In addition, I've been experiencing a leveling issue with my fenced backyard. After the initial appointment, I requested an estimate for the fence repair. My friend Misty had it all covered! Since writing my review of…read moreAugust 7, 2025 regarding Richmond Hill Handyman, I have had the chance to clarify the friction caused by the project Joel and his crew worked on. Even though I was critical in my review, all in all, it was acknowledged that the work done was professionally done. For sure, if a client wants work completed in a specific manner, it needs to be documented, as sometimes things discussed were not calculated into the estimate, and/or were perceived as future projects that needed an estimate and acceptance where both sides understand the terms and parameters of the obligations and commitments. I wanted to delete the review of Aug7, 2025, but, didn't see an option on YELP to do so. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I'm from the stone ages on the 20th century that I just didn't see the delete button for a previously submitted review, or maybe it just was never an option to remove a posting. Whatever the case, the two star review I previously submitted on YELP for Richmond Hill Handyman is inaccurate and should be ignored by those looking at reviews for this business.

They did superb with pre wiring as well had providing and setting up equipment. They tuned out rooms to perfection no matter what house we had. Their service after installation is equally awesome. As for houses that were not new builds, they were creative and solution oriented and there was nothing we could throw at them that they could not provide a great solution for. They even did the outdoor speakers for the pool. We could not be more impressed and we continue to use them and recommend them. They are indeed the best.

He did a great job of aligning several doors. However, painting is another matter. When you paint…read moreyou also paint the trim around the windows installed on a door, requiring blue masking tape and time. He did not paint the windows trim, just the door(s) up to the trim. Sloppy, shoddy, and unprofessional. Similarly, he got paint on the tabby coating on both sides of the front door, and left paint missing from around the dead bolt. Then came the pocket doors fiasco. I approach this by stating what should have happened. First you inspect and remove one lock and see if it can be repaired and learn what fault exists, potentially precluding excess labor and time. Instead he went to Lowe's to obtain replacement locks, both of which he stated were seriously lacking substance. Yet, he elected to spend two hours boring out new frame openings to allow these new locks to be used. The only way to use the outer door lock is to engage it fully before shutting the door, a quirk, but it worked. The inner master bath lock was another matter. Hours after he left I used the toilet room and engaged that lock, the one never shown while he was present; it was wobbly, made a clicking sound when closing the door, was cheaply made, but it locked. When I tried to open it, it took me four minutes to open the door. I informed him this was unacceptable and these need to be replaced. I ordered replacement locks from Amazon, and kept his apprised of their arrival, so he could repair his mistakes. This never happened. He has no intention of fixing my doors after screwing up the framing. Thus, keep him away from painting doors and repairing locks on pocket doors.

He had a tech come promptly and check out the damage and after reviewing the options, I went ahead and had Keith and his crew replace my now dead Plasma TV with a new LG OLED monitor, Denon receiver and associated accessories.
