Silver Creek Outfitters, a tradition in the Wood River Valley for more than 45 years, evolved from a small fly shop to the highly respected retailer and outfitter it is today. By providing the best guides in the business, a highly knowledgeable retail staff and the finest gear in the industry, the store creates lifelong memories for fishermen of all abilities and offers an unparalleled customer experience.
Meet the Business Owner: Terry R.
Silver Creek Outfitters' Terry Ring was, in his 20s, a self-described "fabulous fishing guide."
"I love to explain things, to teach," said Terry. So, for this Idaho native, guiding and sharing his passion and knowledge of fly-fishing was a great job: a job that turned into a lifelong vocation.
Hard work enabled Terry to become the sole owner of Silver Creek Outfitters in 1989, where he began to enrich and broaden what was offered in most outdoors stores. His vision helped to create one of the first destination shops, a storefront that sold a whole lifestyle, not just sporting goods. Moving from Carhartt into cashmere, the modern Silver Creek Outfitters was born.
Today's Silver Creek Outfitters welcomes everyone from the novice fly fisherman, the lifelong hunter and visitors or locals alike searching for just the right sweater or accessory.
"We invite people in our home here," said Terry. "We continuously strive to provide the highest level of service possible!"
