Service is great and doctor is amazing. Why 2 stars? Their billing folks are horrible. You may be served a bill 6 months after with crappy reasons like "oh your insurance didn't qualify for the full benefit and only paid X amount and therefor you owe us money." Usually billing is clear and there are billing codes for the services. But their billing department is either incompetent or turning blind eye. As a customer you would have no knowledge because the office will still charge you copay but you will never know if you owe them money because no one bothered calling insurance to see what was covered. If I was Dr Mckitty, I would either send their billing folks to training or simply hire a more competent staff. read more

I went in for a mole removal. The staff was super friendly! They asked me if I have any concerns in my skin. I had told them no I was just there for a mole removal. Dr McKitty entered & removed it in less than 5 mins! It was honestly quick & easy service. 0 pain as well. I had gone to a different dermatologist a month prior to remove a mole & it HURT SO MUCH!!! I am glad I found this office Dr McKitty has a 10/10 service quick & 0 pain!!!! I will definitely be coming back for more services. I scheduled an appt for secret RF micro needling but the nurse and doctor recommended fraxel instead. My objective is to remove scars and I've done similar treatments to RF M and it didn't help as much as I wanted. I appreciated the advice from them and I love how they told me it wouldn't hurt! It did hurt but was actually more tolerable than another treatment I've done in the past. Overall, they offered me great service and I would totally recommend them! I'm going back for two more treatments and I also like to add that they have a covid special on some of their treatments. My skin looks great after the first treatment thus far! read more

My hair stylist found what looked like a melanoma on my scalp Saturday. I was pretty frantic and on Monday I reached out to this office. They had no openings until the following week, but decided I sounded frantic enough and squeezed me in on Tuesday. Dr. McKitty was wonderful, told me immediately it wasn't a melanoma. She scraped it off to send to pathology. She also froze some other spots on my hand and face. The entire office was so professional and nice! I will be using Dr McKitty from now on for serious stuff and Botox, etc.! read more

I called to make an appointment with Dr.McKitty and the rep gave me a date for November 6, 2020. I confirmed with the rep for that date since it was in a Sunday but she confirmed all three times with the date of 11/6/2020. I come to the office at 11/6/2020 all the way from Lancaster and the office is CLOSED. I was furious!! I then called them left a a few messages and they called me back and told me my appointment is in December 6, 2020. I told them the rep confirmed 3 times about the November date. I gave them my new insurance information over the phone and I asked how much my co payment was going to be they gave me the price and when I got there on my appointment date she said my co payment was $25 MORE then what she had told me... Worst experience I recall you losing my mothers information and your receptionist yelling at my own mother who is always polite to everyone. I recall you telling me to wear sunscreen and it literally gave me acne so I don't wear anymore and my skin is fine with store bought skincare. This was my very first appointment and was told by the receptionist that everything was covered by my insurance. I was assured that I wouldn't be charged for my less than 30 minute appointment. This appointment was in August and I have not gone back since nor have I heard anything from them since. Four months later, out of nowhere, I received a $212 bill in the mail for that same appointment. I am extremely upset and will be giving the office a call to try and sort this out. Really hate to write this review, because I like Dr Mc Kitty and Myrtle. But today !!! I received a call from someone in her office that left my blood boiling. She was calling in regards to an overdue bill and she did not leave her name. When I called back, she still did not introduce herself. I ended up asking her name but have since forgotten, probably due to all of my boiling blood. She calls me to tell me I owe upwards of $400.00 since April of 2018 and she is going to send me to collections next month. WHAT !!! I have NEVER received a bill from this office with that amount and furthermore, I have been to the office NUMEROUS times since APRIL 2018 and no one mentioned ANYTHING about an outstanding balance. So quite naturally I am less than thrilled. I proceed to state to the employee that this office has dropped the ball in a major way. MAJOR. I tell her that I have not received statements relative to these charges. She argues and tells me that I have. WHAT ! I tell her I have previously received a phone call stating that a prior bill mailed to me have been returned and to confirm my address. I did and that bill was paid. It was around $40.00. NOT $400.00 Along with ALL of my bills. I DO NOT let bills sit around and go unpaid. She tells me they have sent out TWELVE statements as that is the documentation in front of her. I again tell her, regardless of what is written down in front of her, NOTHING was received. Again, I tell her they dropped the ball and need to accept and understand my frustration. I then proceed to ask her why was it not brought to my attention over the past 2 years at one of my MANY visits. She states they don't want to hound patients regarding their bills, they want to provide treatment. If I owe so much why continue to treat, makes no sense. I then ask if there were TWELVE statements mailed with no response from myself, why wasn't I contacted after statement #5, #6, #7 etc. WHY am I just now being contacted ??? Days before they intend to send me to collections !!! This is poor service and reflects badly on what I consider a good doctor. Unfortunately it is most likely one I will not be seeing outside of my visit next week because this is completely unacceptable. In addition, as I was giving my rant to the employee who called me to warn me that I was being sent to collections for a bill I NEVER RECEIVED, she decided that she would accept no responsibility and disconnected the call. Although she gave me a brief warning that she was about to do so. Just as brief as the warning I received about being sent to collections !!! It is also worth mentioning. The last time I made an appointment with this office I booked online. I am in the parking lot ON THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT, within 5 minutes of my appointed time, PARKING, and I receive a telephone call from someone with in this office, telling me the office is closed. WHAT ??!! I have an appointment. She then tells me that I booked online and the office never called to confirm, thus my appointment is NOT VALID. What is the point of an online system and how is this office being run. I'll answer that. POORLY !!! Get better staff Dr McKitty. You're a good doctor but your staff affects.your reputation just as much as your service. And they are ruining your practice. EXCEPT MYRTLE. She is amazing ! read more

This office is very unprofessional. I made and appt. to have Juvederm well over a month in advance. About 4 days before appt. someone called and left a message to confirm my appt., even though I called about a week prior myself to confirm my appt. Then when I tried to call, no one answered the phone after multiple tries. I left a message with no response. Then two days before the appt. someone left a message that they had cancelled my appt. and moved me into the next month on a Fri., even though they say they only have Sat. appt. for this procedure. I didn't authorize this cancellation. So I tried calling back, and again no answer of the phones and left two messages on two separate phone numbers. I must have called every hour they were open with no one answering. Obviously avoiding a call from a potential patient with a complaint. Then one of the personnel convincined me to buy one of their products for $200, saying how it lessens wrinkles and helps with texture of skin. I used the product for almost 2 months with no results. What a sham. One of the staff brought the product to me in the parking lot and pulled her mask down to show me she uses this product. I was a little taken back because she had multiple lines around her mouth area that looked worse than mine. I had already made the purchase at this point. These people are totally unprofessional and make bogus claims. I will be sending a letter to the Dermatology Board regarding ethics. No ethics found. Don't go here, please. I honestly was afraid to go to the dermatologist for years due to the fact that I didn't think they would listen and just prescribe me and go and push products on you. Let me start by saying thank you to Dr.mckitty, she sat down , listened to me, talked about options and really cared. I am suffering with adult/hormonal acne and had a consult with Dr. Mckitty yesterday. She is so pleasant , informative and takes her time with you. The staff is friendly & Dr. McKitty herself seems like a nice person. However they are very financially motivated which makes it seem like they don't generally care about the patient, just the money. Saw her a few times early 2019 for acne and she was constantly trying to get me to have a procedure done that would cost a few thousand dollars (which my acne was not as bad as it should be for that procedure) or give me topical creams sold directly from her office, which were way over priced. I asked for prescriptions instead. They also tried to bill me for some injections which I never received. In the end I got it all resolved and went to a different dermatologist, but it all seemed like a very sketchy situation. read more

I came to see Dr. McKitty on Tuesday afternoon of this week, coming from a low point with the way I was feeling about my psoriasis condition and the way it was affecting my health and wellness. Dr. McKitty and her staff were beyond compassionate. She gave me a topical cream that subsided my flare-ups, and has me beginning a treatment biologically in a few weeks. But more than the treatment plan, her understanding of what this means for someone who suffers, combined with suggestions of a holistic approach to self care, had me feeling like I was in the hands of someone who wants to help others heal. I left feeling optimistic, which was polar opposite of the way I felt entering the office. Came here for microneedling 2x so far for acne scars and have seen great results already! The texture, redness, and scars have visibly improved to the point where I don't even want to wear makeup. Dr.McKitty was amazing and so was the staff! They are very nice and informative on all things! I went in because I having a skin problem on my back when she was looking she also noticed my moles. I'm fair skinned and have a lot, she was very thorough in looking at them as well I didn't even ask her to but just the concern she had for my well being was beyond flattering. I did end up waiting a while before she came in which I absolutely hate waiting I wasn't going to come back because of it but when she was in the room I understood why they run behind she takes her time to talk to you and answer all questions and concerns you have and goes above and beyond to notice anything else you might need. In turn that made up for all the waiting. I have never had a Dr. ever sit there and listen to all your concerns and truly care. They were also able to squeeze me in for a chemical peel that day. The girl Melanie who did it was amazing and so sweet and informative! Over all I would highly recommend this dermatology office to everyone I know! P.S. I made an appointment with Dr. McKitty at the recommendation of my MD. Surprised and happy to get an appointment the following day. She took care of some bumps on my nose and gave me samples of 2 products to help with redness on my face which I had gotten so used to that I didn't even notice. She's recently taken over the practice from another dermatologist and they are updating things like the voicemail and the online scheduling tool which doesn't work very well, offering you times that aren't open. When I called to make sure I even had an appointment I was told that the website never notified them, so they definitely have some kinks to work out. So if you call after hours and get a somewhat odd voicemail greeting, they are working on updating it. I've scheduled another appointment for a thorough, head-to-toe examination. read more

Today was my first time going to Dr. McKitty's office and I must say, I am glad I discovered her. I had to leave my last dermatologist due to her rude, inconsiderate staff and her lack of respect for her client's time. And I must say my FIRST time at Dr McKitty's office outshines my past dermatologist by far. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff who are ACTUALLY personable and seem to ACTUALLY want to help you (not the case at my last dermatologist office). My wait was about 10-15 minutes, nothing major. And I must say the decor in the lobby is gorgeous, right up my alley. Dr. McKitty and her staff have set up a very welcoming lobby. Once in the room, the nurse was friendly and very personable as well, I forgot her name, but she made my first visit a pleasing one. Dr McKitty is professional, courteous and straight to the point, which I loved! I have found my new dermatologist! My last few experiences at my past dermatologist were met with rude, attitude filled front office staff. The dermatologist would have you waiting in the lobby for AT LEAST 30 minutes and then see you for all of 2 minutes. Just terrible and unacceptable. I went to Dr McKitty's office and got Botox!!! For a while it seemed to never work for me and now that I'm in my 40s I have to make sure I age gracefully!! Her PA was in, Kimberly Pierson. She was AMAZING! She figured out that I wasn't getting enough Botox yet she really didn't give me a lot. I got my forehead and In between my eyes and I swear everything looks so natural! Although the wait in the lobby was what i would consider excessive, the experience I had with Kimberly and Melanie was wonderful. The listened to me list my concerns and they came right back with answers and examples of things i can do to better my skin. Kimberly asked what products I used and she told me what she recommends for my type of skin. She offered me extractions and some skincare samples to take home (lots of samples!) Melanie did the extractions and was very gentle. The asked me to follow up in a few weeks to see how my skin was doing and I look forward to seeing the staff again and providing an update. read more

I am not posting here to comment regarding Dr. McKitty as a dermatologist. To be honest, Dr. McKitty was friendly on the day of my office visit. This review is regarding the etiquette and ethics of the office as a whole. I have been waiting since 2015 for a billing issue to be addressed and cleared up. I have been patient and understanding. I do not like to leave negative reviews for small businesses, but I am extremely disappointed in the professionalism of this office. The last I heard from the office was in June of 2016 stating that they had contacted a representative to assist them on resolving my case. No one ever contacted me again. Nothing. I believed that the issue had been resolved. Now all of a sudden, 9 months later, I have received a collections notice. Very disturbing. They will not address the mistake that was made on their part on the day of my office visit. Beware, if you are a cash patient - they will send out for lab testing without your consent and without giving you the option to decline and you will be billed. Just a suggestion to the office, please give patients the option to decide (and giving the benefit of the doubt, maybe you actually do, but in my case you did not and it has created a very unpleasant situation). read more

Dr. McKitty is nice and her staff is friendly, but I had a bad experience in the end. I first visited her practice in 2016 for an overall skin checkup. I was disappointed the first time I met her because she seemed to rush through the exam. So I found another dermatologist and she seemed much more thorough and even removed a mole. I decided to try Dr. McKitty again in late 2017 when I found a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot. Well, I should have gone with my first instinct about her because that turned out very badly. Basically I had two treatments using the "beetle juice" and now have a far greater problem in the end. With each treatment, the wart spread and is now at least 3 to 4 times larger than it was initially. This treatment also causes a very painful blister that lasts at least a week. Her assistant allowed the juice to run down my foot a little and I ended up with a larger blister than I should have. I'm on my feet for my work so I couldn't work for a week. I didn't have insurance at the time and paid a lot out of pocket; I asked for some kind of refund, even a partial one, and was offered nothing, not even a credit toward another treatment. I was given conflicting information about when I could apply an over-the-counter treatment. She would always email me back quickly when I had questions, but when I was unhappy with my treatment, she didn't email me for 8 days. I was neither offered an apology nor hygiene techniques for preventing it from spreading more (even though I told her I was afraid to shower). I also asked her about treating my hormonal acne and she prescribed her own creams; I told her I have very sensitive skin and they made my skin peel and burn. So she did allow me to return them and refunded me for the creams, but gave me no suggestions for an alternative for my hormonal acne. Overall, I did not feel that she really cared about helping me. read more

I also went to Dr. Pierson and was pleased with the outcome of my procedures. She is very easy to talk to and gave me many options for my future visits.
