Had Dalia and Sarah, two exceptional ladies from Sylvia's Cleaning, for the first time. As soon as they stepped inside, I felt a positive energy from them. Throughout their entire cleaning session, they demonstrated professionalism and dedication. It all began with a call to the company, where Stella and Sylvia were incredibly attentive and committed to ensuring that my needs were met. I highly recommend Sylvia's Cleaning to anyone seeking top-notch cleaning services. read more

Frankly, if I could give 0 stars, I would. This cleaning company was so unprofessional, unorganized, and a downright scam. Not only did they blantly NOT clean. The apartment was actually dirtier than how we left it with FOOT PRINTS of boots on the ground. To top it all off, they overpriced it and then proceeded to also charge our leasing company again to clean the apartment they didn't clean in the first place Ill admit the fridge was cleaned well but its the least they could have done after wasting our time. I also was made aware by our leasing company that they did this to multiple apartments. read more

I have had many, many different housekeepers over the years. Silvia's Cleaning Service is hands-down the best! Silvia is professional, courteous, and reliable. I continue to be impressed with the amazing service her company provides. My house has never looked better. I was so sad to see a one-star review. Silvia explained to me that the review came from a person who was never even a customer of hers! She talked to the reviewer and she admitted she made a mistake, and the one-star was meant for a different company. I cannot recommend Silvia's Cleaning Service enough. If I could give ten stars, I would! I highly recommend her service. read more

I was charged $80.00 an hour by Silvia's cleaning for substandard work. He put dirty dishes away in the cupboard with food still encrusted on the plates and bowls. This was no accident, not at $80.00 an/hour for low skill work. I know Registered Nurses, a high skill occupation who do not earn that much with both Union representation and overtime who do not earn that much. I was just someone to exploit. Some might say because I am white. There is an opinion in the United States that all white people are rich. We Are Not. read more

If I could give more than 5, I definitely would. I can't even begin to describe how I feel right now. Having something that you never thought would come out in a bathroom shower and edging beneath the sliding glass door on a tub actually come out and look 100% different than what you thought possible....both bathrooms....I'm just in awe. Granted there were some minor spots that just won't come out like in the corners but you can tell it's been worked and doesn't even begin to look like it did when they came. Lighter than it was. Evelyn and Euille ... my gosh, are they ever awesome! Very hardworking. I would absolutely utilize their service again and highly recommend them. Thank you ladies!!! read more

I hired Sylvia's Cleaning to do a prebirth cleaning of my home. Sylvia was very prompt on quoting me a reasonable price and scheduling for a time and day that suited my needs. I advised her that I wanted detail cleaning, baseboards, plus windows, etc. with pet friendly floor cleaner. She quoted me two prices because we weren't sure how long it would take, which I appreciated since I thought it may take extra time. She also said that detail cleaning would be no problem and all I would needed to do is advise the crew what I wanted when they arrived. Sounded perfect to me. The crew arrived on time and were pleasant, but they thought they were coming to do a basic cleaning. I was a little worried from that point, but the woman said they could do detail cleaning. I advised the crew everything I wanted done and even showed them some of the spots I wanted them to focus on. I went through this twice so to my surprise when they were half done I noticed that several areas weren't thoroughly cleaned only passed over or were missed completely. I advised I wanted my kitchen cabinets wiped clean, but they only wiped the lower half not the top where the dust actually was, they also didn't wipe the top of the fridge like I asked nor did they clean the inside of the stove, left the grout in the kitchen dirty, and forgot to clean one window. I advised them of this so they went over it again. The cabinets were cleaned correctly, grout and stove were cleaned, but the top of the fridge and the missed window still didn't get done. I also had to stop one of the cleaners from cleaning because they parked in the middle of my driveway so my husband couldn't leave. After moving the car she just parked it right back in the same spot! I later noticed that the kitchen table wasn't cleaned well, the hall bathroom had several spots that were missed and the doors weren't cleaned well. My interior doors have indents and the worker said she didn't clean those parts, which was odd to me since I said wipe the doors. They went over the kitchen table again, it looked better the second time and redid the areas in the bathroom which still had some spots of dirt but we were now getting close to three hours and I needed them to be done so I decided to live with it. They were finally done and I could tell their main mode of cleaning is wiping once or twice not really putting elbow grease into cleaning anything so it gets thoroughly clean like taking off hard water build up in the bathroom. Also, I had dropped some lotion on my bathroom floor and noticed it was still there and the same for the inside of my master shower the tiles could have been scrubbed better. The cabinets weren't shiny so I'm guessing they didn't use any type of cleaner when they wiped them. The worst part of all of this was that I have an automatic air freshener in my main living space and after cleaning they turned it towards the wall. I didn't notice for two days so it was spraying my wall multiple times for those two days and peeled off the paint so now it needs to be touched up. I guess it was an honest mistake, but a hassle for me to now fix being 39 weeks pregnant. I would have given 3 stars for average, but after my wall needing to be touched up it went down to 2 stars. Overall, I'd say if you just want a basic cleaning they are fine as long as you don't leave out any automatic air fresheners and don't mind checking their work, but if you're looking for detail cleaning this isn't the company to hire. On a side note I paid by check the day of service then I get a call 2 months later saying I was sent an invoice to pay and if I could pay. I explained I wrote a check at time of service and wasn't comfortable to write another without canceling the first. I was told they would look for the check end call me back. I was called again a few weeks later again asking to pay the bill! The lady on the line seemed to not know anything about the first call. I told her I would gladly pay but I need to stop payment on first check and would take charge off of what I owed as it wasn't my fault their employees lost it. Shortly after this the check was found by the employee. Needless to say it was a little bit of a hassle. read more

I was charged $50/hr per cleaning person for a deep clean that included the kitchen and hallways. After spending over $400 the kitchen cabinets near the stove still had grease on them, the floors were not mopped, and floorboards were filthy. Use another cleaning service. read more

Prompt, fast, reliable service. Rates are better than most. Can add-on carpet cleaning service if needed.

We have been using Silvia's for over 15 years and have always been very happy with their service. They do a very thorough job cleaning and have great attention to detail. They are also both consistent and responsive to special requests. In particular, Elvia has been with us the whole time. Because of that, there is an even higher level of faithfulness and consistency. More recently she has been joined by Sandra who has made it even easier to communicate regarding any needs or issues. We could not be happier and strongly recommend this company and their well-trained staff of cleaning professionals. read more

I really, REALLY wanted to recommend these people, because Silvia herself is very nice, and I have always been sweet and polite in my dealings with her. But after they DESTROYED my record of my children's heights written on the wall, I could not, in good conscience, keep working with them. It was like pouring acid over a cherished photo album, and I will confess I was and am still heartbroken. A year ago, they cleaned the knobs on my toaster oven, and in the process, scrubbed all the numbers off! It is hard to use a toaster oven with all the degree markings obliterated. They also cleaned a garage sink and completely flooded my garage with 30 gallons of water when they failed to replace a washing machine drain. To this, I would add that they do not clean ON TOP of anything above about 4 feet high, and routinely miss dirty fingerprints around light switches, etc. Remarkably, I had these folks clean my modest, 1,100 square foot tract home for TWO YEARS! Trust me - it's NOTHING fancy - more Jeff Foxworthy than Beverly Hills. So this was NOT a one-time aberration. I had to remind the cleaners to clean stuff like light switches, dirty windows, dirty venetian blinds, etc. EVERY SINGLE TIME - probably THIRTY TIMES, the same set of reminders. In fairness, they **ALWAYS** made the bathrooms shine. But they have zero clue about how to clean houses. I think most of their business is offices, not houses, and they are apparently a one-trick pony who cannot adapt to the unique requirements of homes. I detect from our conversations that Silvia has a "poor little me" mentality. For the record, Silvia owns a fleet of cars, has about 30 employees, a full office staff, and a huge commercial contract portfolio. She has far more employees than I do. When I have [on more than a dozen occasions] told her that her staff did not, for example, clean on top of the TV, which is about 5 1/2 feet off the ground, she explained that her cleaners were not very tall! Come on! I'm "only" 5'10" tall, and I when I clean my house myself, I have to stand on something to clean the top of the door jambs, which are nearly 7 feet tall. When I knock down cobwebs, I use something with a long handle. She needs to get a clue. Her explanation for grinding the numbers off my toaster oven dials was that her cleaners did not know anything about toaster ovens. WHAT?? This is a friggin TOASTER OVEN, not a nuclear reactor. Her cleaners may not be English literate, but they thought it was OK to scour until "ON/OFF" was gone??? ...till "100", "200", and "300" were gone from the temperature dial?? Last time I checked, Mexcio still used the decimal system and Arabic numerals!!! For the record, my hugely capable college intern spoke fluent Spanish and English, so language was not a problem. I speak a modicum of Spanish myself. When I hired Silvia's the first time, I gave them a full checklist to work with in resoundingly good Spanish - which they routinely ignored. I suspect Silvia hires people who represent themselves as good cleaners and does not spend a cent on training them, on standards, or on mid-level supervision or accountability. Her services are not cheap, and I suspect she has a good expense ratio, so I cannot believe she cannot afford training. She has zero concept of checklists, quality control, management, or organization, except for a grueling, metronome-like schedule. I assume most of her employees are recent immigrants, and no one has more appreciation for the difficulties faced by recent immigrants into a foreign culture than I do. However, Silvia bears the responsibility for educating her people in what the job requires. If your employees do not know what a stove is, that is YOUR problem as the employer, not theirs, and certainly not mine. I should be able to EXPECT your employees to know what a stove is. As an employer with nearly 3 dozen in your workforce, you should provide that kind of training. Don't know how to provide training? There are, like, a zillion companies who do it, and for competitive prices. You don't do your own tax, I'll bet. See - you already know how to hire outsourced services! For the record, Service Master, Coverall, and a zillion other cleaning services who hire recent immigrants DO train their workforce! I have had these people do a poor job for years, and all they flooded my garage, destroyed my toaster over, and destroyed my cherished records of my children's height as they grew up. I work 12 hour days, but will probably clean my home myself before I ever let someone in to do it for me again. read more

My landlord uses Silvia's cleaning service for the apartment I live in and I can't imagine why. They stole a pair of sentimental eatings from me which I'll never see again.... They never vacuum the floors, or dust every surface. They constantly lock my dog on the balcony (which is fine) however, they never let her back in! I've told my landlord about this and put a stop to their "services". read more

I used Silvia's cleaning service and they weren't bad, but I wouldn't say they were great either. I think they do a really good job on windows and bathrooms, but eh on other areas. Their prices are median, but for about 2 hours for two people the cost was a little over $100. You can definitely find those who are more expensive, but there are also those who are less. If I had a rental or am moving in/out, i would use them again, but I wouldn't say they are the best service that i've used. read more

All I have to say is wow! Absolutely love Silvia's! My parents had used them off and on years back, and I recently started their services at my own place about a year and a half ago. I cannot stress enough how thorough their cleanings are. These ladies don't miss a spot. While I feel I keep my apartment tidy enough between cleanings, I'm consistently impressed at just how much shinier they can make it. I've found that they focus on finer details (individual dusting of smaller items, the forgotten area behind my furniture, etc.) as well as punctuality. The ladies are always on time, and can be in and out of my home within two hours. Another bonus is their awesome flexibility. I can call to schedule my appointment, and they are usually able to accommodate within one or two business days. It's always a pleasure speaking with the staff over the phone: they appear to be quite organized and professional, which I enjoy as a customer. If you have a Santa Barbara AXXESS Card, don't forget to mention it - Silvia's offers a discount on your first and fourth cleaning. All in all, a great deal. Recently, I bought my mother a cleaning for her house, for Mother's Day. She's a clean person, but was absolutely blown away over how much cleaner Silvia's got it to be. She raved on their attention to detail, and was so satisfied that she is now planning on using their services for her own home, on a normal basis. Talk about scoring some points with mom! Give this place a try - they will not disappoint! Thanks, Silvia and crew! Looking forward to scheduling my next cleaning soon. read more

I needed a deep clean for a family member at the end of the month for a move out...This place was an absolute disgusting mess...Literally inches of dust, Dirty old wood floors, Fans never cleaned(YUCK), windows never cleaned, Tub with accumulated rust, cobwebs, DISGUSTING refrigerator, Etc., Etc., Etc.....AND all the soot from the fires in the Ojai area. We had a very limited window on the move out day to get it done...Not only did I have this 2 bedroom house cleaned from top to bottom in 4 hours, it was immaculate! ***Best price also on 4 different quotes I received in yelp and they came in the least expensive than all the others....Save your time, just give them a call first and you'll see. Great Job ladies!!! I cant thank you enough...If I lived up there you would definitely be doing my monthly cleanings...Best of luck and well wishes to you. read more

I am thoroughly pleased with the service I received from Silvia's Cleaning. I have a 2 bed, 1 bath condo. I had them (two ladies) do everything but the bedrooms. They worked solidly for two hours while I was in the garage doing other projects. When they were finished, and I got to see everything, I was amazed. Kitchen, sparkling. Bathroom and shower, sparkling. Floors, wood furniture, stove, all sparkling. They even got to all the little areas I was sure they wouldn't get to. I am really very happy with everything, and I am planning on using them again. read more

I first used Silvia's approx one year ago. I was so happy with the service that I booked two more dates, one before Thanksgiving and one before Christmas. Both times I was pleased with the work that the two ladies did at my home. I just booked Silvia's each month through the end of 2020. The two ladies that come to my home are efficient, friendly, fast, and thorough. They leave my home sparkling clean and I just can't say enough on the service. Each time I call Silvia she returns my call promptly, if she doesn't answer when I first call. The cleaners arrive at the scheduled time and go right to work. I can't say enough about the service that Silvia's provides. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. read more

THIEVES! These people STEAL! I called them (being new to Santa Barbara) to have my carpet steam cleaned. They explained they used a company separate from there's. I asked their receptionist if I should call the other company directly and she said no, she could set up the appointment for me no problem. The other company came to clean the carpets and informed me if I would've called him directly I would've only paid $50 instead of $80. So this place charged me $30 for a PHONE CALL. Ridiculous. Not once did she mention the extra fee and NOT ONCE did she mention it would be cheaper to go through him (like I ASKED) since she would be making a profit. Dirty, crooked people here! When speaking to the owner he said "don't call us again". Oh trust me buddy, I won't. read more

Silvia's female crew has been cleaning my Carpinteria home for several years. The ladies are clean, respectful of my property and work hard to meet my expectations. I first used this service in 2007, after looking at "best of" awards for Santa Barbara. The first job exceeded my expectations: thoroughly clean, every thing in place but dusted, all trash bins emptied with new liners, etc. A second cleaning was the opposite: crumbs still obvious in kitchen, trash taken out but no liners in the bins and such. I stopped using this service until calling again in July 2010. The bottom line is that a paella pan and cover that retails for about $180 went missing. Miscellaneous small items were also missing from the bathrooms. I was most concerned about the pan and its cover. The first response I got was that it was placed in the trash. The trash service already arrived in early morning before the cleaning crew so trash from the cleaning day was not due to be removed for one week. I couldn't find it in the trash. I requested the person responsible for placing them in the trash go and retrieve them. I was refused by the secretary. The response I later got from the owner got was that in a move out cleaning anything left behind can not be expected to be the client's property any longer, even though I requested return / retrieval of the items. In addition, the owner was unwilling to credit me any reduction from my payment of over $330. ---- Addendum: A little more than five months after I wrote the above, I did receive a $90 payment with a letter of explanation from the service, sent via the Better Business Bureau where I made a complaint. The owner persisted in defensive language, implying the service's actions were reasonable because, in a move out situation, the residence needed to be left empty for the next tenants. This overlooks my interactions with the company noted above as well as facts I did not list, most important of which is that I still had about 10 days before the end of the month when the cleaning was done. In any case, this is an improvement over previous complete refusals to make any sort of amends to me. read more

I've used Silvias cleaning a few times. And they where fabulous! I think if people where MORE specific with the type of cleaning they want. If something of that value meant so much to you, YOU wouldnt leave it behind. No one in the right state of mind will. Its only common sence! i had to chance to speak to silvia and her secretary and they where both very polite with me. I was moving out of a rental property and this cleaner was on a list recommended by the landlord. The cleaners arrived late, left early, and did not do a portion of the cleaning that was requested. When I called the company to discuss the problem, the manager and owner were argumentative and insisted they had not done anything wrong. While they did lower the cost of the final bill slightly, they charged a 2.5% processing fee that they did not disclose for the credit card that I was required to use. read more

I tried Sylvia's cleaning for a second time. It was a move out cleaning. To the credit of the actual cleaners.. they did a very good job. It was a large space but not very dirty . So they were fine. The trouble is with the management. I called for an appt and a quote.. I was given a price range based on time and level of dirtyness. Fine. When the ladies finished I called and left a message at Sylvias..requesting a call back to authorize the final charge on my credit card they had on file for me. The call came minutes later. We agreed on the time the ladies were there. I was told my charge was 265. I said I approve of the charge.. Go ahead and charge my card. When I checked my bank account.. I had been charged #04 and change! I called for explanation. Now I'm told my charge was actually 296. and a 2.5 percent cc processing fee!!. I told them I didnt authorize that amount and they cant make changes like that without contacting me. They didn't care or... offer a refund. I wont ever use them again.. read more
