The piercing was practically painless for me and it looks amazing! Since I was a minor, they checked both my license and my mom's license, which I was happy about since that just accentuated their professionalism. He also was very open to any changes and tweaks that I wanted incorporated. The session took about 6.5 hours and John made sure we took a decent amount of breaks. He was very meticulous and overall, I was extremely satisfied with the completed art piece. The tattoo shop was also very clean and everyone was professional and very friendly. 10/10 and I will definitely be going back for more work!

On the way we passed by Dragonland Tattoo and decided to walk in and see what it's like. As soon as we walked in you could tell it was a reputable shop. The wall was covered in Best Of and NTA awards. I've been wanting to get a star tattoo for a few years now and was surprised to find that they could get me in pretty much right away, so I figured what the heck let's do it! I got a quarter size outline of a star on my right wrist and it took all of 30 minutes from when we walked in just to check it out to walking out with my tat exactly how I had imagined :) My niece's boyfriend got a rose tattoo on his forearm and was able to get in right after me. Our artist Dustin was awesome and eased my tattoo anxiety, making my experience go much more smoothly than my overthinking brain expected. I would encourage an appointment and consultation for most tattoos as we got small, simple ones that didn't really require one. I will definitely be back if I work up the courage to start the sleeve tattoo I've been thinking about getting. I would highly recommend Dragonland Tattoo, 5 stars from us!!!

My experience with her and my tattoo was amazing, despite a few problems on my end. If you're going to get your first tattoo I recommend a few things: tell someone that you're getting it (I told nobody, not my friends or family which made my anxiety skyrocket), and eat something with s u g a r before you go in. I ate a plain bagel and scrambled eggs which did not cut it for me. Within minutes I (to my embarrassment) went into shock and passed out (partly due to my anxiety and partly due to the "omfg I'm actually doing this)- Jess and the other worker there were super kind about it they gave me a glucose tablet and energy drinks and coffee and water. Probably something else too food-wise to help me feel better, which was absolutely amazing and I so so SO appreciated it. I could take a break as needed and Jess was super understanding. Next time I go back I'll be sure to have something to keep my blood sugar up before going in. Amazing customer experience on their end, I was able to finish my tattoo which took about 3.5hrs and the cost was not as much as I anticipated so I felt like it was an amazing price- especially since I unexpectedly got their energy drinks (can I like bring some for you guys next time as repayment? Lol but actually though...). As a broke college student I probably won't get another for awhile but when I choose to, I'll definitely be going back.

Upon entering the shop, you will come upon a super comfy waiting area replete with couches, chairs, books, and a small cooler of beverages....all the things to occupy your mind if you are a nervous first-timer. If I were in this neighborhood, I would consider just hanging out to relax and ready, but that might be a little creepy :) One thing that would make me come back here for future work is that when I walked in, I saw the No ICE sign, and, more importantly, at the entrance, I saw multitudes of groceries being collected to assist those affected by ICE activities. I also noticed a stack of notices that one could take and distribute to teach those about their civil rights. I love and respect a business that commits to and invests in its community, and, on this observation alone, they would have my support. The circumstances that brought me here were that after my initial session with Chris Spiegel at Ink Sanctum, I was notified that Chris had departed. I reached out to Chris to find out where he was heading so he could finish the work, and he mentioned that he is currently hanging his hat at Aurora for now. I don't know if that will be a permanent gig, but this business is a great place to land. Spending 3 hours in the chair, conversations go all over the board, and one thing I would mention: the other artists who were there were super friendly and engaging, and made me feel comfortable and safe. If you are looking for your first tattoo, a touch-up, or a consultation for something new, there is someone here who can make your idea come to life on your skin. If you want to spend your time and money on a business that is invested in their community, then this should be the first place you should consider.
