The lobby is clean and tidy along with a place to sit down and take in the A/C while you enjoy looking into the books of Shenskees' work and the many works posted on their walls. Before proceeding with the tattoos, you'll need to fill out an electronic consent form. The process only took less than 5 minutes to do too so i like how efficient it went! Our tattoo artists, Shen and Brad were great and they were very professional, transparent, and communicative from what our tattoos would like in different sizes, and they gave recommendations on the patterns of the tattoos. My brother and i did our tattoos at the same time and it didn't take long. I'd say we sat about an hour-ish. And WE LOVE IT!!! They take cash and/or card. I paid in cash to avoid a $3-4 card fee. Everything went smooth and they gave us a print of an aftercare plan. Parking is limited in the compound but there's always street parking available too! On 29 Nov, I called about the potential to walk-in to get my 1st tattoo, and I had a serendipitous experience (to quote Jen). Carly took my call. She was warm, asked good questions, and made me feel comfortable (bc I had no idea what to ask/do). I got a call back within minutes from Jen. We made a plan and an appt. She said she'd be availableby text or to call if I had questions or changed my mind which put me at ease. When I arrived, the staff and artists were friendly and the environment at The Collective is relaxing and welcoming.just overall very pleasant! My art consult with Jen was better than I could have imagined...and she drew up the perfect tattoo for me...somehow adding a few details I didnt even say explictly. (She just new my vibe somehow.) The piece on my ribs took approx 1 hour. Jen was fantastic to work with and really made the entire experience for me. The Collective (and artists) maintain a very hygienic space and clear, caring, helpful recommendations to optimize healing afterwards. I've got a whole vision for what I wish I would have done for my tattoos originally. I had a consultation with Kristine at the Kailua location back in February 2019 for my half sleeve, and ended up putting off starting the process entirely. She was accommodating and understanding for my personal needs to hold off. Today, scheduled the day-of (maybe I got lucky), I returned and Kristine removed basically my entire "half sleeve", plus another one on my leg. Most of them were done in just *seconds. Kristine and my experience with her has been amazing all the way through. She kept me posted from February thru now about discounts and/or COVID stuff, was thorough and realistic thru consultation regarding pricing, gave me guidance on all the questions you'd want to ask (without me having to ask them) and made me feel SO comfortable thru the removal. They had stress balls, she was flexible and patience to allow quick-second breaks as needed, and talked me thru it when I (very obviously) needed to breathe more :-) Professional, thorough, friendly, reasonable with pricing, overall made me feel I was very well taken care of. One of the best shops on Oahu, upscale place that is professional from the moment you walk in. Yvonne has done upwards of 30 hours on me and has turned all of my ideas into well placed and designed tattoos. Her knowledge set me at ease when I got my first piece and has helped me construct a sleeve that I have been happy with for the past 3 years. She is great at working with your ideas and puts your comfort above everything else. I met Rob when I started my sleeve and has always been super friendly with me and everyone else in the shop. He has never failed to say hello and start up conversation and has taken time to explain concepts to me I had questions about. Brilliant artist all around! Simon is the best geometric artist on the island hands down. Three of my friends have all gone through him for a variety of pieces and they always turn out spectacular. I have done 8 tattoo removal sessions on a partial sleeve tattoo with Kristine at the Kailua studio now and I very enthusiastically recommend this shop and her services. Kristine and all her co-workers are all extremely friendly, and she will give you a straight answer for how many sessions she will expect it to take in your consultation. The sessions themselves are very easily scheduled, and Kristine is extremely talented at making sure the sessions go by as quickly and painlessly as possible. I have verbally recommended this shop to everyone I work with that I've spoken to about both tattoos and their removal. Absolutely fantastic. I got my first tattoo here from Yvonne, and she did an incredible job. Kristine helped me through the process and made sure I knew everything that was going on legally and what they were and what they were not responsible for. The shop itself is very clean and very courteous about your feelings! I got a sternum tattoo, and was right by the door, but they made sure nobody stared or made me feel uncomfortable. The artists in the shop are friendly and make you forget you're being tattooed by a mostly stranger. Once the tattoo on my sternum got too painful for me to handle, they were able to give me numbing stuff so I could sit and finish without being too uncomfortable! My wife and I try to make Hawaii every 3 or 4 years. Covid interfered with that. 6 years ago I met artist Josh Flinn who did an incredible piece of work on my right arm. Flash forward to this past May and I hooked up with Josh again, this time at One Point in Kailua. This is the most incredible, inviting and comfortable tattoo shop I have been to. A great team of people that support each other. Simon and Christeen make it roll. The work done by every artist is off the charts. And I highly recommend everyone of them. But of course Josh Flinn is not only my unbelievable artist but a lifelong friend. Josh Flinn created and tattooed a Polynesian watercolor jellyfish for me and I have nothing but great things to say about my entire experience. Everyone at the shop was professional and friendly. Josh worked 7 hours on my piece with minimal breaks to make the piece perfect with beautiful watercolor details. I enjoyed that he was both focused and friendly, chatting a bit but also letting me read/watch Netflix/listen to music throughout the appointment. This shop is one the best tattoo shops I have been too. The owner has an amazing motto that really holds true to the shop. "Building relationships through art.'' Very honest, upfront, & passionate tattooers who really take the time to get to know exactly what the customer wants! They spend a lot of time drawing up your tattoos to make sure it's truly what you want & sometimes that can change several times. I saw Kristine at 1 Point Tattoo for Scalp Micro-Pigmentation and eyebrow laser tattoo removal, and she delivered incredible results. I was very self-conscious about visible thinning, and her micro-pigmentation work added natural-looking fullness without any harsh ink. She chose the perfect shade and took her time to make everything blend seamlessly. Kristine also removed my outdated brow tattoos, which were the wrong color and shape. After just one session, about 85% of the pigment was gone, and my face already looks more natural. Kristine is skilled, honest, and meticulous. I recently got my third tattoo from Josh while visiting the island. He has done a piece for me, each of the last 3 years, while I have come for vacation. His unique style of Polynesian watercolour fusion is unlike anything I have ever seen! I am always pleased with his artistic creativity and his ability to design me something awesome! Let me start by saying Kristine is by far the best I had to remove my half sleeve because I was no longer happy because of it and she helped me on my journey of removing it. Kristine is great at what she does, not only does it show how prideful she is doing what she does but also she takes care of her clients. Upon arriving I was greeted very nicely. The shop is easy to find. Decent parking. The shop is clean. And the staff is is friendly. I used some numbing cream that wore off rather quickly. I am not a fan of pain. And Natalie was very understanding as well as accommodating my pathetic self. Lol. She let me break and breath when I needed to. She talked to me a little during the session to help ease my mind. She even rooted me on and motivated me to finish. Lol. I am very pleased with my tattoo. It looks great. For those who may be anxious around dogs, he's well trained, has a solid recall, and stays on his place bed until he's told he can come off. He's the goodest boy! I got tattooed by Yvonne, who is the sweetest ever! This was my first big piece and I was anxious about sitting for a full day for my first session. Yvonne was incredibly supportive and was an awesome hype woman throughout the process. I appreciated her suggestion on starting in the most spicy area first to set us up for success. Yvonne is incredibly talented in her artistry and skill as a tattooer. I appreciate her attention to detail, dedication, and the level of perfectionism she applies to her craft. Yvonne is thorough, not only in her tattooing, but in her after care instructions. I also had a couple of questions regarding my healing care, and Yvonne was very responsive, which I appreciate. While I did not get tattooed by Judd, I saw his work and interactions with his clients over my sessions and he is also incredible at his craft and kind. I couldn't be happier with the way he worked with me through my schedule and the design I wanted. He's personable, funny, and a joy to get a tattoo from unlike other artists that just tattoo you and get you out the door. He talks with you and gets to know you and make you feel comfortable getting a tattoo from him. The studio is a very well kept open space with iconic and rare tattoo memorabilia, flash, stencils and charcoal drawings the artists have collected over their careers. I asked him if he could honor the price he quoted me months prior and he refused but offered to refund my deposits. I agreed to get my deposits refunded, but it is now JUNE and I have not yet received my refund. I have emailed him on multiple occasions & reached out via Venmo multiple times and he never responded. I DM'ed him on Instagram & his only solution was to talk to the tattoo shop owner. Spoke with the tattoo shop & they said they can't do anything since this appointment was made prior to Curtis' start at Keesh, which I completely agree. All in all, Curtis is completely unprofessional and lacks accountability and basic respect. DO NOT GET TATTOOED BY HIM.

So, I decided to try laser tattoo removal. While randomly browsing on Groupon, I came across a deal from Freedom Laser Hair & Tattoo Removal. The reviews, both on Groupon and online, were really positive, so I went ahead and bought the deal for $45 (small area). I had to pay an extra $10 groupon booking fee, but the price itself was so affordable I didn't mind. At my appointment, the technician Emily mentioned I could purchase directly from her in the future, and she'd still honor the Groupon price, which was super kind of her. If you're interested, check if the deal is still available online. The Groupon covers small, medium, and large tattoo removal areas. For my next session, I'll be booking directly through her. This was my first experience with any type of tattoo removal, and I'll admit I was a bit nervous. I'd heard it can be more painful than getting a tattoo. Emily doesn't use numbing cream, but she has a cold air machine that blows over the area while the laser works. It helped a lot, less of a shock than I expected. Since the area was small, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. In terms of pain, I'd say it felt pretty similar to getting the original tattoo. If you've had your brows tattoo and touched up, you know what I mean. (The pain isn't the best) Even after just one session, I noticed a big difference. The pigment lifted way more than I thought it would. I'll probably need one more session since I've had multiple tattoo applications over the years, but I'm already really happy with the results. Huge thank you to Emily--she was amazing! Her online system is super efficient. It sends reminders, outlines policies and procedures, and includes everything you need to know before, during, and after your appointment. She's professional, thorough, and kind. I'll definitely be recommending her to my friends and family for any laser needs, especially tattoo removal. Highly recommend!

Everyone was really friendly and accommodating, and we were both really happy with our new tattoos. Space is clean and lots of flash/painting options to choose from. My extra tattoo was from their Halloween flash sheet that they were coincidentally running that day. I ended up liking it without any shading (see pic), but I may go back to get it shaded in one day ;) especially since they have a stamp card which, after five tattoos there, enables you to get a sixth one free!
