It's hard to beat at the price point especially if you are only here to sleep and won't be spending any significant time it your "hotel". The staff were very friendly and helpful, no issues there. After much deliberation I am giving it the full three, but likely by the closest margins of my reviewing career. First the positives; Unbeatable location smack in the heart of the booming "Mimo District" within easy walking district to many of it's most popular and iconic establishments including the great Caracas Bakery, the beloved local favorite Blue Collar restaurant, and most crucially the incredible Legion Park Farmers market on Saturdays directly across the street. Secondly this Mid-Century Art Deco gem is nothing short of a architectural classic, front the same famous architect behind among other things the iconic Miami Beach Bandshell, the grounds have retained a funky charm and unique character that are nothing short of enchanting, with plenty of flamingo heavy funky murals and artwork offering ideal selfie options along with the classic Instagram bait swimming pool that would surely make any influencer or those who aspire to become one's head spin. A very basic spread of coffee and bagels in the funky courtyard was bot better expected and then it looked, and offered the chance to meet and chat with a very interesting and international group of fellow guests. The Negative; The room, on first glance seemed in keeping with the hotels overall aesthetic and vibe in that it appeared artfully decorated if bare bones and sufficiently clean. Unfortunately it was only after we were all in and situated and back in the room getting ready for the night out did I discover that the bathroom, seemingly due to a disgustingly filthy vent on the ceiling had an extremely unpleasant and unrelenting odor. Furthermore when were were back in bed and sleeping in the middle of the night I was awoken by an extremely loud and gratingly harsh vaguely mechanical sound that I figured must have been due to some air conditioning or piping or something. It was only after I was so disturbed by the ongoing noise that I was forced to get out of bed and investigate did I determine that the rooms mini fridge was the source of said excruciating noice. I unplugged the mini fridge and went back to sleep, perplexed at how such noises could ever emanate out of such a small appliance. The next morning the foul odor in the was no better. So obviously the room was the factor that had me on the fence with this review. What ultimately pushed me over the line to a legit three stars however is the simple fact that this place is an exceptional value. It was under $200 for a prime Saturday night in peak season when we visited and most weeknights available for a cool $100. These fees are nothing less than incredible considering its location. This being the case, I can't say I wouldn't stay again, particularly if I was by myself and looking for a cheap excursion into Miami, but next time I would ask to see the room before checking in and check the bathroom in particular.

The hotel has an earthy, quaint elegance and is maintained in mint condition. Service is consistently excellent. The ambiance is calm and unhurried, with classic Mediterranean Revival architecture--graceful arches throughout and a striking 315-foot copper-toned tower modeled after Seville's Giralda. The lobby is especially memorable: a vaulted ceiling, beautifully detailed, and even two cages housing tropical finches. The lower lobby (downstairs) are boutique shops, La Fontana, and convenient access to the sporting facilities-- pool, poolside café (Cascade), tennis courts, golf course, and Fairways. Check-in is on the slower side, but the staff are polished and attentive, which softens the wait. Room Experience  Room 612 features a long balcony facing the city and excellent soundproofing--quiet and restful. The bathroom is narrow but charming, with earthy tiles that fit the hotel's aesthetic. Water pressure at the sink is impressively strong (good enough to clean rings), though the showerhead is noticeably weak. Towels are plush and absorbent, paired with Lather toiletries. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, and slippers are provided. Tea bags are included, though the Julius Meinl coffee machine's hot water carries a faint coffee taste--not a dealbreaker, just a minor quirk. Ironically, simpler coffee makers tend to produce better neutral hot water. Atmosphere & Stay Notes Interestingly, I didn't notice any corporate events during my stay, which made the hotel feel more private and relaxed--something I appreciated. One Concern One odd issue: I woke up with bites on my upper abdomen. I had opened the window, but the location and pattern are concerning--possibly bed bugs. This is something the hotel should investigate seriously. Bottom Line A beautiful, serene property with standout recreational facilities and refined service. A few minor inconveniences--and one potentially serious concern--but overall, still a place I would return to.

I have a little bit of a love affair with The National Hotel in Miami Beach. I recently spent a few…read moredays in Miami celebrating my birthday, and I had to go back. I have so many memories in this hotel that walking through the doors brings back an entire collection of nights, people, music and experiences. I've been to some incredible galas there, along with parties launching major liquor, wine and cigar brands, and I loved everything about those nights. I loved the people, I loved the music, I loved the energy, and I loved being surrounded by that beautiful old Miami Beach glamour. I actually dug deeper into the history of The National because I wanted to understand why I have such a strong attachment to this particular hotel. It opened in 1939 and was designed by Roy France, one of the architects who helped shape the Miami Beach skyline. What really struck me is that through its renovations, the hotel has continued to preserve so much of what made it special in the first place. The terrazzo floors, chrome fixtures, curved Art Deco details, the original architectural character and that incredibly long pool are still part of the experience. It was fully restored in 2014 and has continued to update its rooms and amenities without wiping away the personality of the original hotel. I can walk into The National and immediately feel like I'm in Miami Beach, not some newly manufactured version of Miami Beach. Even with all the changes that have happened around it, this hotel still has that elegance and sexiness that I remember. The music, the pool, the bar, the Art Deco details, the people coming and going, the whole atmosphere just works for me. I recently walked back into the hotel for my birthday and all of those old memories were still there for me, mixed in with whatever was happening that night. Even with the new and completely reinvented Delano right next door, I keep coming back to The National. I know the Delano has just gone through a massive renovation and reopened in 2026, but personally, I don't love what they've done with it. For me, it changed too much of the feeling that made the Delano special. The National doesn't make me feel that way. I walk through those doors and I still feel the elegance, the music, the energy and the memories, and that's exactly why I keep coming back.

Has a distinctly European style to it, but I'll tell you we booked through Expedia and I've got a suite room that had a separate setting area with a desk with two sliding doors king size bed with a decent TV. I will say that the additional sound bar is weird because it doesn't sync up with the TV so you get a little bit of a lag or an echo and the TV doesn't turn up by itself nor does the TV mute and allow you to play the sound bar separately so there's a little bit of a disparity. Also, we had trouble with our air-conditioning, but once I pointed it out within an hour, the maintenance man had fixed the air-conditioning for the whole fourth floor because I was in a room about 15 rooms away from my coworker and both of us had a hard time sleeping last night because the lowest temperature we could get the room was 73 which doesn't sound bad but if you're trying to sleep you need to be in the high 60s. Another weird thing is they don't have a refrigerator in the room, but they have a refrigerator on our bar and so I had to get creative with putting my water and stuff in there to get a cold. I'd rather just have a fridge. But the big one is the shower shower is just amazing. It has as many showerheads as you could ask for I think two on the ceiling for coming out of the wall plus the one that is mounted to a hose. My room also had a bidet, but I didn't give that a shot but definitely would stay here again. We sat at the bar one night and had probably some of the best bar service we ever had a restaurant was pretty decent. Did a separate review for Miranda Mediterranean. The last thing I would say is the mechanism that holds the toilet paper roll in my room was installed upside down so anytime you want to use the toilet paper. It would slide off and go onto the floor so it was installed upside down so some weird stuff but definitely the room itself was cool.

Room was spacious and very comfortable... bar area lively in the evening. We had a King Suite! Service generally good throughout the hotel .... EXCEPT the front desk, both staff and managers. I advance, I purchased as advertised "romance package" upon arrival, sparkling wine, roses and chocolate-dipped strawberries to be in the room. Upon arrival, nothing in room. I visited with the evening manager, and all would be fixed the following day. On Day 2, I stopped by the front desk to confirm all would be fixed that day. When we returned in the evening, the flowers showed up, but no bubbles or chocolates. I re-visited the front desk again the evening, and they were bewildered that things still weren't right. I went to the bar myself the retrieve the bottle of sparkling and glasses, the chocolates were to be delivered to the room. When the chocolates did not arrive after a couple of hours, I returned to the front desk yet again, to be told the kitchen was closed, so no chocolates that night. We checked out the next morning, having never received the full package. I was promised a call by the front desk manager, which never came. Total fiasco! Clearly, hotel managers are delegating responsibility for getting things done, not taking ownership interest in guests issues to solve them. Very disappointing ... we won't be back! Do not recommend EB Miami!
