The staff is always nice and friendly. My husband and I have always loved the loaded potato and bbq sandwich. Today, though, it was very "off". The barbeque was EXTRA, EXTRA vinegary. You couldn't taste anything but vinegar. That's not the good southern BBQ we were used to. It was more like Carolina BBQ, which is horrible. But, I'm not counting you out. Maybe it was just a bad day or maybe you've changed it altogether. I hope it goes back to the way it was. read more

Their bbq is excellent and you get a lot of it for the price, but their loaded baked potato is amazing. Very friendly staff.

Silverware's is a local favorite of the Toombs Co. area. My go to is the always delicious and super filling BBQ Baked Potato. I usually get 2 meals out of one order. There BBQ is always consistent and you know your going to get this Southern favorite just as you remembered last time. Their sides are always fresh and tasty. I have even used them on several occasions for catering events and their portions are large and they are always on time with the deliveries. The owner is attentive and courteous as are the rest of the staff. Definitely give this place a try! read more

Apparently as a result of that very innocent and genuine question the Mgt reported me as a "spammer" to Facebook. Clearly the people who own this are not very nice people. read more

This gem is off the beaten path in the little town of Lyons, GA. You see a silo, red building, and a wood shed behind it. The smell of smoked meat fills the air and my stomach signals me that I have found my next meal. The owner greeted me with a warm small town smile and handshake. I ordered the "World Famous" Loaded Potato. I was handed a clamshell box that weighed enough to be a sack of potatoes and small pig. I also grabbed a tub of his Oreo pudding. I sat down with my potato fit for a king and was blown away. My palate and stomach was extremely pleased as I slowly enjoyed this amazing meal. Kiddos to you sir at Silverwares you have served me the best barbecue meal I have found from here to Louisiana. Please take the drive to this place. HOLY COW, the food here is amazing. I used to live in Vidalia but for the past 10 years have lived in Southern California, where good bbq absolutely does not exist (Californians thinking grilling meat on a gas grill is bbq'ing). Tonight while visiting family, I tried out the beef ribs here. Some of the best I've had in a very long time and, possibly, ever. Very juicy, and great smoke flavor profile and smoke ring. The meat just slides off the bone. I'm also a big fan of vinegar-based bbq sauces, so I loved the sauce here (although my only complaint is that the bbq could stand to be a little thicker; that, and you could have at least included a slice of bread or something with the order). Unfortunately, we didn't order any sides so I can't offer any insight into anything else on the menu, but based on the beef ribs alone, I strongly recommend this place. read more
