I found Dr. Satashia online and seeing it was an all female practice (at the time), I decided to give it a shot. This office not only got me in for my emergency visit from the pain IMMEDIATELY, they saw me and instantaneously took action to get my teeth restored. I saw an endo to have a root canal redone after the horrible job done elsewhere. The other root canals I needed, fillings, wisdom tooth removal, the list goes on, were all done by Dr. Satashia! The woman does it all! I have had zero issues, no follow up pain, no signs of infections, NOTHING! Her entire team is energetic and passionate about their jobs, and I know I am in the best hands. Their equipment is top notch and she always had the newest dental innovations. I was just there a few days ago for another emergency visit and they fit me in hours after I called on an extremely busy day! As always I had no wait time and the work performed was top notch! I recommend everyone go to Dr. Satashia at Dentistry by Design, and I will continue to!

The lady I spoke with on the phone was very nice, but if you are calling because you are already in…read moretooth pain, this is not the place I would recommend going. I was told that before they could even schedule me for a root canal, I first had to become an established patient and come in for a cleaning, X-rays, and a full exam. After that, I would still have to wait for their root canal specialist, who is only in the office a few days each month. That essentially means living in pain for weeks before actually getting the treatment you called them for. I understand the importance of exams, X-rays, and routine dental care, but when someone is calling because they are actively in pain, I would expect the immediate problem to be addressed first. The last thing someone with a painful tooth wants is to sit through a routine cleaning, X-rays and annual exam, only to be sent home afterward to continue waiting in pain. Had they been willing to address the painful tooth first, I would have gladly become a regular patient and continued my routine dental care there. Instead, the process made me lose confidence in the practice. I am now being treated elsewhere, where they understood that I was in pain and got me an appointment right away instead of making me go through routine care before addressing the reason I was seeking help in the first place.

Many providers, in my humble opinion, are in healthcare for the money. It is obvious to me that money is not Dr. Gladstone's motivation. She obviously cares about her patients and wants to help people smile. I went 10 years without being able to smile, or I'd hold my hand in front of my face when I would speak to people, bc during a contentious custody battle, I'd grind my teeth they were no longer visible. I avoided job interviews, parent/teacher conferences and social activities like the plague. I searched for 10 years, begging for someone to help me with dentures. Unless I had $10,000, nobody would even consider working on my mouth. I finally found the mom-n-pa dental clinic, and was lucky enough to get Dr. Gladstone as my provider. She's a wonderful person and a rockstar dentist. I'd recommend her to anyone who wants to be treated with dignity and respect, and leave the appointment with everything you wanted and more. I visited this office for a specific problem -- a chipped front tooth. Instead of asking what…read morebrought me in or listening to my concerns, I was immediately pushed into their standard "cleaning + X‑rays" workflow. My actual issue was ignored. When I addressed the dentist by her first name -- the name she introduced herself with during my first visit a year ago -- she corrected me sharply: "I am not Shilpa. I am Dr. Shilpa." For the record, I wasn't being casual or disrespectful. I didn't shorten her name or use a nickname. I simply used the name she gave me. Titles don't change my attitude toward a person. What matters is whether a professional listens, communicates clearly, and respects the patient's needs. Being corrected over a title, before anyone even asked why I was there, felt unnecessary and set the wrong tone. I was also concerned about the cost -- nearly $2,100 without dental insurance -- and I was trying to understand what was essential and what could wait. Instead of addressing my questions or the reason for my visit, the focus stayed on their standard workflow. This interaction reflects a larger problem in healthcare: too often, caregivers prioritize procedures over patient needs, leaving patients feeling they have no options except to comply. There is nothing wrong with earning money, but there is something wrong with recommending procedures the patient does not need immediately. A healthcare visit should begin with one simple step: ask the patient what they need. That never happened here. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this practice.
