The bakery itself is super small and just has a glass case filled with pies, tarts, quiches and other goodies. The owner Dar was the one who was working behind the counter. There is no words the describe her besides the crankiest person I have ever met. I asked her if all the food was made here and the look she gave me could kill then I decided that I would ask her which pie she recommends to which she replied with whatever pie you want to eat. We left with butter tarts, pie and meat pies. And all of it was amazing! I don't care if she was a miserable person she makes some amazing butter tarts and none that we've tried can compare to hers at all. We will be back soon for the butter tarts!

The staff is super friendly and I appreciate the loyalty cards for coffee and bread. The bakery itself is small but so quaint being in an old historical house. If you haven't tried With the Grain, you're missing out on a Guelph experience.

I…read moredon't usually go to downtown Kitchener very often and this trip totally did not disappoint. Environment: The cafe is located a little bit west of the Charles Terminal, probably around 20mins walk, but the 7 bus stop is right in front of the store. I immediately saw the array of cakes and other bakery items upon walking in the door. The atmosphere at the bakery was great, suitable for sitting down and grabbing some coffee and treats with friends. There doesn't seem to be many students visiting due to the distance from schools, so it's more of a local favourite. Food: I got their signature Tiramisu, which was $3.10, pretty decent price in my opinion. My friend got the cheesecake which I believe was $3.50. The portions of the cakes were pretty big too. The Tiramisu definitely lived up to my expectation, and I especially loved how smooth and flavourful the mousse part was. Would definitely come back again for their Tiramisu and maybe next time I will try out their Portugese egg tarts as well!

I think this Baskin Robbins in particular has the most flavours; there's close to thirty flavours and they offer drinks and soft serve as well. In addition, Baskin Robbins offers a new flavour every once in a while. Overall the ice cream is average quality, with a lot of ingredients, for instance, cookies and creme has a lot of cookies in it. I think the overall price is alright for icecream, slightly on the expensive side for average ice cream. It was around $3 to $4 for a kid's cone. There's not too many seats in this Baskin Robbins, only two small round tables with four chairs. The interior design was average.

They no longer have my favorite dessert which was the crispy crunch layered dessert of Belgian chocolate, Rice Krispies, and marshmallows. I had this waffle dessert with melted marshmallows, and the cheezy fries. The cheezy fries didn't taste good. Kind of bland and almost a little bit bitter for some reason. (It was regular Cavendish crispy coated type fries with some type of cheese drizzle and very few chopped green onions on top) For the waffle with melted marshmallows on top, the waffles were thick and had a soft yet dense texture that kind of got stuck in your mouth and made it hard to eat. And the marshmallows were barely melted on top at all and it very little chocolate drizzle. I wouldn't recommend it. I don't think I would eat here again unless it was pure desserts like cakes, gelatos, fondue etc. Its still all halal.
