We had the perfect wedding day thanks to Simple Maui Wedding and I couldn't be happier with their team. We started the planning process in April and got married in November at Wailea Beach Resort. Due to Hurricane Lane, our wedding and time in Maui didn't go quite to plan. A few days before our wedding date, Simply Maui contacted us to say there may have to be some changes to our wedding due to the hurricane, which is understandable. They noted that the venue, officiator, and musician would stay the same but that our time/day of wedding would have to altered: night before or morning of. We opted for morning of, when the peak of the hurricane was supposed to be later that evening. On the morning of, everyone showed up as promised but we definitely got the vibe no one really wanted to be there and were putting in just the bare minimum effort (except for our officator, he was nice). Definitely not what we envisioned and paid for. Coordinator was "there" but not really there. She facilitated the wedding, but definitely not up to the caliber we expected given the cost of the package we paid for. Photographer was nice but the entire photo session felt very rushed and unorganized, unlike what I've seen from other wedding photographers who are able to corral the crowd and get the kinds of photos they want to shoot. It's unfortunate that we had such an amazing experience with a different photographer for our engagement photos and then to have Simply Maui's photographer mandatorily added to our wedding package. I'm aware that there was a "natural disaster" incoming but to rush us through our special moment and put in minimal effort is unacceptable in my mind. read more

My husband and I used Simple Maui Wedding for our destination elopement in July of 2018, and we absolutely loved our experience! Coordinating the details of the wedding through email and by phone was easy and not at all anxiety-inducing, even for a control freak, type A person like myself from over in the continental US. We were able to select our date, time, location, bouquet, and photo package without any fuss. They also helped us coordinate with a videography company for our videography needs. We had selected SMW mostly for the photos we had seen on their website. We truly loved all of our photos, and our photographer was so sweet and made us feel very comfortable. We also really appreciated the option to purchase our full collection of photos, which we did. The only hiccup we had with the photography was that we had specifically noted wanting some shots at a specific location at the beach we selected when we booked, but on our wedding day, our photographer didn't know we had wanted those shots and we ran out of time. We ended up booking a portrait session a few days later at that location with our same photographer, but we would have preferred to have had the time for this on our wedding day so we wouldn't have had to drive out to the location again and go through getting hair and make up done again. All in all, our wedding was a dream, and we can't thank SMW enough for helping us make it happen! Let me start my review with saying my wedding was a unique situation.. the potential hurricane Lane turned tropical storm came on my wedding night.. So Simple Maui was on top of it, very proactive with keeping the same vendors and changing the wedding as needed. We changed from a sunset to a morning wedding (10:00 am).. They offered the night before and a Sunday night but not all our guests would still be in town or were yet to be in town. All vendors stayed the same except my wedding coordinator. I was assured months and months in advance that my on site coordinator would do this and that, and blah blah. Because this was my first wedding, my first time in Maui and my first time at 5 Palms. So, everything was fine, I was fine with the change in time, fine with the wind, and the sprinkles, it was still HOT and humid. Fine. But, my coordinator was not very good. There were too many moments when we were like, what now? where do we do go? where's the bathroom, hows my hair? My dress had a mermaid look with a small train, it got wet and very heavy. And muddy.. I was having a hard time with it. Especially for photos. People were stepping all over it. And my coordinator did nothing. She couldn't help me out with some photos? she was useless. I honestly think any Joe off the street would have been just as good. Which is too bad because I was assured she would walk us through everything and it would make sense once we were there... I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had with Simple Maui Wedding! There is nothing "simple" about the level of service and professionalism this wonderful company has to offer! My husband and I were married on Po'olanalana beach at sunset. Marissa had emailed and called prior to make sure we knew where to go and what to do, even giving us her cell number in case we had any last minute issues. Naomi and the other photographer even ended up getting wet to achieve the best pictures, now that's dedication! We literally selected the location, photos, minister, and flowers and then showed up. EVERYTHING was thought of and prepared for us, down to a list of vendors for hair/makeup/limos. Marissa even checked to see how many other couples had pulled permits for the same beach that evening so they could plan the best part to take us to photograph. Logan and I both live in Arizona, but dreamed of a small destination wedding. Simple Maui made it so easy to make that dream come true! I was told on multiple occasions I was a very stress-free bride and they are the reason why. The planning was made incredibly easy and our coordinator the day of was amazing. The pouring rain made for a rough start, but she remained positive and provided all the guests with umbrellas. She even gave up her own, at the expense of becoming completely drenched. Thankfully the rain gave up quickly and the sky made for some incredible photos. If you are thinking about having a destination wedding don't just think about it, do it. It was the best decision ever, especially in Maui. We were blessed to come across Simple Maui Weddings. Since day 1 they have been so kind and patient with us. We got married last month in June but originally supposed to marry a year ago but something came up. They were very understanding and know life happens. They were so kind to work with us in setting our new wedding date and were with us step by step with making our dream destination wedding come true. Our wedding was PERFECT! We could not have done it without SMW! The whole process went very smooth and efficient. Communication is key with any relationship and it was a beautiful relationship. There was plenty of details to choose from to make your wedding as different and special as you want. We chose an elopement package, just the two of us, on Polo Beach in mid June at sunset. It was SURREAL. Trying to plan a wedding thousands of miles away is difficult. But, SMW made it feel like they and the wedding was down the street. Their services were worth every penny! First of all, Cheynice our photographer was AMAZING! She was super sweet & very personable! She took amazing photos and made sure to get all the shots we wanted! We couldn't have been more pleased. She went above and beyond! Thank you so much for being a part of our day! Our officiant Ricardo was wise, kind, humorous, and a pleasure to share our day with! His Hawaiian attire and traditions incorporated into the ceremony were very special. Our onsite coordinator was great. She made sure everything was right, and our nerves were at ease!
