We were previously dealing with another insurance agency who held our homeowners and I had some questions. I repeatedly contacted our agent over the course of 2 months (yes you read that correctly - 2 MONTHS!!!) however we never received even one response! Becoming increasingly frustrated, I decided to look into other options and came across New Generation and Carlynn. After initially speaking to her and explaining our situation, she immediately top-line assessed where we were over the phone, explained next steps and offered NG services. That gave us the confidence we needed that they would help us out. She went to work lightning fast! Carlynn had several options available to us ready to present when we met for our appointment. This is by far the most unprofessional business that i have ever had to deal with. My father has had insurance thru Michauds (now a Nationwide agency) he is no longer in the family business and now I am the one that has to deal with all aspects of the business. Our policy was coming up for renewal soon about 30 days or so. I received a call from an agent named Maria that she would be in charge of my renewals and that she would send me over some quotes on the renewals, I have 3 items with them general liability, garage keepers, and a bond. I said great shoot them over, I received the quotes and each item had an additional fee on top of the companies premium, altogether nearly 600 dollars in fees. I called and asked about these fees, mind you i did have to call about 5 times to actually get my agent on the line finally got a call 2 days later. I asked her what those fees where and she stated that they where fees that the "company" charges, I hung up and asked around about these fees and a good friend of mine stated that they are more than likely Broker Fees added on top of the companies premium. Called her back and sure enough after a few tries she finally admitted that they where indeed broker fees. Now mind you that we have been with this agency for over 5 years and have been very loyal, I went back on our records and showed that the broker fees have nearly tripled from when we first started. I asked if they could be lowered and she said oh no the agency set the broker fee structure and she could not do anything about it. I went into the office as a lance effort to try and maybe work something with them. And boy was i glad i did. I walked in and no one greeted me, I could hear a lady in the office next door talking to another agent about his commissions and that he owed her money on his paycheck and so on and so on. I finally get greeted and the woman that helped me had red streaks on her hair, and visible tattoos along with what i thought was appropriate attire, she points as Maria as the agent and boy was I thrown back. Flip flops and very unprofessional attire. At that point i said forget this and I left, I saw just how unprofessional this company was and i decided to go elsewhere. I ended up going to KIA insurance and what a world of difference. I was not charged a single dollar on Broker Fees since the agent wanted my business and charged only premiums to the company. The policy was cheaper and better coverage. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company like the plague.
