After inquiring with several photographers, I decided to go with them because I loved the way they used light to capture the beauty of the people and beautiful scenery. Wow, am I glad I chose them. From the start, they were amazing to work with. I was not sure what location(s) I wanted to take photos at and Bri provided several options and sample photos that they took at each location so that I could make an informed decision about where I wanted to take the pictures. They also use an online portal to make the engagement process super quick and easy. When the day of the photoshoot arrived, Bri and Josh made the photoshoot so fun and relaxed! They were so down to earth and easy to talk to, and suggested poses for me and my husband so that we did not have to awkwardly stand there wondering what to do haha! It was such a fun experience and I loved every second of it. Now, the best part -- Bri sent over some sneak peek pictures and I am obsessed with how beautiful they turned out. Their talent is out of this world and they are worth every penny. I tried to book WPP for my vacation dates and even though I had a contract and had reserved the…read moredate by putting a deposit down, WPP tried to ask me to reschedule. I refused and that's when they revealed that they had double booked with a wedding. They told me either I had to change the date or they would refund me. They made it out to seem as if it was an accident but it was a Saturday night and to me, someone probably asked to book them after I had already had a contract and they decided to put the wedding first because it brings in more profit. To me, that's pretty bad business etiquette. Why bother making clients pay a deposit to reserve the date if you're going to cancel on me when something better comes along? I told them I was pretty disappointed but they didn't offer any additional solutions. In all fairness, they were nice to talk to, their portfolio looks great, and their prices are decent but even though I did have other dates available, I no longer trusted them and did not want to work with them anymore. But now it's late and I haven't found another photographer so we're no longer doing photos in Hawaii which I do blame them for. Hence the one star review.

I was referred to John through a friend who also had pictures taken with Lahaina Photography. She sent me his website where I tried to contact him, but kept receiving an error message. Instead, I reached out to John via Lahaina Photography's Facebook page listed on their website. I sent a private message and John was quick to respond setting up a date. We had one phone call to arrange locations. While John is located in Lahaina, I was staying in Kihei. He was nice enough to meet our family early Saturday morning just after sunrise in Kihei. It was a fun, casual photo shoot. I have a 16 month old daughter so I wasn't really interested in something too formal. John was very patient with my daughter. She did go into full tantrum mode (for most of the shoot ugh!) and he handled it with such patience. We ended up getting a few great shots of her as well as us as a family. I enjoyed speaking with John about island life, his adventures growing up on the island as well as his former military life where he learned to take professional photos. His rates are also incredibly reasonable. I would absolutely recommend John and Lahaina Photography. Within a couple days, I received a few edited pictures from him through a link on his website. Within a week I had all images some edited, some raw through a link on his website. He also mails all (100+) images on CD. This was a super fun addition to our trip and I'm glad we were able to capture some pics of our first vacay as a family! Also, he takes CC or cash.

He suggested a beautiful location that we would not have found otherwise and on the day of our photo shoot he was early and met us exactly where we expected. I thought we'd spend about 30 minutes with him, but he spent much more time with us and took hundreds of pictures. He was very patient with our children and took beautiful pictures of them acting natural (not posed). After the photo shoot, he got the digital pictures to us in a really reasonable amount of time. Our family pictures turned out beautiful and we could not be more happy! I'm hoping we can return to Maui in a few years and we will definitely contact John again for updated pictures!

She was very responsive and straight to the point. I like that I was able to book her immediately because she provided the contract & deposit instructions in the first email. She made it incredibly easy for me. When we got to Maui, Amy was able to help us choose a location and time to shoot. We ended up shooting at a beach 5 min away from our hotel in Wailea. Amy took really beautiful photos and even asked us if there were any specific shots that we wanted. It was a smooth shoot from beginning to end. Amy sent us a "sneak peak" photo couple days later and wow.. we were impressed! She even submitted that photo to an advertising campaign for a local hotel and our photo was chosen :) I received my USB today in the mail with all the photos and I am really satisfied w/ the photos.
