Forum Apartments

I stayed here for a year while attending Willamette College of Law…read more I appreciated The Forum for: -Proximity to Safeway (literally across the street) -Proximity to Willamette (a short ~9 minute walk meant I got to wake up half an hour before classes) -Spacious interior (I had a 1 bedroom and couldn't fill it with furniture on my own) -Accommodating and friendly management (they were willing to work with me to resolve problems that arose with my payment) -Other tenants (I had no problems with noise from them and everyone was friendly) My only knock on The Forum was that ambulances regularly drive down Center street which was annoyingly loud at first. Although after a week I grew accustomed to them and now don't notice them. Still, if you have a choice try to get a non-north-bordering room.

Forum Apartments has bed bugs. They do little to rid the complex other than then office has powder…read moreand bed bug leg entrapments for the legs of your bed. The apartments are old and outdated plus they have mold. The apartment manager is so rude and is outright nosey. Avoid these apartments at all costs because once you have bed bugs from these apartments you'll carry them on you to work giving the bugs to your coworkers, you'll carry them on you to your family and friends homes giving them bugs, and you'll carry the bugs with you where ever you move next. Fact: Bed bugs don't always leave bit marks on a person so don't let the apartment manager manipulate you. Don't believe me...Google Bed Bugs and do the research!

Attention SENIOR CITIZENS! We, as senior citizens, find the Fairway Apartments (an all-age…read morecommunity) a wonderful place to call home! If you are looking for comfort, community and peace of mind, the Fairway truly stands out. This is more than just a place to live--it's a welcoming community where seniors can enjoy life to the fullest. Residents love the variety of activities that keep life engaging and social. Whether it's gathering around the firepits on a cool evening, enjoying a barbecue with neighbors, or relaxing by the swimming pool, there is always something to look forward to. Last Christmas, we reserved a very expansive clubhouse activity center for a family gathering. It was decorated beautifully! It welcomed us with a fabulous Christmas tree and decorations galore! This center has a full kitchen, large fireplace with comfortable seating, a dining table, TV, pool table and the list goes on. The Fairway's exceptional management team had everything ready for us! They are always prompt to respond to all our needs. Great amenities. A vibrant community. Outstanding management. Really--what could be better than that?

The customer service of the staff is absolutely horrible. I was quoted twice the wrong amount for…read moreour rent. Also, when I moved out to get away from the bad customer service, I went from getting a refund to owing them over $1800 just like that. They "accidentally left something out." Also, god help you if you need help after 5:00pm or on the weekends. The location, units, and grounds are all awesome. But due to the horrible customer service of the staff, I would not recommend this place. I will tell the same thing to everyone that I know who is looking for an apartment.

I lived in Northplace Apartments for a year. The environment is clean and quiet (except for Mondays…read moredue to lawnmowing that seems to take up to 8 hours..?). The office building including the lounging area, the indoor gym, and the pool are kept in immaculate conditions, rain or shine. I had my clashes with Northplace but decided to give the place 4 stars for one major reason, and that is the amazing Maintenance Team. I have rented in various apartments in NYC, Chicago, and OC of SoCal. No place comes close to the courteousness and professionalism of the folks at Northplace. Their empathy and apologies are sincere, and they really know how to deliver the best resolution for problems at your unit. If you happen to rent at Northplace and run into trouble, my only suggestion is to be patient but persistent. They mean no intentional inconvenience. Best of luck.

All cold air come in house in windows and at doors at winter and very much high bill for heater in winter and they no stop cold air and help her. Upstairs the people fight and scream all night time. Lady ant office smile nice and she nice but they no fix pool and man to. Not live here find not cheap everything inside to live. Lot of fake reviews and bribes to write good reviews. We recently moved out of Forest Ridge after nine months. We unfortunately had to break the lease…read moreearly but the termination fee was not nearly as bad as what I've heard from other places. Pros: Good location- right next to River Road but just far enough out of town that it's fairly peaceful and quiet Decent landscaping Spacious apartments Friendly and attentive management and maintenance staff Washer and dryer in unit Pet friendly Cons: Mold so much mold Parking Loud neighbors that smoked on their porch constantly (cigarettes and weed) and also yelled at their kids non stop but you can't choose your neighbors so I'm not sure if this is really a con Outdated appliances Overall I enjoyed living at Forest Ridge for the short time we were there but there's definitely some things that need fixed. It's a challenge to keep up with the mold. We are new to Oregon and were told by management that this is the norm but no one else I've asked seems to have this issue with their homes. I asked a lot of people at my work and they were all a little flabbergasted by what I told them. It grew in the corners and the windowsills and the bathtub and behind the toilet. It was exhausting and nothing I did helped. I'm pretty sure it's part of the reason my kids were always coughing. As for the appliances, I swear our oven / stove was from the 1970s and didn't work as well as I wish they would have. So many times our food burned due to the temperature settings being off. Despite the cons, I would still recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place in Salem but I would definitely give some warnings about the aforementioned things. A little updating and I think this complex will be phenomenal! We for the most part enjoyed living here.

*Be careful with all the additional charges. They charge $40 monthly for EACH pet plus a $300 pet…read moredeposit for EACH pet. I have never had to pay monthly pet rent before or pay an additional pet deposit for each pet either. They charge $25 monthly for the first car and even more for the second car. I have never had to pay a monthly fee to park my cars at an apartment I am renting before. You are responsible for paying for your own apartment energy which is expected but they also charge you monthly for water, sewer, trash, common area electricity, common area gas and for public service and this is something that I have never had to pay for at a rental either. I also get charged a "service fee" every month for over $45 for using a credit card to pay the rent and the extra charges. It is a nice place to live if you can afford the rent and all the add on charges but you do have to watch out for the dog poo in the grassy areas. The mailboxes for packages was broken into well over a month ago and sadly the broken locks still have not been repaired. Our unit does not have air conditioning and the inside of our apartment hit 90 degrees on these hot summer days, we were roasting and it was awful. I am not sure that any of these units have air conditioning so you may want to verify what your unit actually has before getting a nasty surprise. The last thing to note is the pool was closed randomly on many of the hot summer days, I am not really sure why it kept closing so often but what a bummer to have a pool and have it closed so often during the summer. The pool is not open year round. To make matters worse, my wife can hear "noises" from the neighbor. Now everything is ruined and we won't be staying much longer.

Where to start with this place...I've been a resident for a couple years, prior to moving here I…read moremoved from an apartment complex where I was paying $795 a month for rent for a two bedroom. At the Meridian I am paying about $1400 in total rent. One would think that a $1400 price tag comes with premium services right? Wrong! 1. This place was under construction/renovations for what seemed like an eternity. During that time we experienced power outages, a flood in lobby, our hallway filled with construction personnel, all kinds of dust and debris etc.. 2. I have witnessed TOO many changes in management/staff. In only the past few months there has been about 4 or 5 staff changes. I feel like every time I walk in to pay rent a new person is there. Therefore, every time I email the staff its a new person, I have to explain myself again etc.. I have visited the office to speak to the manager and there is usually no manager, "the previous manager is no longer working with the company". Expect at least a week delay to hear back from an emailed request. 3. Lack of professionalism from staff, maybe this is why they keep changing the staff. I went in to talk about some issues in my apartment and the leasing associate was chewing gum the entire time. It was extremely unprofessional in my opinion. There also seems to be a blame game going on, anytime I try to get anything addressed, the staff blames it on another staff member. 4. Nothing is ever 100% working. We were supposed to have the ability to pay online EONS ago, and that has been an ongoing battle. 5. BEWARE rent increases. I have had almost 2 or 3 rent increases. Needless to say I am looking at other options. 6. This place advertise SECURE building? This is a complete joke, I have talked to management many times about this. I've seen transients from downtown walk into the lobby and hang out. Don't get me wrong, the apartments are nice. However, for the price tag one should receive better service. I can honestly say I received better service when I was paying $795 in rent at another place. It wasn't "SALEM'S PREMIER LUXURY APARTMENTS" but the value was priceless. **Update: there is currently no manager? There is only ONE new person currently in the office**
