are cheaper than the big box stores and nurseries, you can buy pre arranged pots for a gift, bulk buy for your garden, even join in a class to make an arrangement which is soooo much fun. During a class you get to walk around the nursery with snips and choose your own cuttings to arrange, even more fun if you bring your own dish/driftwood/container/pot ;) If you are in Kula you have to stop by and say Hi to Derek and his dogs. I love this local nursery!!! The owner is so nice and always so helpful. His employees are super friendly and enjoy helping you find your perfect plant and even give you helpful tips as well! They have such a huge selection of succulents and even tropicals! I have been shopping here for years!!! I love to take my kids here and it's just a little adventure and always a fun time for them as well. The prices are reasonable and way cheaper than Home Depot and Lowe's! I LOVE THIS PLACE. I had to get that off my chest! Phew. Alright so I love succulents. Love them. I used to have a garden with some really cool plants--fun little fact for you. :) When I heard that a succulent place was open in Kula, I was really excited! I actually wasn't planning on going to the 3rd day nursery when I did, but since I was in Kula, I HAD to make the stop! I'm really glad that I did. Parking: I can see it being a little crowded, but I'm guessing that overflow can park elsewhere? It was pretty quiet when we were up there. Selection: AWESOME. For realz, there were so many plants to choose from. Big, small and everything in between. Some were just sitting in the little black containers and others were in bigger arrangements with other succulents. There were so many plants. Check out my photos to see. Prices: When we were there, they were having a weekend sale. The smaller plants were $4, slightly bigger were $6 and they went up from there. The bigger arrangements had their own price tag. Staff: Super nice and so full of knowledge. Jewels helped us decide what to get, told us how to properly care for it, and how to keep it colorful and thriving. It is so obvious that she loves her job and the customers. This is got to be one of the happiest places on Maui. Go up there and see why. Happy Shopping :) read more

Husband and I went up here for the first time on Aug 3rd 2020, must I say we were intrigued. Derek helped us out and he was very nice. Huge selection of succulents and other plants. Great prices! Definitely affordable! We were so happy with the first purchase we made that we HAD to go back the next day. We went and we met Justin and he as well was very nice. We walked out with a bunch of beautiful succulents on both days and it was definitely well worth the money! Buying these elsewhere you would definitely spend more! But they are very reasonable on prices and they are extremely nice THAT is what will keep us coming back. Will for sure be regulars there. We absolutely loved it and enjoyed it! read more

Attended the FREE succulent arranging workshop today and it was super informative and SO fun! Bring a container, choose/pay for your plants and they provide the soil and drainage rocks. The guys who work here are very patient and give wonderful lessons on how to arrange and care for your succulents. Today they even had fresh bananas for snacks. Just know there is not a restroom at the nursery so plan ahead. read more

It's so refreshing when a business owner/staff/employees are passionate about what they do, and these folks truly are. The folks we worked with were warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and generous. I have the opposite of a green thumb (black like death? Or red bc its opposite the color wheel?...either way, not green!) and I am in awe of the easy natural intuitive magic these guys put into producing and maintaining plant life. I have been to 3rd Day Nursery a couple of times and they are really awesome! I have walked around in a lot of nurseries and generally know what is what... But this nursery surprised me! Not only do they have a huge variety of succulents in different sizes and colors, they also have other plants that looked cool and stumped me on what to call them. Under a small shade tent in the middle of the nursery, there was a craft workshop with succulent arrangements that were creative and spectacular looking. On of them was the letters ALOHA carved in wood, filled with growing medium and being filled with succulents. It was a custom piece that I am sure is looking great in whatever home it went to.
