GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT SIGNATURE DRESSES. I was so glad to support a small, female owned business in DC. Decided to shop here for my cousin's wedding instead of in New York. HUGE HUGE MISTAKE. They are THE most disorganized, inept, incapable retailer I have ever stepped foot in. Maybe they cater to the real housewives of nowhereville...but if you have any sense at all, GO ELSEWHERE. Here's why: 1. Made an appointment in January to first try on dresses. Got really no help in the store--owner was on her cell phone on speaker phone (should've seen this as a red flag). I actually thought she was an obnoxious customer and my friend and I were very surprised she owned the shop. Not a great introduction but I figured maybe I'm just used to bigger cities so I'll give this a shot...nope. Keep reading.... 2. Returned on March 11 & tried on a lime green gown, purchased it. Paid in full. 3. Upon payment I was told that the dress would arrive--verbatim from Gilda--"way before mid April" and in time to be tailored for a wedding early May. 4. April 1st, April 5th, April 10th come and go...no phone call. Nothing. I had to call them multiple times. Got no answers. They couldn't give me a straight answer and couldn't even tell me if the dress had been produced, shipped, or anything. Literally they have not a clue what they are doing. Keep reading... 5. Called again. Was told they put the floor sample I had tried on on March 11 for me aside. No mention of where my "new" dress is (or the fact it obviously never shipped, and they never bothered to track it, follow up, or do anything at all). 6. Went into the store with my mother (full disclosure, she was the purchaser), on April 13. They give me the floor sample, which now has a stain and two pulls as shown in the photos. 7. Obviously I'm not pleased but trying to be patient. Gilda asks me if I want an emerald green dress. I say well, no, I'd like the actual dress I purchased, plus the mother of the bride is wearing emerald so that's a no. She then offers to find me a hot pink. I begrudgingly say ok, as I think it's very wise now to order it as a backup. I really didn't want pink from the very start, but I also didn't love that my only other option was a dirty dress in this condition for $650. Gilda refused a discount for the floor sample when asked. More on this later. 8. Next week comes and I hear nothing. Its now a week later and a week and change before I leave. 9. I call the store, ask where the pink dress is now...Bobbi answers and asks me what I am talking about, that she thought the green fit me fine, asked me the same question about six times, before putting me on hold for over 7 minutes. She finally comes back on the line and (SHOCKER HERE GUYS) says she doesn't know where the pink dress is. This pink dress!!! 10. Bobbi calls back saying the pink dress will be in "tomorrow" or AFTER TOMORROW. I mean... what is happening anymore. I no longer have any faith in these people. This is pathetic! 11. I slept on it and made the decision to go to the store on April 20 and pick up the dress as shown in these pictures. I now had 5 business days to get the dress tailored. I had paid in full, had also bought two other backups that didn't work sadly. But also just try getting a refund from this woman It's basically highway robbery. Oh, Gilda did begrudgingly cave to a very very measly 10% discount that "would go towards alterations" after trying to convince us the pulls would come out with a STEAMER. Somehow she forgot to mention this when she began calling and texting me from a number I wouldn't recognize. She called me only after I came to get this dirty unacceptable garment, and only to ask why I didn't wait for THE OTHER OPTIONS! I could go on and on. I was so embarrassed for Gilda during the entire process (it was so painful!!) , and genuinely cannot believe how this store stays in business. I've shopped all around the world--Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Hamptons, Palm Beach--you name it, I've shopped there. I grew up in the garment industry, my family owned an international dress company for decades based in Manhattan--trust me, I know what I am talking about. This was the WORST retail experience I've ever had. I say this with all sincerity--do yourself a favor and SHOP ELSEWHERE. They'll ruin the event, your wedding, whatever it is you have planned, and you'll be lucky if you have anything to wear after you're done with the saga this store created for you. I got better help from the IRS during tax season--I kid you not! P.S. The owner responds typically to these negative reviews with excuses, puts it on the customer, and says some canned response about customer service. I was upset reading the other negative reviews of how she also ruined people's events and caused such headaches and devastation for one wedding in particular. We've disputed 20% back on AMEX, too. No doubt they'll fight that one. Unreal!

Amazing customer service. Bobi picked three amazing pieces for my daughter to try on and they all were absolutely gorgeous. And Farrah did her alterations. My daughter selected the first one she tried on. Update: picked up the dress and the owners are so nice. Definitely recommend Signature!

I need to report an extremely disturbing experience at a Nordstrom Rack store during a recent visit…read morewith my husband. We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. This interaction was not only unprofessional but crossed the line into harassment. this incident be investigated thoroughly. No customer should be treated in this manner under any circumstances. I would also appreciate a response outlining what steps will be taken to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to others. Huge thumbs down to this store and this horrible little twit

Whew weeee!! This…read morelocation was something to talk about. I have been dying to get in this place for years but always on a tight schedule to get elsewhere. This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

When I first started consigning, I was told that if there was something I *really* didn't want donated, I could let them know. If they decided not to sell that item, I was obligated to come back immediately to get it. I thought that was a nice thing to do, especially since it creates good will with their consigners. One of the last times that I consigned, I explained to the shop-person that there was a piece I wanted to hold onto if they didn't want to sell it, and I was given some eyerolls and told that this is not something Secondi does. They did complete a quick assessment for me, which I appreciated, but the attitude around it made me feel very uncomfortable. It might be helpful if all the shop folks were on the same page about guidelines! Otherwise, Secondi has been around since I was in high school (and probably even before that), so it's a real DC institution. It's one of the most well known consignment shops in DC, and I do think they do a great job curating their wares and they do not sell mass-market/lower quality items.

Within the deceptively large space there is an expansive selection of everything from specialty fountain pens, papers, notebooks, stickers, inks, custom journals, cards, letters, trinkets, and all sorts of other stationary related items. The kind of items that are almost never seen in brick and mortar stores, at least here in the states, stuff that typically requires either visiting multiple specialty shops or niche online stores, or frankly even importing some of it. It was just truly incredible to see the pure variety of all they had available. On top of this, the service was friendly and efficient with knowledgeable staff helping out. The space was clean, well organized, and inviting. Prices were fair too, not cheap but no crazy markups on the items available either, after all much of the items are premium goods and as such they will have similar pricing no matter where you get them. Fantastic for shopping for yourself or for gifting, I would highly recommend and will absolutely be returning myself, absolutely elated by the fact a shop like this even exists!
