Although there are other pizza shops directly nearby- this one @ Mierendorffplatz is really the shop you want to get your authentically delicious, Italian pizza. Pizza e Pasta is "Klein & fein"...with decent prices. There seems to be a nice red wine selection, as well as Italian food products for purchase, decorating the shelves. I like that if you sit up front you can see your pizza being prepared. The vitrine also had some marinated veggies & other items for appetizers/snacks. There is also a smaller room in the shop , if one needs more seating space, privacy, or perhaps for small group reservations. My son & I shared a plain pizza (Margherita (€5,50) & he had an Italiano lemon Soda. We watched "William" make the pizza, while sitting at the beautiful wooden tables at the front of the shop, while "Victoria", the waitress chatted with us about the shop, grand opening, etc. Very nice staff. When our pizza arrived, the crust was wonderfully crisp & the the Sauce to cheese Ratio was perfect: not too soupy/saucy- not too dry. Yum! The pizza is fantastic. The espresso macchiato is perfect. The food is always very, very fresh and delicious. All sauces, anti-pasti, etc. are house made. I'm sure it helps that one of the largest Italian markets in Berlin is less than 4 blocks away. Can I say that it makes me cry a little bit that I can walk here from my place? I just did. I remember this pizzeria for many years but often passed by and once I get enough courage to have a dinner there - my life cannot be the same. It might get crowded in the evening, so booking sometimes is a good idea, they are also opened late hours, so having an Italian evening with sooo good pizza outside is just perfect. The prices for pizza ranges between 4-8 euro, which is very reasonable. Vegetable antipasti is delicious and everything is fresh. Servants are charming and call you "Seniorita" and occassionally speak Italian to you. The cooks do the master class while baking pizza and do tricks with the pizza dough. So fun.
