They make a point to carry items almost entirely made in the USA, many of which they have been stocking for many, many years. They also have design resources to help customers make design decisions (at no charge) as well which we found helpful. I have been to other "big chain" stores and always find I can't get exactly what I want, or I can only get it at a price twice what I want to pay. Small family owned businesses like this one stay in business (in this case for a couple generations) in large part because they have a core of loyal customers who have been happy with them in the past and keep coming back - which we fall into that category. I would order again from them with confidence, in fact, I just did! While I'm sorry to read the other hugely negative review, sorry for that customer's reported experience, it cannot be further from ours. Give them a try and judge for yourself.

On our way back out of town I saw Brandenberry and asked my husband to turn the car around. Well SO glad we did. So we did not wait and bought it on the spot (was afraid it'd be gone if I waiting until after the holidays). I just wish I had needed my whole house refurnished :) I also want to note when the furniture was delivered there was a tiny hole on a part of the sofa. The team was fantastic to work with and decided to replace the back instead of repairing. The newly made back was delivered yesterday. Trust me, you do not find customer service like this anymore. Our headboard had a complicated resin pattern that had been completely chipped off along the bottom sides, and our sofa table had a deep scratch and some chips. Yes, you will…read morehave to dig through some crap to find what you are looking for, but that's what thrifting is all about! There are two things I particularly love about St. Vincent's: 1) There is a huge room full of furniture. Some of it is on par with what you will find at Finder's Keepers, but it is far less expensive. 2) They will go to great lengths to help you load it into your car. This was kind of annoying for me, but I think for most people it would be a plus. Let me explain... So, I have above average spatial perception, and I just KNEW that the table, 2 chairs, and child's rocking chair I had purchased would all fit in the 2-door Chrysler Sebring I was driving. The guy who loads the furniture was far less optimistic. I began to have second thoughts, but when offered to take the legs off the table for me, I was reassured. I am certain that if he would have let me load it myself I would have had it in the car within 5 minutes. Instead, he and another guy spent about 20-30 minutes trying various strategies to get it all into the car. Finally, they went with the configuration I had suggested in the first place, and I was on my way! Although, I was a bit annoyed that they wouldn't listened to me, I was extremely impressed with their willingness to work so hard to save me multiple trips :) This is now my go-to thrift store.

It has…read moretwo floors , with the lower floor mostly for clothes, furniture, and toys and jewelry...the second floor has a ton of used books, odd records, and dishware. What makes this thrift store standout to me than the usual, are lots of vintage reference and schooling books. Not sure if these books were here a long time or just recently added. If I was still doing vintage collages, it would have been a goldmine to me. Regardless if they are still there or not, it is a thrift store to go put on your bookmarks to check out.
