For my birthday month, I decided to dedicate each Friday to a self-care/self-love activity. My…read morefirst stop was Pint of Peace, located in the Lynnhaven North shopping center. I was specifically intrigued by their beer baths, and after researching the benefits, I decided to try one. I initially attempted to book online, but while the site mentioned a 50% deposit, it required 100% payment upfront, so I called to finalize the reservation. I used a 20% discount since it was my first-time booking. I decided to schedule the Brewing Calm Immersion, my session included 20 minutes in the sauna, a 60-minute massage, and a 60-minute soak. When I arrived, the owner greeted me and showed me my bath soak options: Hops Brew, Barley Blend, or Chai soak. I decided to try the hops brew which was a blend of hops, brewers yeast, malt, oats and Epsom salt. I also chose Eucalyptus, my favorite aromatherapy, for the diffuser used during my bath. After that I selected my drink from a selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic options, which was also served during my bath. After making all my selections, I was escorted to a private room where, I changed into the robe and slippers they provided. They also provide access to Lockers with keys for you to secure your valuables.   My Experience  Sauna- Before entering they gave me a cup of ice water. I love the fact that I had the ability to adjust the temperature and lighting. However I wished there was some music in the background because sitting in silence for 20 minutes felt very long. Massage- I found the massage relaxing; however, the Pressure was hit or miss and I also feel like certain areas were neglected like my feet and head. Beer bath/soak - My favorite part of the day.  They pre-steeped the brew so the ingredients were already activated. I was originally concerned that the bath water wasn't going to be warm enough but I had 100% control of the temperature. When you enter the room they already have music playing and I had the ability to change the genre if I wanted. They also provide you with 2 large ice cube for you to massage your face and cool you down if you get too hot. After they get you all set up they dim the lights which was the final step in setting the relaxing mood. The Soaking tub was huge and I was just sinking into it. Loved, loved, loved it! Overall I truly enjoyed my time spent & experience at Pint and Peace. I would absolutely recommend stopping in for a day of pampering and I am looking forward to returning for another soak. This was a great kick off to my birthday month of self-care.

We did the sauna treatment, 60 minute massage, and bath and it was AMAZING! When we arrived, we got to choose our bath treatment - there were 3 options. Since I've never had a beer bath, that was what I chose. We also got the option of tea, wine, beer, or water for our bath. We also got to choose an essential oil for the diffuser during our bath. After making our choices, we changed into robes and went into the sauna. From there, we got 60 minute massages, and mine was AMAZING! I asked for firm pressure, and that's exactly what I got! After our massages, it was bath time. It was really neat because the treatment is actually in a bag that you put into the tub. It isn't beer but the dry ingredients that go into beer I'm guessing. I loved that they cut off the big lights and there's the option of a small switch light. There is also meditation music and the diffuser that adds to the relaxation. They also give you 2 big ice cubes to use on your face, neck, or just to simply cool the water if needed. I used on my face, and it felt SO good. I like that we had our baths in separate rooms but were able to move the sliding divider in the wall if we wanted so that we could still talk to each other! This was a 2 hour experience and I would definitely do it again. It was the perfect way to relax with a friend or take some time to yourself for a little self care!

It's unfortunate that I have to leave a negative review but, I had a grievance that the manager…read morepromised to follow-up and it's been over a month. I went to use their sauna services - they have infrared, which is supposed to be more penetrating in the body than a regular sauna. So you're not sweating a much but it's supposed to be more effective.. After leaving, I realized a left an expensive water bottle there. I spoke to the employee the same day, she found it and put it behind the desk for me & let her know I will pick it up in a couple days (had to travel). I came back 3-4 days later and they couldn't find it all of a sudden. The employee looked and said a coworker took it to another location in the building (the gym) for some reason. I was still understanding & polite and came back the next day. That's when I met the manager - who INITIALLY was very adamant about locating the item. After an unsuccessful search, said she would look at the cameras and personally call me about. Upon leaving & asking for my name & phone number, she also asked me if I was a part of any city-organization - I am, but I didn't want that to dictate any treatment. Unfortunately, I did not hear back AT ALL. After a few days I went back and spoke with an employee who said she didn't know the resolution to it. I left my number again & the employee suggested that I should at least of some small compensation for situation/grievance. I agreed and left my number for the third time... metal bottles don't go missing behind a desk... I even spoke with the gym employees and when I asked about the water bottle, one of them started looking around and couldn't even look at me in the face... This was a month ago and I didn't want to leave a bad review... but now it's safe to assume: 1. an employee STOLE the expensive water bottle (that's gross) 2. The manager didn't value me as a customer + didn't follow-up like they promised or even at my request. (And potentially covering up a thief hence why there was no further communication). Next time, keep your word. It's the principle.

The loofahs they used on us looked old, worn out, and were literally falling apart. They did not appear to be new, and they looked as though they had been used before. It honestly grossed me out because exfoliating tools should be clean and sanitary for every client. To make matters worse, the next day I developed body acne, which is something I never experience. While I can't say for certain what caused it, it happened immediately after the treatment and made me concerned about the hygiene of the exfoliation products that were used. For the amount we paid, I expected much higher sanitation standards. A spa should prioritize using fresh, hygienic exfoliation materials for every customer. I would recommend the massage itself, but I would avoid the exfoliation service unless they improve their hygiene practices.

Came into the locker room and pointed out which locker was mine so I had to explain the issue again only for her to tell me it cannot be locked while the door is open... again all I needed was her to reset the locker so I could but my own code in. Waiting room for treatment was too bright so not very relaxing and no lounging chairs or couches except two that had stools. My service started 12 minutes late without any apology or explanation for the delay. I was placed in a treatment room in which the door kept coming open. I was advised this was a known issue and noting had been done to fix it... Booked 110 minutes late without Swedish massage and she spent about five minutes on my back which she did last so I could not ask for more time spent there. I advised my whole body was sore especially shoulders and hips. She spent most of the massage on my shoulders neck and scalp. She spent maybe a couple minutes on each hip. I'm not sure where the time went. My head now hurts to the point where I feel like it's bruised. It did not feel that harsh during the massage. My body feels worse than it did before the massage and my shoulders are painful and feel bruised. Again, it didn't feel too intense during other than the neck massage which was wildly unpleasant. Massage therapist told me her hands were cold--- they were icy and unpleasant. Overall, would not comeback especially for the exorbitant price. They had no additional amenities, snacks, or toiletries that would make up for the price.

The water was lukewarm at best, they didn't ask if we were satisfied with the water temp - the next 10 to 15 minutes were used to give us neck and shoulder massages. We bought foot massage service for a reason, they cut into the 60 minutes we wanted for our feet - they tried to use cupping on each sole but the cups didn't stick, was very flimsy having a syringe like gadget to put air in the cups but it was broken; the technician even said his son was playing with it and they need to get a new one. Trying to get the cupping to work took away 10 minutes of our allotted massage time - I got a masseuse who was kneading too much that I ended up with bruises (see photo) - they normally have 1 person working there do they had to schedule an extra person to come in for our appointment. Because they were there and didn't have any more appointments, they said they can do our back massage. Didn't disclose that it was for extra so we ended up with services we didn't need and we paid more for what was already unsatisfactory experience. Will not come back and hope this review helps others beware!
