Unfortunately for me, I scheduled my vacation the week they aerated the greens, so they were still sandy. Fortunately for me, my partner and I agreed that ALL second putts were good! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my honor to have been paired with Frank , who said he has played Oak Hills Park 300 times a year since he retired 20 years ago! Not only is he knowledgeable about the course and it's recent history, he is just a super nice man. Golf is a social sport, meant to share with friends. Frank and I shared some great conversation and he is living proof that you don't have to hit the ball a long way as long as you can consistently hit it down the middle! I am inspired! I hope to return to Oak Hills, perhaps this next Spring!

Once you finally pay, the clock starts ticking, yet they take another five minutes to set up the course and get the balls ready. The system never works properly with the tee, so you waste most of your playtime fixing it or chasing balls from one side to the other. On my last visit, the floor was actually slanted, not flat. When I complained, they took forever to fix it, but of course, the clock kept running. And to top it off, they charged me for going 15 minutes over the hour, even though that time was lost to their own setup issues and poor management. As a Little League coach who planned to bring families here, I can say confidently: we won't be back, and I can no longer recommend this place for team or family outings. Norwalk Cove Marina offers 18 holes of miniature golf for $9 per adult. You won't find any…read morewindmills, loop-de-loops, or other fun obstacles on this course; rather, rocks placed in the middle of holes, "bunkers" and "rough" (made of longer artificial grasses), and the slopes and bricks shaping each hole are what will challenge your score. In a sense, it's a much more golf-like version of miniature golf that tests good putters who can plan their shots and use good touch to get putts close. And the staff has kept the course in good shape. While I enjoyed the challenge, I feel like there is a missed opportunity here to make this course really fun and memorable. Not many mini-golf courses are located on a marina, so even if there were more boat/ocean/anchor/seashell-type decorations around the course (even if management didn't want to change the layout of the course), I think it would feel more enjoyable.
