Overhyped, oversalted, terrible diner food where everything goes wrong so many times in a row that you may be left staring blankly at a manager, with him staring blankly back at you, with nothing left to say about the very long list of mistakes and careless errors that went wrong with your meal that they somehow managed to string together all in the same 20 minutes. Usually have great experiences here, and I come quite often. Staff is attentive and the food is typically spot on. One time there was a piece of broken plate in my salad and not only did they comp my meal they gave me a certificate to comp my next one. That's customer service! read more

We had went to a con in Waldorf and we stopped at this diner. Of course nothing can beat new york diners to me. But I am giving this restaurant 5 stars because I did enjoy the food way more then any out if state diner. And the waiter I wish I could remember his name was amazing. The con is in this town every year and I'm telling people that should be our meet up diner. read more

When I first started coming here I thought the food was pretty tasty for lower price with decent service. Over the last year it started to decline. The food taste extra processed to me and they seem to nickel and dime their way into higher tabs. This has basically caused me to take my business for breakfast to Cracker Barrel a company that I don't really like but whose food is good. Sliver Diner has been my wife and I's go to spot for about a year. We have been roughly 12 times and I have tried many items on the menu. Each time we have been greeted and served by the friendly staff. My wife loves the burgers and I'm a huge fan of the fish and chips and the lamb burger. Our favorite dessert is the bread pudding. We have ordered to go a couple of times but the food wasn't the same. Now we only dine in. I highly recommend this place if you're in the Waldorf area. read more

My wife and I stopped by on Wednesday, September 19, at approx 4:50 pm. After waiting in line behind another family for about five minutes with the restaurant only with a few people inside ... I asked for the purpose of the wait. I was told not enough waiters had come for duty but they were expecting them. I asked to be seated at a table until someone comes and was denied. PLEASE, if the managers and waiters don't know how to handle such situations ... please contact me and I can offer some very good advice that will keep the customers coming and the restaurant happy. Service was really lacking! Went for breakfast (2 people) and sat over 20 min before server showed up to say she didn't know we were her table. We ordered breakfast and coffee was brought 10 min later, food arrived 15ish min later and parts of the order was missing and one was totally wrong. So one ate while the other waited. Then after we finished we waited another 20 or so to get our check. Breakfast just shouldn't take over 90 min to complete. read more

They have great food, I like my food hot I have been there 3 times with my family from New Jersey us from Raleigh nc, we stay at the residence inn marriott inn, the manager takes great pride in his service, I find the servers at best they have few that take their jobs serious, Long waits cold food, which was served at a reasonable time would be great. I feel if they realize their job is on the line and their aren't many jobs out their think about going to a hamburger joint see how that pays. read more

This was our first visit. After taking our drink and lunch orders our waiter disappeared until well after the food arrived. This took about 30 minutes. While I got my chocolate malted quickly from different floor staff, my wife still had not received her soft drink when the floor manager arrived with our food. My rueben and her lamb burger were both liquid soaked on the bottom. The breads disintegrated onto a gooey mess on our fingers. They could not be picked up eaten as sandwiches. My wife said the burger was good but she had to eat it with a knife and fork. The corned beef on my reuben was deli meat with little flavor. We'll not be back. read more

On Fridays, I don't cook and my husband will usually bring dinner home. We hadn't been to Silver Diner in a while, so we decided to get a carryout order. I had a taste for liver and onions w/ gravy. My husband ordered the free range turkey. When I opened my food, it wasn't the most appetizing looking...sorry I didn't take a pic. I substituted my sides from mashed potatoes and veggies to spinach & rice as that is how my mom made it. To my dismay, there was NO gravy on the liver. Who cooks liver & onions w/o gravy!? I called back to the restaurant to complain & was told that the gray is usually put on the potatoes and since I substituted the mashed potatoes for the rice, the gravy was put on the rice (of which I didn't see). The rice was mixed with corn and if there was any gravy on it, I couldn't tell. The amount of spinach I got could have all fit on a tablespoon. I couldn't eat the liver without gravy and substituted gravy for golden mushroom. Once the tasted the liver...it tasted old or like it had been cooked on a dirty grill. I could barely eat it. I was extremely disappointed in Silver Diner as this is one of my favorite places to eat. I likely won't order take out again, but if I do, I certainly won't order the liver! read more

Decent food, but on THREE separate occasions left due to not being helped after seated for at least 10-15 minutes....when it was dead.

There was trash left on our table from the previous group at our table, we pointed it out and they ignored it, our food came out before our appetizers, everything was dry from sitting under the heat lamps. sandwiches were either soggy or stale from sitting for so long. And after we complained to the manager, our server went AWOL. We were given no discounts and just given free food vouchers for the next time, yeah, that's not ever going to happen. read more

Service can be a bit slow at times and a few of the waiters/waitresses I have had in the few times I have been, have been very forgetful and I have had to remind them about requested items. Just had THE BEST belgiun waffle from Silver Diner! They sprinkled some kind of cinnamon/sugar mix on top of the waffle...it was divine!!! The line was out the door when we got there but I'm so glad that we waited. The line moved pretty fast thankfully. Our waitress Aaliyah was fantastic! Prices here are super affordable and they give you plenty of food. If you go please try the peach lemonade...its WONDERFUL!!!!! Silver Diner is new to the Waldorf/ Charles county area and this location opened up early last year I believe. I had been dying to come here for breakfast and finally got the opportunity today. The menu will overwhelm you at first..there's just so much good stuff to choose from! They also have a sit down bar at this location that serves beer and wine. Im so glad that popular restaurants are finally starting to cater to the Charles County area. Now if we could only get a Cheesecake Factory.......a girl can dream !! read more

Nothing too outrageously exciting. Same as most of the other Silver Diners. Stays clean. Usually do not get a welcome but always a good bye. The waitstaff seems to have a little too much fun within themselves forgetting much about the patrons. The general manager (I presume) I always see when I visit and is always checking on the visitors, very friendly. I continue going so can't complain at all. read more

Wow, Waldorf really got an awesome Silver Dinner built. I am so use to going to the SD's in VA however this one has a full service bar that serves everything from your morning mimosas to shots of patron at happy hour. Their specialty drinks like the Grandma's Lemonade and this Bourbon n' Peach shake is delicious. This dinner will have a menu that will surprise those who think it's an average burger joint with all day breakfast. Once you go to SD you will never go to an I-Hop or disgusting Denny's again because the freshness and original twist on American classics sets a high bar of perfection. Yes, crab cakes from a dinner is off the hook. The Bison Ranchero Huevnors or whatever it's called keeps me coming back for more! Caramel Crunch French toast OMG! Service is excellent too! Angela is the best waitress ever and makes us feel like we are visiting family. Though this place is always crowded you can just go right to the breakfast bar and seat yourself. Boom! read more

Came back and this past visit was awesome. I learned not to order the mint shake because it never comes out right unless a manager makes it for me after sending it back 3-4 times. Just don't order that one if you want a thick shake. The Burger I had was OUT of this WORLD. LOVED it. I don't know how I ate it that fast. It was soooo good. I will be going back for that burger alone. Build your own- beef, over-easy egg, feta, garlic spinach(get it as a side and put it on the burger), mayo, jalapenos. Do it. Ate here while in MD for a wedding. I love that most everything is local sourced/organic. We didn't know that when we came in, so it was a nice surprised. Turkey chili was excellent .
