My complaint here isn't necessarily about the policies at MyPilotStore, but more about the customer service I received. I ordered a headset adapter in September, used my default shipping address, and it got to my house with no problem. I ordered another one this December and somehow didn't notice that the system somehow defaulted to an old address. I noticed this when I got the email from them that they were preparing to ship the adapter. I immediately contacted them, and they said that they couldn't change the address with USPS. I emailed back saying that "it shows that USPS doesn't even have possession of the package yet, is there any way it can be stopped, and if not, how did this happen? How did my old address become the default? I know it's on me to double check, 100%. But why would my new address be the default once and then a few months later switch back to the old address? Just trying to figure out how this happened." I received a call from a rep named Ethan. His attitude was demeaning and arrogant. There was no "I'm sorry that this happened, let me see what we can do." It was "this is 100% your fault and we won't help you, too bad." Just generally poor customer service. The icing on the cake was when I told him that I was going to try to reach out and have the people at that address do a return-to-sender, he said that they would incur a bill for that and charge it back to me, and that I should try to get in touch with them to pick it up since it was in the same city. I told him that this was likely not an option, and he snickered and said something like well that's your problem. Overall, I get it. My bad for not double checking. But has customer service really become this? Consumers do not owe it to any company to give them patronage. The same adapters that I need are available elsewhere, at a lower price, and I'll be going there from now on. read more

I had a terrible experience with this company. They sent my package with an incomplete address twice (apartment number printed off the edge of the label), despite assuring me the issue was fixed after the first time. I had to go to the post office myself to retrieve it before it got sent back again. When I called and pointed out the issue, the mypilotstore representative visually verified the label was incorrect and assured me it would be corrected. It was not corrected and the package was sent out again with the exact same issue. I verified the address is correct on my account and order form. This issue is with their label printing process which is combining address line 1 and 2 on the same line (see photo). No one from this company will take any accountability for their mistakes. I do not recommend this store at all. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere. Great Website if you are looking for some type of gift on anything airplane ish. I needed a small Southwest Airplane to go along with a SWA Gift caed for a Christmas Gift for my Grandson. I was able to find what I needed at a good price from a company located here in the USA. I also put in my order the wrong email address for my self. I sent an email and over the busy weekend after Thanksgiving they responded in less than 24 hours corrected the email and send me verification of my order. Thank goodness I checked the status of my order today (2/7) after placing an order an hour after my wheel gave out (2/3). Apparently the wheel was "in stock" when I placed my order but some time after that it was placed on back order. Gave them a few days since it was the weekend and finally sent a message off only to find out to my surprise, that it was on back order. No e-mail from them, no notification, zero heads up. God knows how long I'd have waited if I didn't say anything. Funny enough the website still shows in stock. Luckily I went with, and should have gone with, another company who has live inventory and can get the wheel to me before my next trip. At least you aren't charged before the order ships which I guess makes total sense now. The ONLY reason it isn't a one star. Update: Now they're claiming I missed a massive note under the price that says OUT OF STOCK. Uhhh... no. Don't try to tell me I missed the OUT OF STOCK note when it absolutely said IN STOCK. I went through numerous stores online before landing on yours because they all said "out of stock" so yeah, pretty certain I ordered from you all solely because it did say it was IN STOCK. First time buying from this store. I would HIGHLY recommend buying from another store. It took over a week and multiple emails to support me just to get my items shipped. I ordered some headphones, flight bags, and sectional charts. It took a week just for the headphones and flight bags to ship. First, I was asked to call them because there was an error with the payment for some reason. After the call, they said they would ship it in 3 days. Four days later, it still wasn't shipped, so I emailed them to ask why. They replied that I needed to check my credit card account and verify the amount charged, but there was no charge to my credit card. They said this was for security. When I emailed them about this, they replied saying it was being prepared for shipment, ignoring the credit card verification they had asked me to do in the previous email. I also placed another order for sectional charts on the same day. After a week, they finally shipped the headphones, but there was no update on the charts. When I asked about that order and provided the order number, they responded about the previous order instead (with the headphones). It seemed like they ignored what I was asking or didn't read the entire email. In the end, I canceled my chart order more than a week after placing the second order with no shipment. Additionally, there was a $100 discount if I bought 2 headphones (which I did), but for some reason, it was applied to my other order for the charts, resulting in an order total of about negative $82. I asked about this and still have no response about the discount or why it applied to a completely different order. This process took a lot of time and was very frustrating. I had to email them almost daily to get it resolved. While the support team responded to my emails almost daily, it didn't help much, and towards the end, they haven't been responding to my questions. Please don't make the same mistake I did and buy somewhere else. Overall, I would recommend buying from another store like Sporty's. I should've checked more reviews before buying but now that I am looking at other peoples' reviews I see the same problems. I will update this post once I get my order of the headphones, hopefully, everything is new and works as it should. I had a pathetic first experience with this store and would never go back to them. I ordered a few items including a Bose headset and sent in a price match request. When I placed the order, there was no shipping charge. Later, they denied my price match request because Bose items are excluded from price matching. Apparently, it was listed on their website and I missed that part. My bad. Fair enough. I asked them to cancel the Bose headset from the order and they did. Later, I realized they add shipping charges to the rest of my order without informing me. When I called, they told me it happened because the Bose headset was cancelled. But, I was never informed. I asked for the shipping charge to be refunded but they wouldn't. A manager called me and apparently he discussed it with their senior management and a refund for the shipping charge wasn't approved. I ordered a Travelpro Flight Crew5 Horizontal Rolling Overnight bag. I found it to be too heavy for me and apparently it is too wide to roll down the airplane aisle. This was not clear from the description of the bag. I decided to return it and was shocked that it cost almost $49.00 using either UPS or USPS. This place has a lot of negative reviews at various reseller rating sites. The majority of them seem to be related to their return policy. I was super hesitant to purchase anything from them. Took me like like 4 days to finally decide to take the risk. The only reason I did was because they were literally the ONLY place I could find online that had the book/literature kit that I needed. It was pretty risky because the kit I wanted was around $200. In any case, I placed the order and received my item on time and it was exactly as described. I never had to return anything so no experience in that area. I will also mention that I called customer service at least twice, maybe three time, to make sure they really had all the items for the particular kit that I wanted in stock. They seemed nice and were very helpful. I really couldn't find any issue with them in my personal experience with my one order. *shrug* They have such great prices and such a huge selection of products, it's a shame they don't have better reviews. My husband ordered the "Relief band" (2 of them) which advertise that they help with nausea, anxiety, headaches, dizziness, ect. He had seen them advertised on the Morocca show. - they were $250 apiece at a total of $500. He paid extra for them to be shipped quicker as they were for Christmas. He had allowed 10 days to recieve. They barely made it within 10 days, the charging cable is terrible, it is magnetic, and doesn't stay attached to the unit. We do not notice that they help with any of what they advertise they help with. We were told that since they had been opened, and that they are considered a medical unit, that they are not returnable! We even spoke with a manager at the pilot store. What a rip off!!! How would you know if you liked them or they worked if you weren't allowed to open and try them out? We are now out $500, and will never recommend the Pilot store, or the product "Relief band" to anyone. read more

When it arrived one of the packages was open. When I called to return the item, they stated that sometimes in the warehouse this happens and that the item was not damaged. My son, a student pilot in training has had the biggest issue with this company. The customer service is absolutely non-existent, they have shut down their phone lines and do not take any calls, take weeks to respond to customer service emails (if you are lucky they finally respond) and even though they sold my son a dysfunctional headset - it took over 2 months and the intervention form the actual manufacturer company to force a refund....only to be told they couldn't refund him the full amount due to a "restocking fee" and "delivery charge. First, my son picked up the headset from their store, so there was no delivery charge AND they aren't even restocking this item since it didn't work!! Watch this seller on their return policy. While they will offer "free" shipping on an outbound order, when returned, they will then deduct (from the return) the amount of shipping they originally paid. This, AFTER paying for return shipping, and in my cases, due to the expensive nature of the items, insurance as well. So not only will it cost you $40 to return an expensive leather jacket, you won't get a full refund.... While this is stated - somewhat vaguely - on their return page of their website, this is a BOGUS return policy, one that, for me, will relegate MyPilotStore to a simple source of charts and pubs. Outstanding business! I went in here back in September. They do most of their business online but I went into their warehouse with a small storefront to purchase a new headset. They were friendly and helpful, the receptionist even went to get a technician from the back to help me with the new wireless style headset! I purchased a set of the brand new Lightspeed Zulu wireless headsets. They worked ok for the first month or so, but then I started having issues, so I reached out to MyPilotStore customer service and after sending a few pictures and explanation of the issues they were happy to exchange my wireless headsets for a wired version of the same brand at no cost to me, even though I was outside the 30 day returns window!
