StepHouse Recovery has an amazing detox program with around the clock care for their clients. It is a safe, relaxing, friendly environment geared to help you succeed in living a sober life after detox. They provide food, take you on walks and have at least 3 group meetings a day to make sure you have the right mindset and clear headspace to fully recover. I have been living in StepHouse's female sober living home in Costa Mesa for about a month. The house I stay in has a capacity of 6 females. It is very clean and all the girls I live with are friendly and helpful. Living here has provided me with a stable environment where I feel safe and am able to live clean. Because of this program I have a roof over my head, I am happily clean and was even able to start a new job! Highly recommend this recovery program to anyone that is struggling to be and stay clean especially during the hard times of COVID!

Whether offering emotional support, thoughtful guidance, or simply being present, Antonia demonstrated a rare blend of professionalism and heartfelt care. I was admitted to SeaCliff on 8/25/17 after spending a week in New Start Detox in Santa Ana, Ca. I…read morewas scared. I had overdosed on heroin on 8/17/17 and an angel sent me to New Start telling me that I would go for detox and then to a longer term facility where I would be safe and taught how to get my life back together without the use of drugs and alcohol. When my detox discharged me and brought me to SeaCliff I was so terrified. I was angry, I had so much self hate, I had no self worth and I felt hopeless. The staff immediately assured me that those feelings were temporary and that it would get better. It did. I met the owner, Daryll, that day. He had an open door policy. Daryll ended up being like an Uncle to me. From day 1 he let me know that I was important and he believed in me. Then I met my counselor Dave. Dave was another one, he had been through hell and back like myself so we related. With those 2, the therapist, the support staff and the 12 step fellowship, I began to grow into a woman who stopped hating myself and everyone else. I actually started recognizing my worth, I learned boundaries, I learn how to have relationships with my family and friends, I learned how to help others, they gave me the freedom to get a sponsor and go out and work those 12 steps like my life depended on it because it did and then get my own sponsee and help her, and now I have 9 months free from active addiction. I graduated from the program at Seacliff and now I live on my own, just 4 miles away. The team helped me make a plan so that I'm close by because my blood family lives on the East Coast. My Seacliff family is just a quick ride away and I stay close to them, my meetings are right down the road, my sponsor is right down the road, Daryl and Dave are just a phone call away as well as the support staff. Although I graduated they are still here for me just like they were when I was in their facility. Just because you graduate doesn't mean you have to leave their family. That facility literally saved my life. They taught me how to live again. They had simple rules that I respected, they took me to meetings everyday, I attended their groups everyday, they had fun events for us, I had never been in a treatment center which had such a family setting that taught me so much about living free from active addiction at the same time. Every time I had a bad day I would run into Dave's office or Darryl's office and when I would make mountains out of mole hills they would say we can get through this this is not the end of the world and they would handle the problem. Words can't express my gratitude nor explain the benefits I've reaped from SeaCliff Treatment Center. I've been to MANY rehabs but not like this. I've been to the fanciest, I've been to the institutionalized ones... this place is the best because I nevet felt like I was actually cared about like I was here. I had the freedom to go out and adult, get my sponsor and get busy with the program after my SeaCliff Responsiblities were handled for the day. I would never go anywhere else after being here... There are so many other amazing staff members at SeaCliff and so many awesome things that go on there and I am blessed that I get yo go there and be an example for the new clients and show them that it works. God willing I never have to go to treatment again as a client. I could keep writing for days about this place! If you follow the program and the rules that SeaCliff has and get a sponsorand work the 12 steps then you can live this amazing life that I have found too!!!! Thank you guys for being super loving and caring and expecting nothing in return but respect and hard work. Another perk was that it's 3 blocks from the beach.

I was referred to California Rehab Sports Therapy by my doctor for lower back pain. Initially, I…read morewas prescribed 5 weeks of physical therapy, which I was told was covered by my insurance. At each visit, I paid my $25 copay and, for the most part, received one-on-one treatment with a physical therapist. After the initial 5 weeks, I was still experiencing some pain and decided to continue treatment. Unfortunately, the quality of care seemed to decline from there. I would sometimes see an actual physical therapist briefly at the beginning of the appointment, but then I would be passed off to an assistant and essentially work through the same exercises and movements on my own. There were times when I felt I was barely being monitored, including whether I was using proper form. The billing experience was even more frustrating. I later learned that my $25 copay did not cover everything I was being billed for. When I questioned the additional charges, especially since my appointments seemed to consist of essentially the same treatment each time, I was told the charges were based on the billing codes entered by the physical therapist. I contacted my insurance company to understand why these charges were not covered. My insurance company attempted several times to contact the billing department to clarify the charges but was unable to reach the appropriate person. Eventually, I stopped hearing anything about the balance and assumed the issue had been resolved. Now, several months later, I received a collection notice for the same balance I had been trying to resolve in the first place. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing, particularly because I made an effort to address the charges before they ever reached this point. I see that other people have had positive experiences with this location, but unfortunately, mine was not one of them. Between the decline in the quality and attentiveness of the treatment and the way the billing issue was handled, I would not recommend this location to anyone I know. I'm sharing my experience so others know to pay close attention to both the level of care they are receiving and exactly what is being billed to their insurance.

*PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE LOVED ONES UNATTENDED HERE*…read more I was at the MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center Emergency Room for most of the day 5am-11am 8/30/2026 with my partner. Because his condition was stable, I eventually left to get some rest. I deeply regret it. I should have cramped up on the small chair in his room or even slept on the floor, because what happened overnight would have never occurred if I had been there to advocate for him. My partner was transferred to a new ER room at 1:00 AM, and absolutely no one bothered to establish patient care. He was left completely without a call button, and it was not until 7:00 AM, a full six hours later, that someone finally came in to introduce themselves. He was suffering from a debilitating headache, extreme dizziness, and was strictly ordered not to get out of bed on his own. Unable to physically advocate for himself, he was forced to hold his bladder for hours in the dark, only managing to use the restroom once by flagging down a random passing nurse. That is no way to treat a vulnerable human being. When I called Patient Relations to report this severe safety hazard, the representative had the audacity to excuse the negligence by stating the emergency room is "impacted." Do not excuse bad behavior. Apologize and strive to do better. Well, duh, it is an emergency room; being busy is the baseline. Your response should not be to shrug and say your staff is struggling. Your response should be to staff more people and provide the necessary resources, at least remorseful, not sassy. Patients come here in their most vulnerable times, and this hospital should be equipped to handle it. I am back here on Monday, and the place looks like a circus; plenty of weekday staff. It is wild that management refuses to staff enough nurses to ensure basic patient safety. I am absolutely heartbroken thinking of the night my partner had to endure alone and scared. I will be staying by my partners side for the remainder of his stay to ensure basic care, like using the restroom is provided. Please do better.
