The basic duties…read more(mowing, blowing, trimming, weeding) were done okay- maybe 3 stars BUT the management ( or lack there of) stinks. They were never around and didn't bother to check in during most of the 4+ years. While under contract, they verbally told us they needed a 66% increase in the monthly fees or they would stop providing services. They gave us 30 days to either respond and pay the ridiculous and unethical increase or respond and not have a landscaping company! I plan to submit a complaint to the BBB, and another complaint to the county for price gouging. Don't hire this company.

We have had them reclaim over an acre of overgrown "California grass" by grading and replanting with El Toro grass with a Bougainvillea hedge on the perimeter. They took a 50% deposit for a project that cost us less than a dollar per square foot and completed the transformation in an orderly, proper and very expeditious manner. They left our property in an immaculate state; cleaning and repairing any damage caused by the impressive fleet of heavy equipment they have. The lawn is an upgrade that we enjoy everyday. They also planted nearly an acre of Weedelia ground cover for us on the frontage of our property, veneered portions of our home and built pillars for our front gate with blue rock. We are constantly amazed at the depth of skills and services that they are able to coordinate at such reasonable price and predictable timetables. Their nursery is dangerously well stocked and tempting...along with large quantities of various ground covers and grass, we have purchased many unique varieties of anthuriums and both ornamental and edible pineapple plants from them. Their crew is efficient and well supervised and their accounting department is precise and polite in all dealings. If you want an experienced and conscientious staff to tackle your landscape and hardscape dreams, call Inoke or Vicky at Friendly Island Landscape, LLC...it will make your paradise the envy of your neighborhood!

I cannot recommend this company. Communication was very poor--it took multiple attempts to confirm…read morea day and time for the job we had agreed on. The contract stated that the work would include the removal of all trees and roots, hauling of green waste, and preparation of the ground for replanting. Unfortunately, the ground was never tilled or properly prepared as promised. The removal of several dozen small Lady Palms went smoothly, but when it came time to remove the roots, the job was not completed as agreed. Although I was told a jackhammer would be used for root removal, they instead tried to remove the roots by hand, which proved ineffective. Despite the incomplete work, the owner insisted on immediate payment. Afterward, he stopped responding to my messages ("ghosted" me). I have since had to remove many roots myself and still have a large portion remaining--work I now need to hire another company to finish. Additionally, the owner repeatedly tried to persuade me to hire him for unrelated projects, such as building a rock wall, which I declined. Bottom line: Poor communication, incomplete work, and lack of professionalism. Hire this company at your own risk.
