This was our first time in Scottsdale, so we were confused as to where we were going. This review is mainly for the waiting area and the service, where we stayed put while my dad went to go pick up our rental car, which was actually located a few buildings away. We told the people at the front desk that we had gotten a little lost and had no idea where we were going. They were super nice and pointed out where to go. Jet Aviation's waiting area is super cozy and quiet and they have a little separate lounge for pilots to hang out in. They have lounge chairs, fake plants, and other decorations that you can admire while you wait, plus you can watch planes take off and land just several feet away. The restrooms are super clean and they even have little travel size amenities that you can pick up. I picked up some mouthwash and a little shaving kit which included a small razor, though I had already packed my own razor and shaving cream. Great to have an extra pack just in case.

I said I didn't have any with me but it should be fine. He was thinking about monsoon season. He said that he needed some tie-downs and had been meaning to buy some so he said he was going to buy some, tie my aircraft down and then he'd have the tie-downs he wanted when I returned. I couldn't believe he was offering this. I went back about 3 weeks after surgery just to start it up and sure enough Carter had the aircraft completely tied-down! Amazing. I can't say enough about the people. Nancy is also amazing and cares so much. It is truly great to walk in and get the incredible welcome I get when I arrive. I love this place. She spent over 6 months at Sierra Charlie Aviation and because of their incompetence, lack of awareness and poor scheduling, I pulled my daughter out of their program and sent her to Scottsdale Executive Flight Training. She was paired up with her instructor Maddie Moles, whom I cant say enough good things about. Under Maddie's supervision and instruction, my daughter, Calie has far exceeded and excelled at this flight school. They keep you informed, aware of progress and have a plan in place to keep their students moving forward at all times. Not only was Maddie instrumental in Calie's progress, the Chief pilot and head of Cessna training, Nick Lane, went above and beyond to make sure Calie was ready to pass her check ride without issues. I ended up working with them to get the rating done. Jonathan, the head of the flight school, was the CFI I'd be working with. I'm so glad I did. He was able to teach to my learning style and we worked really well together. We met early and stayed late to get me ready for the check-ride. Coming from northern California, I booked out a week to accomplish the task. Unfortunately, the DA-42 Twin Star broke. A broken fuel injector in one of the engines made it impossible to train in the limited time frame. I had to leave and come back. On my second trip back, the night before the check-ride, I got news of a friends passing in an aviation incident. Thanks to Jonathan's prep, the following day, I was able to pass the oral portion of the check-ride with flying colors and discontinued on the flying portion. I re-booked for a return visit. Upon coming out, the aircraft had an other issue during one of our flights. Sawyer's in house mechanics both times went above and beyond to get the aircraft back in service but the parts needed to be special ordered from Europe. Being in aviation and an aircraft owner, things like this just happen no matter how well an aircraft is maintained. Throughout this process, I was able to witness a side of aviation that most don't get to see. Sawyer's maintenance team rocks and worked their butt off to make sure things are tip top. Even though I wasn't able to finish my multi-engine commercial add on at Sawyer, they did take care of me. Jonathan built a foundation for me to finish a few months later back in northern California and I earned my ratings. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Sawyer Flight academy because not only did they treat me well, they training I received was top notch.

Do yourself a favor and get your estimate in writing. I thought something was wrong when the airplane wasn't ready the day promised. I called and asked if they encountered a problem and they assured me it would be ready the next day, surprise, it wasn't - 2 days late and 12x the initial quote.. I called the manufacturer's support line and was assured the unit could be installed and configured easily within 3 hours. In a Van's Owners Forum, one individual reported an install in as low as 45 minutes. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. They had a lot of opportunities to do the right thing - e.g. realize it's not the unit quoted before the install or during any of my calls questioning the timeline; but they waited til it was done and hoped I wouldn't notice? I brought it to a manager's attention and he was very hostile and unprofessional about it. Now they don't want to rip me off, I mean, "do business" with me anymore. Sounds good - not a problem!

What I disapprove of is their willingness to help when something is wrong. I completely understand that this is their system and their devices but when something is out of the normal they tend to blame the customer rather than replace the device. I have gotten so many fails while driving them retest and it passes and they tell me that I'm doing something wrong. The device will fail if it's too cold!!! They warn you about "sitting it in the heat" during the summer months but it being too cold!? Oh and they don't tell you a fail is $50 which they are not willing to waive even if the initial blow is a fail and the next one is a pass. Or the device just stops working and malfunctions so you'll sit on the phone with technical support for hours just for them to tell you to call the office. No one at the office will return your call in a timely manner from Scottsdale and the Tempe off will put you off. I've missed work and school because of this device malfunctioning. They say things like "just bring it to the office" but what peace of mind is that when your car is 45 minutes from any office? They are supposed to have mobile techs that come out in a timely manner but that doesn't happen. And they act like sending a tech out is such an inconvenience to them when it's their devices. There needs to be better equipment or response time for issues with their devices or you'll definitely expect your livelihood to be impacted. If you can pay the lawyer extra to get you out of the interlock I highly recommend it if that is even a thing. Also be sure to call weird ssa AZDOT before scheduling your removal because you'll plan and schedule a removal just for them to tell you it's too early

I had to flag her down and ask my paper so I could leave . This on top of the fact that the music they were playing was really obnoxious and really loud so you couldn't read anything on your phone or listen to anything else. Truly a dreadful experience
