I do not recommend using this company the owner John is very unprofessional. The job was supposed to last weeks and took months with several no shows. My wife and I had John and JD come to paint our entire home and do minor repairs. They were to do sheetrock repairs, Paint Ceilings, Paint Walls, Paint Trim, and Paint Closets throughout. We had high hopes as we have many personal friends who have had great experiences. However, this was not the case in our home. The drywall repairs are not smooth and you can visibly see that they are uneven. When asked about it, we were told just remove that from the bill... not an acceptable response considering that now I will have to hire someone else to correct the issue and then repaint the area. I even offered to smooth the surface and prep the area and allow them to repaint it and they declined. They did zero prep to our trim prior to applying the paint and the paint failed immediately. It looks terrible, is orange peeled, and gloppy looking. Worse than the appearance is that it comes off with painters tape if you press it to the surface and remove the tape immediately. It comes off in sheets on the tape. The can of paint provided by them specifically states that "glossy surfaces must be sanded dull". It is painting 101 to prep surfaces prior to applying paint. Now that they applied the paint incorrectly, they are wanting to apply primer over the paint that has failed and then repaint after "lightly sanding" the primer says that it must be applied on a sound surface. What we have is not a sound surface. Sherwin Williams Reps have told us directly that paint will fail at the weakest link so not prepping again will not fix the problem they created. My wife and I have been living in our camper for 2 months because our entire house is taken apart to have this huge project completed. When we told them of the issue, we were told it would be 5 to 6 weeks before they could come back to fix the paint failure caused by their negligence. We spent 4 hours cleaning and scraping paint splatter off of our hard wood floors because they didn't adequately protect our home and our things while they painted. It was just 1 room that we have cleaned in our 3600 ft2 home. Who knows how long it will take to clean the remaining rooms as we try to put things back together. John and JD refuse to correct the mistake that they made by the incorrect application of the paint even though it was their negligence that caused the issue. I would expect that when John and JD started their business that they did an excellent job. However, from our experience, they are not good painters and I would not call them to do work again in the future. Silent Service Paint painted the over half of the interior walls and ceilings in my home. I couldn't be happier with the professionalism and quality of the work. The ceilings are very high and some of the work involved a staircase. The team came in and quietly went about their assigned tasks. We are beyond delighted with the work and the gentle nature of the crew. I will certainly be using Silent Service for more paint projects around my home. read more
