4 hours ago on Google We have been coming to The Whaler's…read moreInn for years, which is why this visit was especially disappointing\. At over $615 per night, we expected a much better experience\. When we arrived, the toilet in our room was broken\. It took approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to repair, during which time we couldn't use the bathroom or shower before going out to dinner\. The bathtub also wasn't draining properly until we finally figured out a way to get it to drain ourselves\. In addition, the refrigerator wasn't cold on the first day\. We had actually called ahead to ask them to make sure it was turned on because we experienced the same issue during a previous stay\. The next day, we returned to the room to put our baby down for a nap and found contractors installing new carpet directly outside our door\. The constant hammering and nailing made it impossible for our baby to sleep\. We asked if the work could pause for just an hour, but we were told no\. The only solution offered was to move us to a much smaller room where the only bathroom was located inside the children's sleeping area, which wasn't a practical option for our family\. The staff offered us a bottle of wine as compensation, we declined\. We then asked if there was another way to make the situation right, such as adjusting our room rate, but the manager said no\. We've always enjoyed staying at The Whaler's Inn, which makes this experience particularly frustrating\. Maintenance issues can happen, but multiple room problems, disruptive construction during the day without accommodation, and the lack of a meaningful resolution left us feeling that the value did not match the price we paid\. We hope management will take this feedback seriously and improve the guest experience\.we will not be coming back . I do not recommend - the staff were SO RUDE

For years, we've had friends and family tell us how we have to visit Mystic. And since it's on the…read moreway between NYC (where we live) and Boston (where some family lives), we made it happen recently. This Hilton had the best rate we could find, as well as adjoining rooms that we were interested in, so we pulled the trigger. And it's a good hotel. It's clean, the beds were great, the shower was great, there's a decent fitness center, and there's a pool. It's also a minute away from the Aquarium, which is probably on your agenda, and super convenient. If you're thinking about staying here, or in Mystic at all, you probably have kids. If you don't, you should know that Mystic is kid central, and this hotel is absolutely catering to that crowd. If you're going to swim in the pool, you should know you're not going to be quietly swimming laps. It's a madhouse of kids splashing and jumping and watching the movie projected above the pool (Toy Story 2 when we were there). There's also crafts every day, snacks every day, and games and characters and bedtime stories on the weekends. They take their children's programming very seriously, which can be great if that's what you're into. Just beware.

What a great hotel! We booked here overnight for an impromptu weekend trip to Mystic. The workers…read moreat the concierge desk were very friendly and helpful. The checkin and check out process was a cake walk and straightforward. The hotel was clean and easy to navigate. We liked the location being just a short walk to the shops at Old Mistick, a Starbucks, and a McDonald's, and then a ~7 minute drive or Uber to Mystic Seaport. Very convenient! We will be back. Thank you!
