Each time I entered the store, as it required a few visits before I could make a decision, the salesperson was very patient and helpful. I have since returned and ordered more furniture. The entire process was very professional. Each staff member I interacted with was very professional and helpful. I highly recommend this store. They do not claim to have the lowest prices, however, for the value, it is well worth it in quality and excellent sales process, including the delivery team. The one we received, according to the law label, had been manufactured more than a year prior and was labeled as a floor model. It also had a heavy fragrance that transferred onto bedding and clothing. This was not the rubbery, chemical off-gassing you sometimes get with new memory foam; it was more like a scented cleaning product. Everyone has different tastes and tolerance levels for fragrance, but I couldn't take it. The store did not admit error but offered to replace the mattress. By this time we had lost confidence in American Mattress and only wanted a refund. As it turns out, they don't give refunds. They were not even willing to refund us the difference if we returned it for a less expensive mattress. Had we bought our mattress through Tempur-Pedic's website or one of its flagship stores (the nearest one is in Indianapolis), the Tempur-Pedic warranty could have applied. But since we bought it from a third-party retailer, Tempur-Pedic deferred to the retailer. Expensive lesson learned: If you're shopping for a Tempur-pedic in Fort Wayne, know the retailer's return policies before you buy. (Hint: Skip American Mattress and visit Mattress Firm, especially the Dupont Road location, instead.) You'll sleep better.

As I spoke to the sales person at American Mattress and telling him about the brands we had looked at, he asked about the Tempur-Pedic mattress we were interested in. When I told him which one, he responded "no you didn't. I'm not calling you a liar." That's literally what he did. Even if I had the wrong firmness level, this is no way to treat a potential customer. Needless to say, I left and will not be purchasing a mattress here.

Many years ago, she bought two mercury glass lamps at a Kirklands in Miami, which she adored. Sadly, one broke, and we were hoping to find two new Mercury Lamps for my mom. Sadly, we did not find a lamp my mom liked, but we found plenty other things while here! The store was full of halloween and fall decor. While here we bought several 3 wick candles that were on sale, and I bought a cool looking calendar for my office, we also got some drawer scented satchels. They have software that places your pieces, rugs, tvs, pictures in your virtual rooms so you can see how they fit and look. And so started years of me shopping at Hallmark stores to buy gifts for loved ones, whether they were family or friends. I was waiting to talk to a manager at the Best Buy store nearby and decided to kill sometime by exploring this Hallmark store. Like most Hallmark stores it is full of various greeting cards, gifts and home accessories one could buy. I looked around the store and saw several hilarious signs you could put in your house for decorations.. ironically one was about toilet paper and another one was on how nurses were superheroes. This was weeks before the covid situation was discovered and so I realize it was almost prophetic in what was to come. The store also had some beautiful wind chimes for sale. If you love tea, you should also come here. They have tea sets and accessories that you will absolutely love! Only thing I wish this store had was that it would sell gourmet chocolate like the one I used to go to in Palmetto Bay, Florida.
