I called up to ask details about where he went and the person on the phone claims to not know. A proactive email letting me know Nestor is no longer employed would have been appreciated, rather than act like the guy never existed. I understand people move on, but a barber is sort of a personal experience and when you settle into a guy who knows how to do it great, it sucks trying to find someone new and start from scratch.

Yesterday I went online to book another appointment with Nestor and to my surprise he was no longer listed on their website. Although the shop has my email address I received no notification. Very disappointing

Hi, I have been with having Natalie cut my hair she started in Lake Forest, probably 12 years ago…read more They are a real family and all the barbers/stylists are very friendly. The most impressive part of the operation is the customer service. They do it all and get to know their customers. This of course helps keep the price of a hair cut reasonable. Got to like that. There really is no other reason to go somewhere else. The best part is my stylist Natalie, since I am a long time customer will accommodate my schedule, even it winds up making her the only person in the store. Real customer service! From a long time Lake Forest Resident.

Sergei was inconsiderate, rude and careless. He took his time answering a call on his cellphone…read moreafter he started my haircut, he had me wait without saying excuse me or acknowledging it afterwards either. He then acted very unpleasant after I asked if he could use his cellphone to lookup a photo of a hairstyle I wanted. Then after that, he didn't even come close to giving me the haircut I showed him. It was obvious, he intentionally provided very poor attention to my request which was fairly simple. The female at the register with blonde hair had a very poor unpleasant bedside manor also. It was a very unwelcoming and less than satisfactory experience all around.

Comfy seats, free adult beverages while you sit, and hands down - And I mean it - the best haircut I've ever had. I don't want to tell you who gives the best haircut because she's always so busy and it's hard to get an appointment - but she deserves all the praise. So if you got get Masha. They're all fantastic but Masha can do a fade and a straight razor shave like she grew up in downtown Chicago. She makes me so damn handsome. Also, her sister Natasha works here too and she does an incredible pedicure. It's the perfect balance between luxury and price. I won't go anywhere else in the Northshore again.

I really loved this place for a long time. Especially when I had Lilia as my stylist. She left and…read moreI had my hair cut by Judith, the owner, in February. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I had talked to her before the appointment because I had a special occasion coming up and wanted my cut freshened up. I left the salon with something I absolutely did not want and was so upset. I called to tell Judith how I felt and was met with a cold unconcerned response. I thought I would never go back, but this spring Lilia came back, and I booked as soon as I could. My appointment was scheduled, although pretty far ahead as she was busy. I even put a deposit to hold it. Today I realized that my appointment was scheduled for tomorrow and I had not heard anything from the salon. I called to confirm and found out that again Lilia is not working. This time nobody bothered to call and tell me that my appointment had been cancelled nor offer me any alternative. If you cancel with them less that 24 hours, they charge a sizeable fee but seem to not give the same courtesy to their clients. I do not recommend this place. The stylists are good, but the owner has a big chip on her shoulder and has some questionable business practices. I contemplated not writing this updated review but changed my mind after this most recent incident. Consumers should be aware. Very disappointed.
