Tartans Sports Bar - Tartans Bar

Tartans Sports Bar

I was in town working for a week, and was looking for a sports bar. Yelp suggested Tartans Sports…read moreBar, so I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did. TV's are everywhere. NFL Ticket during the football season. Always something to watch. I am a fan of the wings and the cheeseburger, VERY good food. More on the menu to enjoy. Bottled & canned beer (no beer taps), wine and liquor are available. To top it off, the owner is a gentleman, a real class act His name is Jaime Douglas, and his bar is outstanding! I found out that he and I were both down in Orlando at UCF in the early '90s, and it's hard not to think of how small a world it really is. Go to Tartan's have a drink, get some grub and tell Jaime that YELP was right; his business rocks!!

On this day it was the 50Cent wing night, so it seemed like it was busy. The girl that is in the middle of this photo answered the phone and proceeded to tell me they did not take orders over the phone if we were just picking up I then told her this order was to eat at the restaurant we were just going to pre order as we were a little short on time so I thought it was easier to order ahead of time to arrive, eat and go on about our day. She proceeded to take my order by saying "ok what do you want" during this conversation she said "you just need to get over here" I kind of laughed it off and thought she was just a little busy and I understand when people are busy, they tend to get rude without actually meaning to. I proceeded to give her my order, the entire time of our conversation she was very rude and unprofessional. Once we arrived, we could not get anyone to acknowledge we had arrived. The other waiters seen on this photo were walking past us as we stood at the door waiting to be seated. We spotted a table that was open outside, so we decided to sit there, my husband went up to the waiter on the left and told her we had placed an order over the phone and letting her know where we were seated. She just nodded her head and walked away. We waited for approx. 40 Mins to be acknowledged. No one ever came to ask us if we wanted a drink or what we were doing there. I decided to go ask the bartender if they knew we were there (the girl seen on the right) she said, "I remembered the girl taking the order over the phone, but we are super busy so we all really don't know what's going on here." I then asked the other girl seen on the right if she had notified our waiter we were there, and she shook her head no and said I don't know and walked off. This same waiter walked outside several times and asked all the other tables how everyone was and completely ignored my table with my husband my 3 children and me. Finally, after about 1 Hr. and young man came out with our food and noticed we had no drinks. He asked if we would like something to drink and we told him we would love that. Mind you this was not his job he was just delivering the food for the young lady seen in the middle of this photo. She was not seen the entire night up until we were ready to leave. I was very grateful for this young man who was actually the only one out of all the staff to acknowledge we were actually there. This place was absolute chaos. He was on it the entire night delivering food to other tables that were not even his own and filling drinks as well as tending to his tables. When we were done eating, we waited to see if our waiter was going to bring us the bill after about 20 mins I had to go to the bar and tell them to bill us please after being ignored all night we were ready to leave. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant with my children in my life. I really don't like that my children had to experience this as well. It was a very negative and impactful experience for them. She finally decided to come out and give me the bill. I proceeded to tell her the way she treated us from the moment we spoke on the phone was very rude and unprofessional, I am a very understanding person. She should have just said no I rather you all come in have a seat then orders, and I would have been ok with that. Instead, she rudely took my order and decided to ignore us while we were there including the rest of the staff except the kind gentlemen mentioned earlier, Rory I believe was his name. I have sent a message to their FB page waiting to hear from the owner Jaime and have yet to hear from him. Although my family and I have always enjoyed their chicken wings we refuse to support a business that is ok with treating their customer so poorly. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

City Of Legends Sports Bar & Grill - Spinach Dip

City Of Legends Sports Bar & Grill

Basically same place as previous place, Draft Sports Bar. Same bar, same tables same pool tables…read moreand TVs. Food is a tad different and the same style. Wings, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and sandwiches . But they do a southern style home cooking with specials on Sunday. It changes from meatloaf, fried chicken, fish (whitting) . On to our food. We started with the spinach dip, it is definitely home made, good taste, not the over creamy stuff that's probably frozen. Good cheesy taste and tortilla s are fresh. $6.50 Daughter ordered the 1/4 lb burger with normal toppings, comes with fries for $8.00 plus .50 cheese. We got order of 24 wings, 12 hot buffalo, breaded and 12 lemon pepper, also breaded. The burger is a sad sad excuse for $8. Horrible size it looks not much bigger than a flattened meatball. Wings are good, but came out barely warm and the $4 fry is just a frozen half basket of yuck. So not impressed. They've been open 2 weeks now and only 1 other table of customers at prime rating location. No signage on front of building and the building is WAY off street half hidden by Denny's. I haven't seen much advertisement on social media or in local papers. Good luck getting business . Exactly why previous restaurantt closed. No one knew it was here, but at least the food was better quality at old place. One more thing. Debit or credit card is a 3.5% upcharge.

So I had the $8 burger + the .50 to add cheese talk about a big wast of $8.50 on a burger and…read morefires. But I will say this the burger had the good flavoring that you look for in the burger but the size of the burger being smaller than the bun! I will never order the burger here again unless they increase the size of the burger to match the price. And maybe give a cheese options of cheeses and maybe offer to season the fries. The spinach dip was good you could tell it was fresh homemade along with the chips just kinda wish the dip wasn't so greasy. The grease made it look unpleasant to look at. Not much of things from when this location was the draft has changed. There's no personality to make it stand out for what this place was with the past businesses that where here. And when I hear a place called City of Legends it makes me think of New Orleans kind of soul food/bar food but that's just my take on it.

I got the Down Home burger with mac and cheese on the side. My boyfriend got the slider sampler pulled pork, blackberry habanero chicken, and brisket. We got a side of curly fries to share. The fries were delicious with my burger. The mac and cheese was thick; you could tell it was made with high quality cheese, my favorite kind. My boyfriend thought the blackberry habanero sauce was too spicy but the other two were good. The size of drinks here are gigantic! Love the coke.

Been a regular here for years. I saw others briskly turned away for the same bs reason. No rain on radar the next 24 hours or in forecast. When I politely asked if they were short-staffed, both said (separately) "no we don't want our staff getting wet." When I offered to retrieve our orders indoors and bus our own table (again, minimal cloud coverage, no chance of rain) I was told "no". When I asked for a logical reason they were turning customers away ( 8:15 on a Friday night) the "waiter/manager" exasperated and bored sounding, said "why are we having a discussion about this". They obviously don't give a s**t about their employers' business. Or customers. Or manners. Or even trying to come up with a good lie. We are now seated on the patio of The Hound, where they welcomed us on a full patio with a sunny disposition and the ability to recognize clear skies and good business practices. (You know, just being decent, honest and respectful humans who are employed to serve customers in a restaurant with a patio. ) UPDATE: Of course it never rained. And The Hound was the silver lining in the non-clouds. What a great patio and food and service! Going to leave a review for them next.

Suitcase Social Club Dispatch No. 47: "Timmy vs. The Lumberjacks"…read more If you've ever wondered what happens when a grown man with sales quotas, a mild caffeine imbalance, and the attention span of a golden retriever discovers competitive lumberjack sports streaming on the bar TV... well, allow me to submit Exhibit A. I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. One minute I'm thinking "I'll just have a snack," and the next I'm waist-deep in a basket of fried circles of temptation, crunching my way into oblivion while pretending to "work." My laptop was open, sure, but let's not lie to ourselves -- I got absolutely nothing done. I was too busy yelling advice at professional lumberjacks like I'd trained for this moment my whole life. Tim the Suitcase Regular Rating Breakdown: * Atmosphere: Cozy but with the unpredictable energy of a log-rolling final * Food: Fried pickles that could ruin a man's productivity in the best possible way * Service: Friendly, fast, and kindly nonjudgmental of whatever fever dream I was living in * Entertainment: 10/10 involuntary lumberjack immersion If you're looking for a place where you can lose an entire afternoon under the noble banner of "I swear I'm still working", Main Street Bar & Eatery is the arena. Suitcase Social Club™ stamp of approval: Earned.
