Stay true tattoo made my first tattoo experience a great one! For the longest time I wanted to get a tattoo. Too scared, and no original ideas, here I was 27 years old and tat-less. My boyfriend had just gotten two calf pieces done by Ash and finally convinced me to make an appointment for my first tattoo! Ash was more than helpful in easing my nerves and took my idea and made it cool and unique. We ended up getting matching tattoos, which made my first experience even more special! Ash continues to amaze me with her work and her ability to create a unique detailed image with a kind of retro hip style. I can't wait to go back for another tattoo! read more

Simon D. Halpern - Tattoo removal results !!! Amazing please go see Kristine she is incredible. - Tattoo Near Me

Had the WORST experience here and it was all due to one individual, KALEO.Walked in around 1:30/2pm after calling in at noon being told to come in because they had availability, was greeted and seen by the artist. My sister explained what she had in mind (palm sized, no color or shading, just a basic Asian fan) with some examples. Right from the get go the guy gave off stink vibes, trying to convince her into shading even though she specified that wasn't what she wanted, but he said to come back in an hour and he'd have something drawn up. We left and came back as directed and waited to see Kaleo. This wait seemed to drag on FOOOOREEEEVEEERR. I went up to the front desk, making sure to include that we didn't want to rush them from anyone else's time just wanting to get an idea of how much longer it would take, if at all. No one seemed to know what Kaleo was up to so they went back to figure it out. He came back and said he had just finished up with someone and was going to go in back and BEGIN drawing something up. In my head: *Wait, what?! When we came in earlier you had open availability, and didn't you say you'd have something drawn up by the time we came back? We've been waiting here for nearly TWO hours... but fine, what's done is done* So we said okay and sat back down. At this point he could have just said he couldn't/wouldn't do it and we all could have gone on with our lives and maybe my sister and I could have spent her last day together doing something memorable. Instead we waited another half hour. He came back with a drawing that pretty much captured everything my sister wanted, catch was he said he wouldn't do it unless he could do color or black and grey shading. My sister insisted that the line work was all she wanted, but he continued to press that he wouldn't do it unless she did at least shading. She, trying to meet him half way, asked to see some of his shading work, which he then snarked back "psh, it's all online. Just look on Instagram". Awkwardly put on the spot, she pulled out her phone to see some examples, none of which she liked at all. She then asked if he could just give her the tattoo that he had drawn up as is. His response was a solid no and to "have another artist do it for you then." So we said thank you and walked out. My sister, so frustrated by having waited all day to have our time wasted, began to cry in the car. Trying to be a good big sis, I went back in to see if somebody ANYBODY had time to squeeze her in and willing to give her the simple tattoo she so desperately wanted. Of course the person to meet me at the front desk was, you guessed it, KALEO. I begged him, explained that we respect his choice not to do the tattoo, but it was her last day and we had already waited so long and wasted so much time to be turned down. Something he could have done so much sooner and we could have taken our business else where! He then told me how he didn't want to do it without shading, how he had lost out on money because of us, and that no one else was available (even though I had been there long enough to see two artist that had just finished up with other clients, but who knows what they had on their schedule so I didn't want to presume). Then half heartedly he said "I guess I can rail through it, even though I don't want to but I can't promise anything". I was like "okay! I'll see what she wants to do!" And went back to my crying sister to see if she was still down for the cause. By this point she was over it, understandably. She didn't want to have a cranky person who clearly didn't want to do her tattoo making permanent marks on her body. I agreed and we left. Here's the thing, I understand from the artist's POV of trying to preserve your art, but at the end of the day it's a business and ITS HER BODY AND SHE'S THE ONE WHO HAS TO WEAR IT, so take the lady's money and give her what she wants! Otherwise send us on our happy way and don't waste our time! We wasted about 4 and a half hours at one spot just to be turned away by some diva tattoo artist who wouldn't do a simple design over pride, while on the other hand we spent about an hour at Loyalty to get exactly what we wanted. Honestly I think Kaleo was just trying to wait us out and thought we'd just get tired of waiting and leave. This just totally sucks, now because of that one individual I'm writing this review when in reality I really respect all the other artists/employees here. I've researched this joint a while, which is why I brought my sis here in the first place. Ash's lines are dope, I geek out on Robert's realism pieces, and I would love to have Yvonne do a piece for me, among all the other talented people there. And this is as no disrespect to the house as a whole, love what they got going on and actually enjoyed chatting it up with the front room crew and their adorable house pup! But that Kaleo, man -he's gots to go/needs to be checked. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! read more

my overall experience at 1 point tattoo has always been great. i have been tattooed here & have also received laser tattoo removal. the atmosphere is always very chill & the people are all hospitable & friendly. recently, i have had several sessions with kristine to lighten an existing tattoo so that it can be covered up. she is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the procedure and is open to any questions you may have. she also takes real good care of you during your appointment, checking to make sure you are ok & stopping for breaks if you need them. the starfish squishies really help too. if you are looking to get laser tattoo removal, i would 10/10 highly recommend you go see kristine. All the artists here are amazing in their own individual way which makes the place very unique. I just recently started on my sleeve which was my first tattoo by Vin and he's very understanding and genuine with what you need. The atmosphere is laid back and I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone who's looking for a place they can trust. read more

I had been following 1 point on Instagram for awhile as I was doing lots of research trying to find the best artists for me. They are such a diverse group with so many different styles. You can't go wrong with them whatsoever. My husband and I went to Ashley for our tattoos and were blown away! She took our ideas and drew something up for us that was perfect and unique. She more than understood what we were wanting. The work itself in the end turned out so perfect as well. Lines, shading, bright colors. She is also very nice! I would recommend her to absolutely anyone! I also recommend checking everyone out on Instagram as they are always posting new stuff. It's probably the best place to see everyone's work and decide which artist is best for your idea. Can't wait to be back for more ink! read more

I went to see Joshua Flinn. He's amazing with water colors so that's why I went to him. The piece I'm doing is watercolor. The staff is friendly and the place is nice. The only downside is all the cussing that goes on but I just tuned it out. I can see that their clients are like family to them. They temp check when you get in and you have to wear a mask. There is a dog that belongs to one of the workers and he's so cute and friendly. You should check out this place on IG to see all the different artists work. read more

Military tattoo removal I have gotta alot of tattoo removal before and trust the pain is ridiculously painful. Having to get another one at a place I wasnt use to, made me buy numbing cream and express ship it lol. I spent crazy money for the shipment to arrive after my appointment with Kristine at 1 point tattoo (smh thxs Amazon). Needless to say she made my experience a enjoyful one. It was not painful at all and plus it was really quick. The conversation ease my mind that I totally forgot I was getting a removal done. She was completely amazing and I will most definitely go back again and recommend anyone to her. Thanks alot Kristine!!!! read more

Simon Halpern is a master of his craft, as is every other member of the 1 Point staff. From day one, he put significant time and thought into my request for full sock, and the final product has since received notice and high praise from strangers everywhere I've visited. I will be visiting again soon to let him work his magic on my arm. read more

When I flew to Hawaii I knew I was definitely getting tattoos. While I was there on vacation I read a lot of yelp reviews and came across 1 point Tattoo in Kailua. I read a lot of good reviews and also found one of there cards at a massage place and so I stopped in and spoke with someone and made an appt for the next day. I met with Matt the next day and he was so sweet and made sure I was completely happy with my placement of where I wanted my tattoos. I absolutely LOVE them! The tattoo shop is very clean, great staff and I had no problems. If you're looking for a tattoo shop in Oahu, don't look any further... this is the shop to go to!!! Mahalo!! read more

This review is really about Kristine and the laser removal process. Not knowing much about all the tattoo shops in Kailua I decided to stop in and try to get a feel for the store. I was greeted by Kristine and Robert. After explaining my story to them I realized what I wanted to do was no big deal. These guys are super cool and they made me feel comfortable. Kristine made the laser process quick and painless. Before I knew it I was done. She's very good at what she does and everything went exactly the way she said it would. I'm looking forward to finishing up the removal and then getting some new work done with these guys. read more

I'm writing this review, because I'm extremely unhappy with the tattoo removal session results. I have purposely waited a whole entire year from when the last session took place in MAY,2018 to see if 1. the results would change over time, 2. if staff would reach out, 3. because I just don't like writing reviews about small businesses and 4. aside from liking Kristine as a person while things were good. She did not do anything or even reach out to follow up once I had expressed my feelings and concerns. Regarding how things started to look after my last session. I have attached pictures of the progress. Picture #3 you can see, it was ALMOST gone. I was really excited to go into my last session, as I thought this may be the last and probably won't be as painful as the previous ones. However, I was wrong. It was probably the MOST PAIN I've ever felt. I stopped Kristine multiple times, something which I had not done in previous sessions. And expressed how painful it was, and if it a supposed to feel that way as the tattoo is almost gone. She said yes, as the laser has to penetrate the skin layers to get to the bottom of the almost faded tattoo. Trusting her I allowed her to continue. As you can see in the last two pics the laser burned and scabbed my skin extremely. Now I not only still have tattoo left but also laser burns and scabs and scars which are forever on my skin now. Hopefully they've gotten better over time. I know everyone's skin and reactions are different, but based on results on picture 3 we were on the right track until Kristine was definitely and obviously UNSURE and WRONG on the level of laser she chose to use on my skin for the 4th treatment that caused undoable scars that will unfortunately be on my skin forever. read more

Kristine at 1 point tattoo is the shit! I've been having her do my tattoo removal. So far I'm on my 8th session (black tattoo tramp stamp on a dude!!) that I got 20 years ago (young and regretful choice) She gave me no judgement and she has been very professional and the staff here is super nice! The new cooling machine helps with the pain and it's not so bad. Overall a good place to get your tattoo remove and very good rates! read more

I have Ash an idea of what I wanted and what she delivered was better than I could have imagined.

I don't normally leave reviews and especially bad reviews but one thing I want to say is I don't think they should advertise "Walk-ins welcome" and that they have a $100 art fee no matter what artwork you get. My husband and I walked in to get tattoos as an anniversary present because our vacation in Hawaii would be mostly rain. They were unsure if they could get us in but would call us if an opening came available. They did call us and said based off what we wanted, we should have time. However, when it came time to talk artwork, Kaleo didn't like either of our ideas and suggested to change what we wanted. I was open to his idea because he is a professional but then when he drew up my artwork, it was nothing like what I wanted and far larger than I requested. When I expressed my feelings, we were then told that he would only have time for one of us to get a tattoo. But that's only because he changed our tattoos. As an artist, if he didn't like our designs, I think it's absolutely fine to turn us away but he didn't do that. It was then that we found out I would have to pay $100 (not including tax) for the shop time. I understand that's probably customary and I wanted to compensate him for his time but I would have like to have known that upfront because we ended up walking out of there with no tattoo and a piece of artwork I don't even care for. If I had known it was going to cost me that, I probably wouldn't of gone forward. Again, they need to say the fees upfront. The $100 I paid should have at least been compensated with a piece of artwork I wanted, which can easily be done over email as the piece I showed him was from a piece someone has previously tattooed in their shop. Right now they are an average tattoo parlor but if they had continued to work with me to get a piece I liked and could bring with me, it would have made them great. All in all, I did like the artists in there and it seems like they did good work, we were just a few who were unable to experience that. ly done in the office. read more

Great artists. I just finished a very personal piece with Robert and it's way better than I even imagined! I'm new to the tattoo world, so needed suggestions and ideas on most aspects - Robert was spot on with everything he suggested. Everyone in the shop is friendly and professional, especially the dog. They seek out each other's ideas and from what I've seen, everyone leaves with something amazing! Thanks Robert, hope to see more of your colour realism, maybe even in Australia oneday read more

Excellent Work. Very happy with everything and would highly recommend Joshua Finn. I was referred to 1 Point tattoo from a client in Southern California and thought I would check them out while I was in Oahu. Called ahead of time in which they told me they were fully booked but stop by the shop anyway in case there was a cancellation. We were near the shop and stoped by. Joshua had just finished his last client early and graciously took me in.He drew up the art work for me and worked late into the evening to finish the tattoo for me (for my birthday). The entire staff was very welcoming and put forth a fun & positive vibe. I highly recommend 1 Point Tattoo and Joshua Finn to anyone coming into Oahu looking to get inked. read more

He has great "bedside" manner but in this case tattoo chair haha. I get sooooo many compliments on my tattoo, his work is excellent. Def see him for your next consultation. But book in advance he's in high demand! Kris is your girl to go to for your tat removal needs. She's currently working on one of my tattoos and is awesome! Walking into the shop was very different vibes, it was layed back and chill, just how I like and the decor was modern yet old school feeling. I took my oldest to get his first tattoo and Simon sent us to one of his guys named Matt. First meeting him was very comfortable, he made my son reassured to take his time and we were going to keep sizing it till my son was happy with the sketch and size, so after a few times we got it to the size he wanted. Matt's lettering is on point, it was so crisp and straight and he managed to do it in a couple hours, and not to mention his whipped shading is sick! Yvonne was absolutely amazing. SHE IS 100% DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT. We did two tattoos on back to back days and the first one was not pleasant at all. We got to my kneecap and she had to use her own leg to hold mine down. Not only was she so patient with me and my freakish knee, she was so light handed when it came to tattooing! I've had heavy handed tattoos and those can be killer. She was the real champ, she just kept going and only stopped when she had to go to the bathroom. Mind you, these are TWO 6 hour sessions NONSTOP. She is always conscience of the person getting tattooed and really does put all her passion and effort into her tattoos, it just shows. All the people that work at 1point are just rad people as well, they make you feel real at home and are just genuinely great and down to earth people. Not only did Yvonne far exceed my expectations but I can tell you honestly, when someone asks me what's my favorite tattoo I'll be pointing to these two bad boys! read more

I had the best experience that you could have with laser tattoo removal. Yes it hurt but Kristine was so informative and she genuinely cared about treating my skin carefully. She really knew how to read the progress of my tattoos and did a good job of upping the strength each treatment to help speed up the process but just enough to avoid scarring. I moved after a few sessions but she went out of her way to look for another laser tattoo removal shop that met her standards and sent them the info of my treatments. She's awesome and super fun to talk to while you're cringing in pain. thanks Kristine! read more
