Turns out that my 460 sqft deck unexpectedly rotted and weathered, requiring the entire surface to be redone. His expertise pointed out structural issues that needed to be addressed when others never mentioned of it. During the entire process, from scheduling estimates to completing the work, communications were very responsive through email and phone calls. Richard provided options to fit my budget and was always willing to provide recommendations. No pressure was ever given to purchase or upsell unnecessary items and he was flexible to changes when certain upgrades were requested. While there were some delays once the project started, I was very happy with having Hedahl Landscape do the work. I was flexible to the project start date as they are usually backed up with other work, so 6-8 month lead time may be needed but was worth the fantastic quality at the end. + Excellent Communications + Clear Work Breakdown and Pricing + Accurate Estimates and Costs + Excellent Work Quality + Demolition, Waste Removal, and Site Cleanup Superb

I'd recommend Shawn to anyone: his knowledge, efficiency, customer engagement, and outcomes…read moredelivered are outstanding. He's a networking and IT superstar. Costs: If you are upgrading your home network or other capability, and need to buy new/more gear, Shawn doesn't charge a markup on the equipment. In fact, once he's designed your solution he will provide you with links to the exact products required and let you buy them directly from the vendors if desired. Or he'll buy them himself and present you with the receipts. Hourly rate: With the skills Shawn possesses, his hourly rate is substantial. And it should be. However, you can still bring your project in at a very reasonable cost PROVIDED you can be a smart customer. By this I mean you must be clear on the capabilities you want to achieve--or at least be able to listen to Shawn describe what's possible and then make rapid decisions. If instead you want a lot of customer education, Shawn can do that too because he knows an immense amount about IT and can communicate effectively. However, it's a bit like paying for a neurosurgeon to teach you about the types of aspirin available to treat a headache. That doesn't make sense; get a nurse instead! In my case, my wife and I work from the house. My goals were to increase the reliability of our home network. We wanted better maintainability (so when the internet goes down I can rapidly identify the problem and fix it). We wanted better network security. I wanted to add a home security camera because of problems with car prowls, etc. And finally, I wanted to move our networking gear out of our super-hot furnace room to a cooler and cleaner location. This was a lot. Other vendors had previously failed to come up with an affordable solution--or any solution at all. Shawn showed us how to do it for a very reasonable sum. Once we had a plan, I was able to control costs by getting a carpenter friend to open up the wall and pull wires through to the new location for the gear. Shawn also kept costs down by allowing me to provide extra hands as he mounted gear on the wall, connected all of our wireless access points to the new console, etc. These steps all require two people. Shawn was willing to let me help and he even maintained a high level of wit and good-natured ribbing throoughout the long day of work. In sum: great outcome, great satisfaction, great price. I especially appreciated how the two activity directors reached out to my mom and other residents, encouraging them to join in the many social activities provided at Clearbrook. While not pushy, Marty and Marsha became personally friendly with Mom, and made it easy for Mom to say "yes" to opportunities such as sewing, crafts, news time, music events, and cooking. I had the pleasure of joining Mom at several parties around the holidays. They were joyful events. I ate several meals at Clearbrook and found the food to be nutritious and tasty. Mom sat with the same 3 ladies at each meal. My hunch was that staff figured out who would be most likely to get along and enjoy one another and some good friendships developed as a result of how tablemates were handled. There are many kind caregivers who helped Mom and she had her favorites. One was named Nora. Nora was also helpful to me when Mom's memory declined. When Mom had difficulty remembering how to dress herself in the morning, Nora described how she helped her dress, but as much as possible set things up so Mom could do part of her own dressing and preserve her dignity. Also, I appreciated how Clearbrook coordinated with Moms' physicians. I found the nurses to be helpful and kind. One complaint is that at one point, Mom's level of care rating called for her to have assisted showers. There were gaps in that service. I understand that a change in staffing is the explanation for that oversight. Nonetheless, I give Clearbrook an overall Excellent rating. After a year, Mom accepted Clearbrook as her home.
