We went to Signature Palace the other night with family to try their Hot Pot experience. It's really nice to sit in a group at a round table with each person with their own hotpot burner station . It has the settings of low , medium or high into the table top . You order the type of broth to use and then pick your types of meat to cook . It's really good tasty tender beef , lamb , pork etc rolled up like you get in Vietnamese soups . The 2 hour limit for dining starts when they bring out your broth in cooking pots per person . The assorted wall in the restaurant has all kinds of things to try ... while fresh prawns , mini chunks fish fillet , winter melon , lotus slices , lots of green veggies , broccoli , bamboo shoots , glass noodles , udon noodles , fish balls , and many choices . The beef and pork meats are brought out by the waiter to your table . Probably so people can't mix up the meats if at the buffet area . And a separate area that also serves cooked starter food while you wait for your pots of broth to arrive . It has crispy spring rolls , tasty mini ribs, shrimp chips , S&S pork belly chunks , sesame balls , mini buns with condense milk , canned peaches & fresh sliced sweet oranges etc . Another station has various items to make your own dip sauces ... cilantro , green onions , garlic , chili oils , hoisin sauce , tahini sauce , ginger , etc We really enjoyed the experience and I would do this again . They let you order separate dishes off a menu if one of you don't want to do hot pot. You just cannot eat or share food from those eating from the hot pot buffet... So nice we have a tasty Chinese food restaurant in our area and a hot pot option . We will be back & bring our friends to try this .. read more

Like most Chinese restaurants, the hole-in-the wall restaurants are always the best. It may not look very impressive from the outside, but the quality of food is outstanding. I noticed a lot of people picking up orders to-go, so at least give that a try if you're not particularly impressed by the dining environment. This was one of the best meals I had during my time in Calgary. - Soy sauce chicken: A lot of whole chickens I've eaten have been super dry, but this was not the case at all. It was really flavorful, especially when dipping it in the ginger/oil. - Shrimp triple delight: Fried shrimp with eggplant, green peppers, and tofu. There was so much shrimp, and the shrimp paired with tofu was my personal favorite because the tofu was extremely crispy. The green peppers had a nice crunch, and the eggplant was tasty too. - Crab, egg white, and shrimp on broccoli: This was one of my favorite dishes because I love every part of this dish! The egg white does a great job bringing in the crab meat and shrimp together, and there was a lot of seafood. The broccoli soaked up all the extra sauce, and was cooked well- still had a nice crunch but wasn't half raw. - Live crab and lobster on ginger fried rice: Such an impressive display! This dish was loaded with crab and lobster, SO good! The ginger fried rice paired nicely with the seafood. - Peking duck: You can never ever go wrong with peking duck. The duck was thinly sliced and so crispy. Wrap it up with a little bit of hoisin and it tasted heavenly. This restaurant is located in a strip mall and to be honest, does not have the most impressive exterior or interior... but the food certainly makes up for it. The staff members were all very polite, and you can tell they work hard to keep this restaurant going. Support a local business and try this place out! read more

A zero star review would be better, if possible. The quality has gone SOOO far downhill since new ownership, it's shocking. Sat for 45 minutes this morning - only to be told that they actually didn't have any of the food we ordered. A complete waste of time. Although, given the food they served us last time, I suppose we were saved from that. Most certainly would NOT recommend, in no uncertain terms. Service is horrible. Food almost as bad. read more

Went in person to restaurant to order a delivery of dinner for 5:15 (friends visiting & 2 kids) 5:30... no food, called, said should be there in 10 minutes 5:45... no food, called, said should be there in 10 minutes 6:00... no food, called, said should be there in 10 minutes 6:15 ... no food, called, after many many rings before picking up phone 6:30...no food, called, didn't pick up phone at all. Drove to restaurant thinking of picking up the food myself, then finally after more than an hour later, food arrived 6:35.Got a call from wife & drove back home. This is so ridiculous & unacceptable business practice. Will never order from this restaurant again & will not eat there either! read more

Ginger beef was bitter. Dry ribs tasted off and were overly fatty. Beef chow mien noodles weren't fried and tasteless. Very disappointing overall. Won't be ordering from here again. read more

Wow. So much to criticize. The decor was dark and dreary, but most importantly the rug was filthy dirty. I picked up take-out --- curried chicken. It was terrible -- I threw it out. I'd never order from here again. read more

We are so very unimpressed!! It's Christmas Eve of 2020, we ordered $100 worth of food and our Door Dash order was somehow lost in the shuffle. Rather than helping us to figure it out, the person at the front desk refused to help. She argued with us and the delivery person. We called customer service at Door Dash and they contacted Signature Palace and they hung up. So after 2 hours, we gave up and are going to try our luck somewhere else. This type of service is not good enough!! We will not return again to Signature Palace and nor should others. Door Dash on the other hand was exceptional!! Please use their service. read more

Signature Palace Restaurant was established serving authentic Chinese food like sweet and sour pork (popular menu item) in Signal Hill community before internet was invented. (which means that Yelp wasn't exist during that time.) They serve very good sweet and sour pork, fried rice and deep fried salt and pepper squid from the past and still maintain the quality standards until today. When I was in elementary childhood, my parents always ordered take outs or dine in Chinese food from them either they are lazy to cook or I only remembered craving the ice cream from ice cream truck whom drove by my house once a while as my dinner main course rather than them...... Anyways, as I recent returned to this restaurant for Mother Day's dinner, things are slightly different than I remember in childhood. Décor been renovated few times in the past, but my parents said the food and staff are remain the same (friendly and quality standards). Which I agreed with my parents, because they served fresh good food and services and they are always packed with dine in and take out orders. I guess upcoming Father Day's dinner, they will choose that location again...... Sigh! (I rather have ice cream from ice cream truck for dinner........"Correction"........ I meant dessert afterward if the ice cream truck still exist. Oh wait! We have internet now, so I can order ice cream online... just kidding. read more

All the dishes I've had here are fabulous, dahling. Their beef in black pepper sauce hot plate is AHmazing! Their salt and pepper seafood (squid, scallop and prawn) is crispy, light and perfectly salty & peppery. AHmazing! Quantities are generous. Food comes out fast. The decor and setting are clean, quiet, nice, spacious. The typical touches of beckoning cats & a fish tank are all there too (all placed to generate prosperity of course). Let them beckon you! You won't be disappointed. read more

More often than not Chinese restaurants in the SW cater to non-Chinese customers, so I was pleasantly surprised at how authentic this Chinese restaurant is. It is therefore no surprise that this place attracts a lot of people to eat here. The food is good and consistent with other authentic places in the city. Service is friendly. It's s bit loud in the restaurant even by Chinese restaurant standard, partially because of the low ceiling and hard surfaces. read more

Wow. Such amazing Christmas Eve service and even better food. Far more food than we expected and good flavours. wonderful service.

I'm very happy with this restaurant I have not had one bad serving of food at this restaurant and I have been coming here over the last couple of years now. It seems everything you order tastes very good. When you come in everyone is very welcoming and is happy to seat you at your table. The service is really good and your food almost comes out too fast which is a good thing that most Restaurants don't seem to have. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food. read more

Signature Palace - Pretty much everything we ordered - Chinese Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

This is a pretty typical Chinese joint with good food and consistency. I usually get take out and it is always unlike other Chinese places is filled with asians. I think that's a good sign. read more

S.P. is 2 blocks away from me, so I thought I'd give it a try. Ordered grilled pork and veg. dumplings, ginger chicken and their special fried rice. Grilled dumplings were hard and greasy, double deep fried maybe? Or sat out too long and fried again. Tried one and through them out. Ginger chicken, disappointing, what you would get at a shopping mall food court (lots of batter). Fried rice was good, done just right. Off night maybe, take-out? $36. wont be back. Will stick with my Favorite, Pearl Express. read more

This restaurant doesn't even deserve a star. The restaurant is dirty and whats worse, the service is horrible. The female servers are the most unfriendly, rude and impolite. Food is okay only and the servers has brought down the image of the restaurant. They are so arrogant because they are the only chinese restaurant in the area. read more

Drove there after reading positive reviews. Had the shrimp hotspot. The shrimps were boiled- maybe 6 of them in all and the sauce was a bland and tasteless white flour mix . Feeling hungry, we ordered Ginger chicken . Big mistake ! It was deep fried chicken, covered with a sweet and sticky sauce. KFC would have been a better option. read more

This is the second time I have tried this place, and so far I'm 0 for 2. I don't order anything fancy, sweet and sour chicken, ginger beef, chow mien and salt and pepper squid. The squid was okay, the rest went in the garbage. That is the last time I try this place out, I have no idea who is writing the positive reviews.... read more

We have eaten at this restaurant for 14 years. The last 5 years the food has gone downhill. Quantities are much smaller and the quality is terrible. Last night we ordered takeout and it was terrible!! Sweet & sour pork was inedible, fried rice was extremely bland, chicken & vegetables were bland and the ginger chicken was tough & chewy. read more

This place is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes it's delicious sometimes it's awful. Last night it was my mom's birthday and we ordered takeout. It was awful. Ginger chicken and Salt & Pepper chicken were obviously double or triple fried, rubbery and hard. Everything else was mushy and flavorless. Can't take the inconsistency anymore. Would rather choose a place that is consistently good than risk getting something that might be delicious or may be terrible. Won't be back. read more

The service is wonderful. The staff are very courteous and accommodating. I also found the food is better than a few years ago. The ginger beef is yummy. It's less greasy and salty . I work in the area so it's nice to have a place I can go to for a quick lunch. The new renovations also make the dining room much more appealing. read more

First, I'm a Chinese person, born in Hong Kong, but grew up in Canada since age 2. My parents grew up in Hong Kong. This is by far our favorite Chinese restaurant in Calgary, for quality and value. They have both authentic / traditional Chinese food as well as more Westernized Chinese food. The food (both authentic and Westernized) is amazing, full of taste and flavor. For example, we pre-order the soy sauce half chicken and the soy sauce with a subtle sweet taste is marinated with the chicken so it's juicy and flavorful (as opposed to dry). Much better and more value than Chinatown and places like T & T. You can order half sized dishes such as the sweet and sour pork which is light and crispy on the outside and juicy and hot/tender on the inside. Not all their items are listed in their English menu so you may have to ask for any special dishes. Their dinner also comes with a traditional Chinese soup of the day. The people are nice, sometimes a bit rushed/busy because they are busy inside and also take many delivery and pick-up orders. read more
