Amazing food! Our server was very friendly and spoke english well. The menu was in both German and English. The restaurant is quite small but you are able to reserve a table. My partner and I ordered the bruschetta to start and the spinach and bacon pizza-both on gluten free bread. The toppings on both were very flavourful, the gluten free bread was thin and crispy but was pretty good as pizza crust. We got lactose-free cheese on the pizza which was delicious. I highly recommend asking for the chili and garlic oils to top your pizza to your taste. read more

Considering lack of gluten and lactose free places in Berlin, this place is pretty good! Got three pizzas (one of which was gluten free with lactose free mozzarella) and had pizza tonno. Tasted not bad at all. Only thing was that onion was white, while it's always better with red. Otherwise recommend and will go back! We went there on a Monday evening (so it's definitely not closed on that day), the place is super small but we managed to find a place to sit. I took a gluten free pizza (with prosciutto) and my mom took some shrimp gluten free pasta. I took a little time to come and my mom's order was wrong, as she especially notified that she really didn't wanted anything containing cream, the waitress gave her some speck and cream pasta. Of course my mom said that she couldn't eat that since it was obviously containing some cream, but the waitress first said that it didn't.. After a few minutes she finally agreed on changing the dish and give to my mom what she ordered in the first place. Happily the sauce of the shrimp pasta was awesome, very tasty. The pizza was ok, it was pizza which is always good, but i'm not that convinced by the buckwheat flour for pizza paste, it wasn't soft at all compared to some gluten free pizza I had in the past. Wonderful pizza and pasta selections-- very diet inclusive. Tons of drinks. Only downside is the restaurant itself is very small.

From the moment I walked in I was treated with stellar customer service. The pizza was amazing (GF, Vegetarian, lactose free) and even GF beer! When finished I needed wifi so even though I was done they were very helpful in letting me stay to get something finished. Highly recommend! read more

Amazing gluten free pizza. It's not often you find a gf base that isn't doughy, thick or flavourless but this one was excellent. Soo thin and crispy, and the buckwheat flour gave it a great flavour. Toppings were delicious, I'll be back to try the Flammkuchen some day. read more

This was the best pizza we have tasted since we were in Naples 2 years ago. I am wheat intolerant and it is extremely difficult to find wheat and gluten free (carbohydrate) foods in restaurants. The menu offers wheat, spelt, or gluten free pizza bases with a wide selection of toppings. We were greeted warmly by Nikolaos the owner and given an introduction to Simela. I ordered the anchovy, olive pizza and my husband ordered the feta pizza, both were mouth watering and a must try. Our compliments to the Spanish chef who made them. We had a Navarra red wine with our meal, it was a very reasonable price and wonderfully robust. We highly recommend this restaurant to not only those who are wheat or gluten intolerant but to everyone. It was truly a wonderful experience and fantastic meal. Short version: Awesome place, really good pizza, friendly service, a little bit more expensive than other places in Berlin but worth it - go there! Long version: First off let me say that those of you who adore a late night bite of a greasy, thick crust, topping overloaded and cheap pizza after a very heavy night out will NOT LIKE THIS PLACE so save your money and go to Pizza Hut or something along those lines (no offence to Pizza Hut). On the other hand, if you are one of those people who don't see pizza as a quick take away tummy filler, this is the place to go. I've had a go at 4 different types (Pear Gorgonzola, Parma, spicy salami and Margherita) and all of them were absolutely delicious. A super thin, crispy crust (notably also in the middle of the pizza, unlike the soggy dough you get in some other places), very high quality topping of which there is neither too little nor too much. I need to emphasize the "not too much" part of this as the most outstanding thing to me about the pizze here was that they are not systematically drowned in tomato sauce and (analog?) cheese but the ingredients are in fact wisely proportioned and of the highest quality. You can actively taste that bit of cheese with the bit of tomato forming a symphony of flavours together with the rest of the pizza. Imagine that! Often it's just "dough, cheese, tomato and now let's guess what else is on there". Oh, and the pear and gorgonzola pizza doesn't even have any tomato sauce on it cause it wouldn't fit with the rest. Someone actually thought a little bit about what they were cooking here, which is always an advantage;) If you like Rocket Salad on your Pizza, you get a big bunch of it for free. Another perk of this place is that they use different flour types for their dough. We all had the spelt flour ("Dinkel") which tasted fantastic. Of course, there is standard wheat, but if you fancy a more alternative diet I believe there are gluten free choices as well. I would love to have some whole grain flour added to the selection someday. Regarding the price, it's definately not the cheapest (especially in Berlin!) but given that this is not really the place where you go to buy 20 pizze for your birthday party where people just wanna eat so they can drink more it's absolutely feasible. A 30cm pizza costs between 6,50 and 8,50 Euros if I remember correctly. Given the quality of the food I think it is worth every cent. Did I mention the design of the restaurant is really cool? It's very small though so I don't recommend showing up with a group much larger than 4 without making reservations. All in all, worth the experience. I won't be eating pizza anywhere else if I have the choice. read more
