Here's an example how he's good and thinks out of the box. I bought the suggested Sonos sound bar mount but he suggested using his since the sound bar can move with the TV once we swivel it. If he used the Sonos mount, it was stay on the wall. He also suggested using the supplied HDMI cord Sonos supplied versus the 3rd party I got from Amazon. Unfortunately, the work done after the initial encounter was less than satisfactory. What happened is Steven indicated that he could take care of my broken water softener for me and I paid him $775 on 12/23/24. He attempted to remove the old softener and removed about half of what was buried as well as pulling out the resin tank. He left the resin tank near to where the old softener was located but he never removed the rank on the two subsequent times he came to my home. I finally moved it to the curb myself which was no easy task! He installed the new water softener 12/30/24 and was paid $1457 to do this; however, there were water leaks and he was not successful in repairing them. As a result, I had to turn my water off. Between 12/30/24 and January 2 twice indicated he would come out to work on my spa, but he was a no show on two. He did come out on January 2 and I paid him $475 for the component he said I needed for my spa. He was supposed to come back out on Jan 3rd, then on Jan 4th and didn't' make it either day. Unfortunately I was getting ready to leave town and he came out the day after I left Jan 7th . He knew I had a long trip planned and that I would be away. His office assistant called me Jan 6th while I was at the airport, to arrange for payment for the visit the next day. I was getting ready to board the plane and didn't call back or arrange for payment. It never occurred to me that he would come out. He did come out but no part was installed and no repair was made. Finally I was able to get my regular spa repair person to fix the system later this past year. What was an issue related to this latest planned purchase was that the part was never installed and no money was returned and on an even larger scale, he turned off the electricity to my home and after finishing LEFT IT OFF! I learned about having no power to the house two months later. Everything in refrigerator and freezer as lost and bear in mind that because of water leaks, my house water was turned off. I owe my cousin and a friend big time that I did not have to clean this up when I returned home. I don't know why he had to turn off the power to the house when there is as power box that turns off power to the spa alone on the wall right by the spa. When I spoke with Steven later in the summer after my return, the conversation did not go well. He did not apologize for leaving the power off and did not offer to make any financial adjustment for money's paid for services not completed. When I had my rep pipe done this summer, the plumbing company showed me the pipe causing all the issues. It was located very close to the side of the water softener that was still embedded in the ground. No doubt the pipe was cut by accident, but it was a serious inconvenience to be without water for six months. I definitely would not recommend J&S Plumbing and Steven, the plumber, for any plumbing work beyond the sprinkler system, and if you have work done on your sprinkler system, I would make sure that you check and verify what the costs are going to be and make sure you get a receipt. I definitely would not recommend him for other work and the fact that he has not even considered making any adjustment to the amount of money I paid prior to completion of work, I think is unethical. Certainly, he deserves some compensation for his effort, but I should, for instance, be reimbursed for the $775 for the spa part that was not installed.
