Joanie is someone you don't want to work with and trust your money and future corgi with. It's her feelings and problems that come first even though she is running a "business". She lies and changes her words when she is confronted. Very disrespectful towards her paying customers. Once your down payment is given to her you are considered to be on her "back burner" list. She will be attentive in the beginning, but after she has your deposit your questions and concerns are out the window. Multiple occasions she disregarded our questions and concerns then states that she has been going through personal problems. I understand to that extent, but when someone you just met goes into detail about their WHOLE life it makes you uncomfortable. Also it seemed like every week there was another excuse or incident occurring that didn't give her a chance to snap a picture of our dog that takes 30 seconds to do. Her response to that is " your dog is fine, I'm not". What a joke. Lastly, she not only took away one dog from me, but two. If it were illegal to be terrible human beings, then Joanie Ruggles and her daughter, Kaylee Tisdale have committed that crime. I feel for the woman who wrote the Yelp review a week ago (Today is 4.7.2019) who has a corgi that sired a puppy from a dog she already has. It is unconscionable to breed a dog without the owner's knowledge. At the most, Silver State Corgis owes her a puppy. Unfortunately, my husband and I have a similar story to hers. We have a dog from SSC and were contacted by Joanie to take her dog, Tommy. This was late October of last year, and we made plans to take possession of the dog at Thanksgiving. My husband and I planned to drive to Reno from Las Vegas and rented a non-refundable vehicle to drive. THEN, Joanie contacts us and wants to push up the date, and says she can have the dog delivered to us. We say, okay. But, the night the animal is to be on the transport, about 11 in the evening, she contacts us and says, "Sorry, I just love him too much and I can't let him go." We let it go, because all we care about is the welfare of the animal, anyway. We understand falling in love with a dog. Anyway, we are contacted AGAIN about this same animal by Joanie in late March of this year. She wants to sell him, so we negotiate with her to have her daughter, Kaylee Tisdale bring him down from somewhere outside of Winnamucca. Originally, she wants to bring the dog down on April 9th, but then contacts us and wants to bring the dog down Friday, April 5th. The deal is sketchy to begin with, as Joanie wants to change the agreement and add on an additional $500 for gas, and a hotel room for her daughter. We agree because a single Friday night at a hotel in Las Vegas on short notice can be expensive, and we considered that a fair estimate for gas. We were told to expect Kaylee in the evening on Friday, but my husband got a text from her to come to the Railroad Pass Casino in far south Henderson at 2pm Friday, and that she is already anxious to leave because the traffic was getting heavy. She says she will wait until 4 to allow me time to get off work and make it down there. She wanted to make the exchange at the truck stop Chevron that is in front of the casino. As we are driving, we get several more anxious texts from her, urging us to hurry up, as she wants to leave. We agree the traffic is worse than usual due to a Presidential visit. We get there and she is there with the dog. I brought my SSC corgi with us, to show her how big he has become, and he freaks out, slips his lead, and takes one look at her and runs. I trust my dog, so he knew something was wrong. She made a grab for him, and he snapped at her. I motioned for her to back up so I could get my dog under control, and I eventually did but my heart was in my mouth the entire time because it is a very busy truck stop. At no time, does my dog approach Tommy. I get my dog back in the car, and I have a text from her that says, "I can't leave my dog with you. He snapped at Tommy, and you don't have him under control." My dog was too busy running away to snap at the other dog. I got him under control because she finally did what I asked and allowed me to get him under control without scaring him. If all this implies I am a bad trainer, so be it. But, I have trained two service and one therapy dog and I know what I know about my animal. I also know that corgi owners talk to one another and dogs that have been homed here in Las Vegas from SSC, including my dog, required medical intervention for upper respiratory illnesses and giardia immediately on delivery. I also expected Tommy to need immediate medical intervention, so I already had a vet appointment for him. She drove off, and would not respond to further calls or texts. Neither would her mother. They have closed the business and claim they are leaving in their RV's for Tennessee. I feel sorry for Tommy. I feel bad for other people who have been burned by these people and their terrible business practices. I feel for the people who have put down deposits on dogs only to be told their puppy died and that their money was non-refundable. She has claimed previously that she was an AKC registered breeder, and that my dog has papers. I have never received them, and the AKC has never heard of her. Despite this fraudulent misrepresentation, I love my dog. I suspect mine has protected me from further heart ache. We purchased a puppy from Kayley 8/28/2020. The phone conversations were great. Meeting and picking up the puppy was fine. Within 2 days the puppy was in the emergency room vet. We almost lost her. Whatever they had been feeding her ripped her apart. When I contacted Kayley she said she started her on food at 2 weeks old. The vet had never heard of such an asinine thing. Especially from a breeder. Nothing she said on the phone was true. She said she lived on several acres in Winnemucca with many animals when actually on a background check she lives in an apartment in Elko. I didn't google her name until the vet said this was wrong what they did. Thank God for good vets who pulled her through. She is only in it for the money. That's why she gave her to us so young.We have already spent over $3000 on vet bills not to mention what we paid for her. Kayley had lusted the puppies under the name Jamie. She told me it was because other breeders have used her pictures before. After I had talked her she listed my puppy for sale. She hadn't listed her before. Only her brothers. She said she hadn't had time yet to list the female so I knew the add was fraud. Kayley and her mother need to be shut down. read more

I was contacted last November by Kaylie Tisdale regarding if I wanted to purchase the daughter of my current corgi. I had purchased my current Corgi from silver state corgis one year ago. No mention was made when I purchased my current corgi that he had sired a liter of pups before I bought him...so I was surprised! I was so happy to be able to purchase his daughter, a tri colored corgi named Kincaid. Arrangements were made to meet in Reno in May for the exchange. Late March I received a text from Kaylie saying I had to meet in Reno the next week. (2 months ahead of schedule) I scrambled to gather the money together and made arrangements for my daughter to meet her in Reno. Joanie Ruggles and her daughter Kaylie had called off the deal two weeks previously and I was devastated. So was delighted when they changed their mind again out of the blue for the purchase to proceed. Monday morning when my daughter was on her way to Reno from California, Kaylie texted me once again and said the deal was off...with no explanation. In all fairness all payments for Kincaid were refunded in full, but I was heartbroken once again. They would not sign a contract before the purchase or tell me anything about Kincaid other than she had a litter of pups in February and she was about a year and a half old. The whole deal was pretty sketchy along with the fact of meeting in Cabela's parking lot for the exchange of cash and the Corgi. Silver State Corgis has closed in the last year and I hear the entire family is moving to Tennessee. Look out Tennessee! I believe they were operating a puppy mill, although Winnamucca SPCA could not confirm. I am happy my money has been refunded but worry about the well being of Kincaid...will she be bred over and over again in a puppy mill situation?
