Fish and chips
Why-Tie Z.

An absolute gem, and so far one of the best fish and chips, I personally ever had. The fish and chips are very juicy. Very good quality of fish, and I also like the crunchiness and the taste of the batter. Definitely recommend going for the fish and chips. The lobster soup was also very good. It was not as creamy and it had small pieces in it. I think overall the price value ratio is really good. You get a lot for a affordable price of the quality and taste is absolutely amazing. I also liked the tuna raw tuna at the bar but I would definitely skip the paella next time.

Seafood heaven, Get a heaping plate of seafood for one at 32€,for two at 60€ or for three people at 75€

Fellow yelpers were right about this place. It is THE place to go to try their famous perch. Any of the restaurants along the dock would be a good place to try seafood but Simonis is a bit of a tourist trap but you should still go for the experience. Seems to be a right of passage into the Netherlands. A must try is their famous perch. They've won multiple awards. We tried it inside a hoagie like bread, which is award winning alone in my book. We decided on some deep fried fish. For the amount you pay ,you get a ton of food! Definitely get just a few to share. The calamari is a must try too. If you're celebrating and want a nice spectacle on your table, get a large castle of seafood. It starts at 30 euros and tops off at 90. Lobster, crab, ..u get the point. There is a long line but a short wait. You're in line to order, pay and find a seat. Say a prayer...you'll need it to find a seat. Wait for your number to be called and pick it up. You'll feel like a sardine but it's in good fun. There's a restroom inside the place surprisingly. You'll want to wash off all the grease and smell of the ocean from your hands.

Delicious seafood with great variety

Out of all the seafood restaurants where I've eaten, Simones is THE BEST. The restaurant is a little noisy and crowded but that is only because people from all over the Netherlands come to eat there (with good reason). All year long the food is fresh and tastefully prepared. The place is famous for its delicious and affordable haring: something which every tourist in the Netherlands should taste! Well deserved reputation!

Seafood GALORE!!! My long-lost childhood friend now lives in the hague so of course, our roadtrip to the netherlands requires that we see each other. She and her bf took us here and we are soooo grateful! At first, when we parked next to the seafood warehouse market (free parking), we got a little nervous and wandered what type of mafia is doing their work there, but once inside the restaurant the atmosphere is live like much of the seafood they sell. Popular in the netherlands is apparently herring, but we skipped that. The fish and chip here is a MUST here - various types of fish to choose from with HUGE portions from 10-14EUR. One friend ordered the "poon" for its name. we dont know how it translates but it was my favourite! I had the grilled seabass - it was good but a bit expensive and nothing like the fried foods. The calamari is amazing too. There are lots of flavours of dressings on the side for self-serve. I dont know what they mean, but they were all great. The service is what you would expect from the dutch - not that great, and their menu is in dutch, so it's kinda difficult to find someone to help you translate... Final advice? Just come here and eat some fish.

Lobster, large shrimp in Spanish sauce, herring, everything!!

Delicious seafood - good prices. Affordable wines and what you don't finish, you take with you. Perfect for kids and large groups (although depending on the time, expect a wait). Been there a couple of times, always loud and crowded - but always worth it.

Fish, oysters

Ine stat less because there's always overcrowded. Everything else's super. For the first time in my life tried oysters and I liked.

Common sole

Loved the common sole here! Definitely get that! We got the herring too just to try. Recommend 3 pieces instead of 6 like we got!

Nice seafood and fish place in the middle of the fishing port of The Hague. Can't get it any fresher. Atmosphere is simple but kind of cool, little bit like fast food. Fish is really fresh, we had herring and mussels and salmon, all very good and fresh but lacking a little in terms of presentation and condiments. The lobster soup was spectacular. We paid 85EUR in three, including wine. That's very fair.

Not much more to add to previous comments. Great place for a quick maatje or shrimp sandwich.

Great food, busy and interesting eatery right on the harbor. Lots of people watching and fish and seafood shop right on the premises. Fun!

es. The Dutch like the 'Haring' which is like a raw-ish herring, supposed to be eaten with onions and by holding the tail up and eating it upside

The restaurant itself is beautiful and two stories; make a reservation and you've got the perfect date night. Mine and I started with the teriyaki eel appetizer, Peking duck pancake wraps, and crispy pork belly. To my pleasant surprise, the eel was smoked and I loved it as a favorite. This starter was so good, we came back the next day to eat it again! The Peking duck pancake was filled with 2 thick juicy pieces of duck and a line of hoisin. The crispy pork belly was served with just a bit of king crab, but I would've liked a little more for the taste. We had two sushi's, the daily special and a smoked salmon roll. Ooooh the special was the best flavor in my mouth as it was stuffed with cucumber and Walmart, then topped with a delicious smoked salmon mayo mix and crunchy noodles. I've never had smoked seafood in sushi as good as this! Their wasabi isn't your typical green paste, but rather a fresh in house mix like the texture of verde salsa. I usually steer away from wasabi but this was made so well I actually had a dab in each bite. When I visit Holland again, I will definitely come back to Catch.

Food is good. Service is clumsy. Best fish restaurant in The Hague by the harbour. Highly recommend.read more

You gotta…read moreget all three components in one bite; the octopus is nice and meaty, and the ink adds a really nice extra depth of flavor. It's a massive tentacle though, so I'd say it's good for two people. The black tuile was also really good; it had a sweet note to it. The monkfish was good - perhaps a tad tough - but tbh, I felt that the marinated fennel carried the dish. Without it, the other components are just kinda "singing by themselves." The coffe creme brûlée was great, but the coffee flavor is VERY strong. The hazelnut ice cream & the crumble balanced it all out, but there unfortunately wasn't nearly enough of either on the plate. I also tried some of my dad's orange panna cotta. It was nice - VERY orangey. - Ambience was very nice. Very clean, bright restaurant with a seafood vibe to it, overlooking the water. Lot of outdoor seating too. We received our food very quickly - probably 10 minutes after ordering. After that though, service was very sporadic. We waited a while for both our desserts and the bill. For that reason, I'm deducting a star, but also because the place is so pricey. Though I suppose you're consciously signing up for that if you come here. My dad also wanted me to note that the fries are very... full, I suppose. They have a nice "fullness" to them.

The sushi rice was still cold from the fridge, making the tuna roll an appetizer I wouldn't choose again. The protein portioning on the daily special was more conservative than the regular menu entrees, and the fish on several of our table's dishes were slightly overcooked. Crème brulées were tastier than the flans, which were both a bit too firm. The blueberry flavors lent a more balanced sweetness than the coffee c.b., and the mellow licorice accompanying the pineapple flan made for more interesting flavors than the peach one. Frankly, the long wait between courses dissuaded us from sending anything back. Two and a half stars. Outdoor seating fills up fast, probably because it gets quite warm inside. Service was charming and spoke great English, but incredibly slow even after the restaurant empties out. Even as someone who's typically ambivalent to gin, I have to admit that their G&T's are delicious. Who would've thought that my favorite course at a seafood restaurant would be dessert? I won't be returning to De Dagvisser, given the abundance of seafood-serving alternatives in the Hague.
