I was soo please with his quote that I didn't need to call anyone else for more quotes. My garage wall was moldy and had a large hole in the wall and ceiling from old water damage that wasn't fixed by previous owners. There were also a few 1" holes or larger in the ceiling and a baseball sized hole in another wall in the garage. Doug came out a few days later and started first thing in the morning. He gave me a courtesy call and showed up promptly and on time. I'm a DIY kinda guy but I dont know drywall. Doug gladly showed me some tips and tricks for DIY repairs and answered all of my questions. Doug finished all the repairs in my garage and I couldn't be happier. His drywall work is top notch. He prepped the wall for paining and made everything seamless. He even seamlessly blended the knockdown ceiling texture which turned out fantastic. Doug is very friendly, knowledgeable and fair. Although his price was fair, because I am on a fixed retirement income I could afford only to have the main house done. I was worried that, because the job was pretty small, he would pass on it (it's happened before), especially since a lot of his work is pretty big projects, but he was very understanding and re-wrote the proposal for the main house only, plus he agreed to let me look on to learn how they did the repairs and the materials they used so I could try to do the back house myself later. He used subcontractors for the work but it was a very small and tightly knit crew, and Jeff Bailey was on site several times to make sure everything was going as planned. This was the first impressive thing about J Bailey--even though my job was a small one, it was getting the same level of consideration as his big jobs. The second impressive thing was how communicative everyone was. They texted daily to inform me who would show up when, and what work they would do the next day, and told me in advance the one day they couldn't make it due to weather. When they were here, they described step-by-step what they did. I was never in the dark about anything. About the contractors: Maynor (sorry if sic) patched all the major cracks. He told me what he used, and described what he was doing and what tools I'd need for my back house. He did excellent work, once the paint was on you can't see any trace of the patch jobs. A father-son team, Ed & Brandon, did the initial pressure-washing, most of the minor crack patches (Maynor came back and helped on one day), priming, and painting. Ed did most of the painting. He showed me what to use for patches and how to work it into the cracks. He used top-of-the-line paint, Benjamin Moore, and did a meticulous job, he got into some pretty difficult spaces to get the porch and patio walls. And even though my back door and steps were not in the contract, he painted them anyway with the leftover paint I had the last time I painted them. These guys do a great job for what they're hired to do, and go above & beyond their contracted responsibilities to make sure the job is not only right, but the best.
