Beginnings Treatment Center is a grossly misrepresented SCAM. They have beautiful facilities and nice people. HOWEVER, being nice doesn't not mean you are good at your job. The cost mesa location has awful programming structure. Nothing but packets and youtube videos that don't help with true recovery. As a woman I have been sexually hit-on by the case managers and when I asked for help, upper-management did nothing.
They claim to have "chefs" that prepare you meals each day and let me be the first to state that
a) they don't consider dietary needs or personal hygiene
--the food is brought in trays without utensils and is usually left open without any consideration to germs and sanitation. Meat and dairy-based items are left for hours without any oversight. Then when finally attended to, its stuffed in ziplock backs.(since no saran wrap or aluminum foil is present in the house) ..and shoved into a fridge to later consumption.
There is often NO FOOD left for residents because the staff is too busy grabbing plates and picking through the food. They say their standard is to make portions for each resident in the house so no one is left out..but that RARELY happens. And by rarely. I MEAN NEVER.
b) Their staff is all-over-the-place and has ABSOLUTELY NO ACCOUNTABILITY
--they promise to take clients out for "outings" but once again that RARELY EVER HAPPENS.. so imagine being stuck inside a poorly managed house for your entire stay.
--the staff is incredibly irresponsible and inconsistent with their obligations to clients. Clients are often left at the house or forgotten unless you are constantly in their face.
c) HYGIENE!! Lets start with your DAILY HOUSING that does not have adequate cleaning products like SOAP, WASHCLOTHS, LYSOL, DISINFECTANT, etc.
--they have a huge ant problem and also gnats. which is worse seeing how often they serve and leave your food in the open.
---they wash your clothes when you first get in and dont put it past them to damage shirts and other items with their negligence, as though its a chore to separate light and dark loads
--the beds you sleep on are twin-sized cots and the larger beds have part of the frame breaking off of it
--clients that are sick or going through withdrawl symptoms are free to go about the house sleeping on the public couches and sweating, coughing, etc on the common furniture you share daily, I HAVE BEEN SICK TWICE since being here. Clients with LICE and colds are not managed at all, and forget about any covid testing methods AT ALL.
--They allow clients to switch rooms(without sanitizing or cleaning them before someone new is there)..disgusting! Unless you prefer to lay in the sweat of a client withdrawing
-- The couches and furniture is dusty and unkept which will most certainly trigger allergens, so bring your own Claritin.
d) The SC house which after (30 days you are transferred to for PHP) has RATS!! No figuratively, No LITERALLY RATS living in the lawn furniture in the front and also allows pets(service-animals etc.) to roam freely around while open trays or food are available for your consumption....(yummy! Pet hair and dander in your AA Hors d'oeuvres.)
--------------{If you are still reading ...trust, it gets worse}
Upon being admitted they take your credit cards, ids, PHONE, and wallet and all personal belonging and only allow outside communication after the first week of being there.! If you leave before the program time you agreed on THEY KEEP YOUR BELONGINGS 72hours after you leave the facility...meaning even if you leave and want to book a flight or hotel, you cannot for 3 days so you are instantly HOMELESS with no identification and way of getting home..They will assist in NO WAY for you to leave the program..not even a ride to the nearest train station...so out-of-towners BEWARE
They will recruit you to the facility with false promises of great food, programming, and care..which truly is a joke.. For those who endorse this program, SHAME ON YOU. You can expect to get 12% Addiction programming, and 96% Netflix time. There are no activities to do while in the house but board games and Jenga blocks that are outside. Their "gym" for you to "workout" with is merely 1 treadmill, 1 cycling bike, and 1 cable-cross-over machine. trash
--Residents take food from each other houses because their COSTCO stocking runs case managers go on are often mismanaged where more food will be in one house rather than another. Their excuse to this was.." Please have some grace because residents coming off drugs didnt each much in their addiction do when their detoxed-bodies are finally able to eat, they tend to eat more of their share - and its hard to gauge what to stock and what not to ..as all clients are different.
TRUST ME, GO SOMEWHERE BETTER. You deserve to focus on your recovery and getting better rather than these ridiculous issues brought on from ill-advised and and oblivious staff. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED1s here. read more
