We were going to Maui for our baby moon. Doing a beach front maternity photoshoot was a must. We found Better Together on Yelp. I immediately loved their style and how they captured the beauty of the island. I sent a Yelp inquiry and got a response right away. We went over dates and ideas. I went to their instagram and that is what sealed the deal. We booked the date and time (7am) 15-minute shoot. The day before the shoot, Marcelo, texted me with confirmation and answered all my questions. Fast forward to the shoot morning. We met at the beach they recommended, DT Fleming, which was stunning. We met Marcelo at the nearby burger shack. He was super friendly and easy to work with. We like quick photo shoots so he was able to direct and take photos super easily. The WORST decision of my trip was booking Better Together Photography. From poor communication to forgetting to send us our once in a lifetime baby moon pics and on top of that forgetting to edit once they did send. These folks are definitely operating on Maui time. Wasted $1000 for the worse service ever. Got me ! Proceed with caution because he looks good but doesn't walk the talk. Refused to send me the email thread showing the time stamp which he claims he sent. Responded to me in a text message and now blocked me from further contact. Claims I should spend my money on removing my tattoo which I asked him to edit. Very forgetful and spacey guy. Poor business man. No wonder he couldn't make it in the states guy lives on his own time. He has even deleted access to my photos so I can no longer view them. I am going to have to sue this guy now. read more

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Maui this month. Before the trip, I was looking for a photographer to capture our special milestone. I received quotes from multiple photographers in Maui but I was drawn to Better Together Photography. When I looked at their gallery, there was something magical captured in their photos and I told this to Tyson. And sure enough, I made the best decision. We had our session with Sarai. Our original photoshoot was in Kapalua but it was cloudy and drizzling. She told us ahead of time about changing the location as she wants us to have a great session. Sarai was easy to work with. The best part is her directing us on what to do or how to pose as we are not used to it. Their turnaround time is 10-14 days. I requested to have a few ready for our anniversary day and Tyson did everything he could to fulfill his promise. For that, I am absolutely grateful . I also want to thank Sarai. If you want beach pics then you found your place. Excellent communication before the session. Tyson shot our family and he was right on time and texted that he was very close. We choose a sunrise session which was on an amazing day in Maui. Tyson picked beautiful green locations for pics along with awesome beach shots. My son had a blast taking pictures in the sand and water. He was very comfortable and loved posing (and getting wet). Tyson captured our family perfect on film and as a result we had a difficult time choosing our portraits. Our pictures proofs were provided quickly. Once we picked our pics and paid then our final pictures jpg files were sent (8x10 is coming via snail mail). They also have a nice studio near the center of Lahiana and there you can see your proofs on a big screen along with looking at different printing samples which include metal. You don't have to go to the studio as you can review when you get home if you are at the end of your vacation. I'm so glad I followed the advice of fellow yelpers. This place is a gem. read more

Best part of our trip! We had a large group photo session with Tresseca. We were in Kaanapali for Grandpa's 75th birthday. There were 13 of us including young children. She came out to our resort and spend an hour with us taking pictures of the large group as well as smaller group shots with the kids and individual families. I booked an early morning photoshoot (7AM to be exact!) with Better Together Photography. We arrived 10 minutes early and Tyson was already there prepping for the shoot. He greeted each member of my 6-person family (2 adults, 4 kids) with a smile and a hand shake. I knew from that moment we'd have a wonderful, positive experience. Tyson led us to some of his favorite spots at Kapalua Bay and worked tirelessly, but always with a bright smile, to capture the essence and personality of each family member. We finished the shoot not overtired or ready to go back to sleep, but wanting to spend the rest of the day on the beach reliving such a wonderful photo session. There was a bit of a delay in receiving the proofs from the session, but they did have a hurricane and a fire to deal with. I can't say enough good things about Better Together Photography. I worked with Kati to schedule the appointment, and she was quick to respond, suggested several great locations and was very professional. Tyson was the photographer assigned to our shoot, and he was so nice, professional and good at what he does! He did an amazing job getting my kids to take great photos (which is not always an easy task). He was so patient and suggested such good settings and poses. We had the Aloha session, but he spent more than the hour we were allotted getting photographs. I also loved how three days later we were able to visit their studio and see the photographs and get the digital versions to take home with us from our trip right then and there. Plus, we have the option to purchase additional prints, metal prints, albums, etc. and they all include free photoshop retouching.
