I'd give 0 stars if i could. Run Run RUN!! Don't rent from here. Management and ownership has taken a HUGE nose dive in the past 6 years. Don't be fooled by the silly playground, this place it not family friendly. I lived there approx 13 years total. (two different units)
Silverton Manor isn't the prettiest place, but it used to be a decent place to live with our community BBQs with neighbors, Easter egg hunts , holiday porch decoration contests, put on by management, who cared about each tenant and knew their names. People stayed for several years at a time. Now you'd be lucky if you knew your neighbor for more than a year. You'll be threatened to be towed quite often by the tow trucks that apparently "patrol all the time".
If you have more than one vehicle, you'll be told which vehicle can be parked in your numbered spot and which has to be parked in a visitor spot. On my move out day, I handed in my parking sticker (you had to turn them in, ripped up or not, or be charged $50!!) Literally 2 minutes after handing in my parking stickers, I was asked where I parked. I stated I parked in "my" spot, and I was told I should move my vehicle because I would probably be towed since I didn't have my parking stickers! (video proof) The place is completely dry rotted that is just painted over. Mold is every where inside and out (lots of photo proof) It isn't fixed, it's painted over and you, the tenant will be blamed for it as well.
I was charged for stains underneath the 15+year old carpet.
I was charged $25 for two .79 outlet covers that I replaced and several other ridiculous charges that are being disputed. You will never get your fill deposit back from this manager (reviews from bertolucci management will show you that as the manager worked for them when she first started with Silverton Manor.)
I'm not the only person who has had a horrible experience at Silverton Manor in recent years. You want to feel as though you live in a motel, then this is the place for you!
A past neighbor/friend had the owner shine his cell phone flash light in her face after she told him she was sensitive to bright lights (after being asked why the inside of her apartment was so dark) Several other women renters have similar stories about the owner/head maintenance man being intimidating to them.
A week after I moved 3 other families/units moved as well.
I miss my friends/neighbors, but nothing else. Terrible management. IF you move here, get everything in writing, take photos of EVERYTHING and doa check list when you move in and when you move out, take photos of EVERYTHING (whether you think it matters or not!), have someone with you, record interactions!
(Sonja P was a previous manager, and was great, she is no longer at Silverton Manor. When the apartments were sold in 2015 she left as the new owner was not trust worthy- which turned out to be true as he threw out past, present and potential tenant information, everything from copies of SSCs, birth certificates, licenses, checks etc... and guess who did the throwing out? The maintenance man who was charged with identity theft (proof of all of this in photos!) my neighbors and myself pulled as much of the info from the dumpster and turned it into the proper place where the owner was sued $8,000, but only had to pay 4,000 if he promised not to do it again. Insert eye roll.
Current owner/head maintenance and his employee removed my AC unit from my window without notice to let me know repairs outside my unit would be happening and I needed to remove my AC. The maintenance worker dropped and broke my AC unit and left no notice that it was damaged at all. I found out when I got home and it was no long running. When I turned it on, it shook the entire wall, rattling photo frames. They did end up repairing it after I put in a complaint, taking a month to do so, but had I not mentioned anything, they would not have owned up to it or repaired it at all. (My 13 yr old was home alone at the time when the AC was removed from the window.) read more
