When a large banyan branch unexpectedly broke off, blocking the exit from our driveway, Climbing Hi responded right away. They efficiently removed the downed part, and with their professional gear did indeed 'Climb Hi' to remove the large broken branch. I am at a loss for words. Which doesn't happen often. The Climbing HI crew just left my property in Kula. They were here all day and were, by far, the best crew of tree trimmers I have ever seen in over 4 decades of living and farming this land! And I myself used to be a tree trimmer when I was still young. They were punctual, polite, professional, respectful, courteous and humble. What a great bunch of guys! The team at ClimbingHi was great to work with from the beginning call to get an estimate. I spoke with office personnel who were professional and informative. I mostly worked with Andrea who answered all my questions, gave me an accurate estimates to choose from and helped me with the timing of the schedule. The day of the tree removal, the guys were prompt, kind, reviewed the plan, were thorough, quick but had no compromise with safety. They were skilled and prepared. The tree was 40-50 ft tall Ficus Banyan and had huge branches in every direction and they handled it extremely well. They cleaned everything up and the job was done. They did exactly what I wanted and I will have them back to prune my mango tree. This company is great to work with and I would highly recommend them for any difficult arborist job. The skills of the two "monkeys" combers with equipment belts that weighed 50 lbs really know how to deconstruct a tree and have strength and stamina to finish a long job. Hmmm--ruined 2 beautiful trees. Cannot recommend. My first clue should have been when they wanted to come while the tree was flowering, then fruiting. My 90-year old dad, who used to do his own pruning, and I are heartbroken. As my dad said, "I've never seen anyone trim a tree like that before." read more

The owner of Climbing HI Cody Clark did not deliver on his promise to provide us a slab from the tree he cut down for us. Our Longan tree was 80+ years old, and huge with a 3ft diameter trunk. Cody told me that Longan wood was beautiful and rare, and he offered a discount and a slab if I would allow him to take the large trunk of the tree. I agreed to this and it was confirmed in writing when we accepted the quote. This tree was planted by the original family who owned the land before us, and it was a sentimental tree. I was planning to make something special out of this wood and gift it to the original family as an appreciation. Once the job was finished Cody's crew hauled away the large trunk and Cody said they would slab it soon. We paid in full promptly. After 6 months of excuses from Cody, we still did not have a slab. I continued to follow up for another 6 months. Finally his excuse was that the log burned up in a fire that passed through his baseyard. Cody never offered us another slab or to make this right in any way. So I gave up in frustration. This was a few years ago, and it still burns me till this day. read more

Climbing Hi trimmed three large trees and one small tree. They removed old trunks from coconut trees and left over logs from previous tree work that the other tree trimmers had left behind. They cleaned up everything extremely well. They know exactly what needs to be done and explained it all to me. I am so happy to have found a responsible, knowledgeable and efficient company. ClinbingHI was one of the few companies that followed thru and made an appointment to give me an estimate to trim my 30+ year old hayden mango tree. Once we got the estimate it took 3 weeks to schedule the trimming. The Crew arrived on schedule and completed the trimming and was all cleaned up and left the property within 4-5 hours. The property was cleaned of all rubbish and the work was done as specified. Note: I am an absentee landlord and this was all done via email and cel phone. My neighbors and tenants sent me pictures and I was very pleased with the end result. My tree was over 40' tall and had not been trimmed in the last 10 years. I asked to reduce the height to 20' and 20' diameter. Their lead person left more branches than I expected on the lower part of the tree and there is, maybe hope to get a Hayden Mango crop maybe in 2 or 3 years. In the past this tree would not give a Hyden mango crop for years after we trimmed it, even if it was a few branches. The tree just got too big and had to be trimmed. I would use this company again, sight unseen, based on internet reccommendations only. read more

I just moved to Maui recently. In front of my house was a beautiful tree that was in much need of trimming. Searching on the yelp website I found climbing high. Cody came out and looked at the tree, give me a bid for the work and came with a crew who did an outstanding job. Completely clean the area and now I have a beautiful tree in my front yard.
